What about the time in 2019 when AC crashed in the final SX of the year and subsequently lost the 250 regional championship. Meanwhile, Webb had just won the 450 title. In the presser when asked about AC he said 'He choked, and I didn't'.

I think that is disrespectful. Perhaps you don't.

I’m pretty sure he went in to track building. Not saying Cooper Webb should retire, but it may be a tall order to get an SX only deal next year.

Davies will most likely move up in 2018. Then they'll have Deegan and him. It looks like JCoop will move on after this year. But they'll need another rider for MX next year if Webb is SX only. I presume Chase is trying to move there to take mx and sx, which will make Cooked's chances much more difficult if it happens. As LVK were discussing this week, Star will probably now be lowballing Webb after his performance this year. He's definitely not in the best of barganing positions that's for sure.

Amazing he has 3 sx titles. Dudes a mental titan.

Very true. Anytime a man tells me their height, I automatically subtract two inches.

Larocco, keidroski, Henry, all have outdoor titles, but I believe Webbs 3 SX titles keep him in a more legendary category over those guys. Or for instance, I’d rather have Webbs career with 3 SX titles, 2 regional titles, and a 250 outdoor title over Kenny’s 2 450 outdoor titles, regional, and mx2 world title. The world title is cool tho.

For those who aren't Webb fanboys, he'll never be viewed in the same way as other champions. There are just two many asterisks, a lack of breathtaking speed, and importantly, he's never done anything absolutely jawdropping e.g: Eli in 2015 plus numerous beastmode rides; Kenny in 2016 MX and 2017 SX before accident; RV in MXON and elsewhere; James...well, constantly; Jett...constantly...

I’m not a Webb fanboy but to be able to get 3 SX titles is a big thing, and I think he would’ve won the 2015 250 outdoor title if he didn’t get hurt. His last lap sneaky passes stick out in my mind just like any big race that Kenny or Eli have had. Webb is more like a Dungey and Reed to me where with James is Jett, Herlings, and Kenny. Tomac reminds me more of RC. I don’t see any asterisks with Webbs titles tho and I’m not mad that he hasn’t been an outdoor warrior on the 450 either.

Not really honestly. Adam crashed all by himself and threw it away. Cooper is just not the type of guy to get emotional over someone else’s misfortune. It was off the cuff in a press conference, not like he had time to sit there and rehearse what he was going to say. If that’s the worst you can think of you’re grasping at straws.

If you think Webb hasn't done much, its a real indictment against the entire field of competitors, I guess, what with his three 450 SX championships, his 250 SX championships, and his 250 mx championship.

I'm comparing him to other champions, not the entire field. He could have 1000 championships and he'd still not be in the same ballpark as the greats. I don't even think championships are the best metric for measuring greatness in the sport anyway. They're one part of it, but not all of it. The way in which the championships were won - and who they were against - also matter.

Um, okay. I'll be admonishing Webb's performance, as you say, relative to Webb's position in the sport. I'm not going to slam Freddie Noren for placing behind Webb in an outdoor national, for example. At any rate if you could remove your bias for just a microsecond you could see that my criticisms of Cooper Webb are valid and based on fact. BTW if Webb shows up to outdoors (and that's a big if) and gets a top five (he won't) I'll happily give him props.

You personally attack Brian and Marissa Deegan’ though…

Fair enough. But Brian is fair game. He's involved in the sport and has, in my opinion, a negative impact on it. As for his wife, the only 'attack' on her as been in the form of mentioning that several of Haiden's relatives have been spending too much time in the botox booth...

The reality is that the list of riders who have won 450 championships in what should have been the "Tomac era" is a huge black mark on Eli's resume.

It was much harder to win a 450 title in the eras before him and will continue to be in the eras after him.

I recall Coop shooting the bird at Barcia way back when they were both on Yamaha. Outdoors race and hit a ski type jump and turned around and let it rip. Barcia did not pull over and let him by as he was in pursuit of another competitor. I could  be wrong.

Coops got a family and outside interests. If he can go one more season with Star, I believe he will be content.

Barcia flipped Webb off. Probably the funniest moto photo I've ever seen. In high rez you can clearly see Webb looking at him. How humiliating lol.

Probably not that humiliating, all Webb has to do is post his stats.

Yes, unless you're one of the weirdos on here that rate the guy...despite him not having won a single real race this year...

They're already beginning to speculate whether he can wiln outdoors. I doubt Fattie will even show up...let alone crack the top 10.
