I could definitely get behind giving the overall winner an extra 5 points if they went 1-1-1 . Would give a guy some extra incentive to ride the third moto hard if he won the first two , rather than playing it safe .

Extra 3, tops. Otherwise, yes I agree it would be cool to have that incentive for the guy winning AND for his main comp to stop him in race 3.

Hunter Lawrence finished 6th overall at the 2026 Cleveland Supercross (Round 14) after a challenging Triple Crown format, scoring 1-5-14 in the three races. Despite crashing twice in the final race, he maintained his 450SMX championship lead, though it was reduced to a single point over Ken Roczen.

I was the 6th reply and I posted that he got 6th. The OP already knew the point gap between Kenny and Hunters finishes , just thought he got 9th OA not 6th. Maybe You missed my post, or maybe You just don't think it was a complete answer. It is funny how nobody seemed to know what place Hunter got. It made me question my memory of the race or if perhaps somebody in front of Hunter was penalized and he got bumped up to 5th some how. But I have since looked at the official results and see he's still listed 6th.
Adding a point for top qualifier if the swept the mains and were fastest qualifier too . Or make the bonus points only if You are fast qualifier and win all 3 mains. 1 extra point for holeshotting all 3 mains if You also win them all and lead every lap, after being fastest in qualifying. It could get interesting, but coulkd also result in a really big runaway if there were riders dominant enough to consistently sweep rounds like that.
I have always thought that some sort of incentive to push would be good for adding excitement for most triple crown rounds. With the OA winner often not having to win the last race to get the OA. A point or points would provide a reason to push. 1 point separates the leader and second. If the title is won by a single point, that will show just how valuable that single point was!
