With the championship being so close, and coming down to a “winner takes all” showdown this weekend it got me thinking - both HEP and HRC are rolling up with an arsenal of “2026 Supercross Champion” merch.
The obvious answer to the question of “what does the runner up do with their merch?”, would be that they just ditch it, but what if someone got ahold of it first.
Has it ever happened where there are bunch of t-shirts getting around for the bloke who wound up second? Surely there’s a funny story or two…

There's probably an orphanage somewhere rocking "Chase Sexton #1 2025 SX Champ" merchandise lol
Send it to Ghana.
As a Bills fan, I'm all too familiar with this question. 🥲

DeCal Works Huge Plastic Inventory of UFO and Polisport kits.
They had to get rid of 2 sets in 2006.
Hunters fans can still buy it , but only wear it at home.
Why would they wear Kenny's shirts at home?
😉
Probably where it comes from anyway, TBH.
There were also two sets of winning champ merch that year- RC and the AMA
probably cut up into shop rags
Thats no way to treat the new champ 😀
One team is going to party like it’s 1999 and the other one will have a larger than ordinary write off to turn into their accountant at the end of the year…
That was "fuelgate" year. Remember it well. Ricky was the only rider to ever get his points back. Decoster somehow convinced the fraudster AMA that the lead came from the solder of the gas cans!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What? Another DeCoster Debacle? The list is long.
Give us back our points or we're out till MX starts!
I lost a lot of respect for RC when he pulled that.
In Africa they think that the Bill's are the most successful NFL team 😜🤣
I watched the 1992 season review tape on repeat as a kid. Such a good season. And absolutely iconic gear designs by Kenny Safford at AXO. Also, though he didn't get it done in the end, Bradshaw was the man that year. Nine wins on the season and all of them at age 19. Legend.
Anyway, I'm stoked for whoever gets it done this weekend. Both are incredible riders and good people.
