Logic tells me scoop. I've never ran one. Hoping to run LL regional there. Is it worth the money to run it one weekend?

A fellow Ohio boy. Good feedback. Will potentially be my first time there.

Scoop. The slight disadvantage in the harder sections like the corner/face up to LL is more than worth it compared to the huge advantage you'll have in the sand rollers... and majority of the track.

I HIGHLY recommend scoop for the first part of the day. It gets really deep in the morning.

I intend on going as well. Pm me if youve got questions or anything. Ive got alota laps in up there and have pulled a fair amount of holeshots on soft/intermediate tires. The 14 feels too loose everywhere unless youre going dead straight. Jump faces scare me on a sand tire. Im currently trying the happy medium and have 82s on my bike. I get a little bettet corner feel, but still not like my race spec 34s. Ill be back on 34s for regionals for sure.

Huh. When I read the repsonse…

It’s almost like Eli is riding in Canada until the Nationals and Donk is spinning the wrenches…

Scoop morning early first motos, intermediate or inter soft tire in the later motos 2nd motos sometimes.

Honestly most the time theres enough sand before and after the leap and then the rollers that I do just run a scoop both motos. I see no negatives over the rest of the track and its a big plus in the sand sections and rollers.

I’m running the AT 82 front and really like that tire. I’m the odd bird that for some reason never liked the 3S front that many love even though the 82 has a similar tread pattern. I tried PSI from 12 to 15 in the 3S finally using 13 PSI and still was disappointed. I will have to try the 82 rear when I use up my rear tires I bought.

I’m kinda blown away by the idea of amateurs changing tires between motos. I barely changed tires, like, ever! Lol

I wasnt sold on the 3s either. I do really like the 34 spec the best. The 82 front has been ok, but still feel better connected on the 34rs.

I do not. Maybe a rare case at a regional and ill practice Friday on current set that are worn then put fresh on for motos.

Back when I was riding, I only changed tires when they were worn out!   Yes, I’m cheap 🤣

Dan, It's just not the same as the 80's/90's.. It is mostly sand/ loose dirt for quite a while now, scoop tire would probably be better.

The tire is not going to be the deciding factor of your results. Medium to soft tire is fine.

I'm a one set per year kinda guy. So if a standard tire works ok that's what I'm running so I can still use it back in Ohio.
