Hopefully they can reach a deal and send our troops home. Seems like diplomacy should have been first step but Isreal had intel to take out their entire leadership in one strike I suspect. Which almost worked but they didn’t think about the succession plan. I think we also underestimated the Iranian support for the ayatollah control cause they sure haven’t jumped on this opportunity to free themselves.

Yes, we tried diplomacy for the last 40 years. It was working great, just another 40 years and we'd have seen real progress.

It appears Iran is acting out, gotta let them throw their little last minute fits. Wait 1 week, we'll see if it's real

Trumps own advisors, to include Rubio said Israel was full of shit. CIA claimed regime change was possible if their definition of regime change was taking out irans leaders with a military strike but didn’t extend beyond that. Israel oversold the possibilities to get the US involved, and his own cabinet told him the Israelis are known to do this and that our own intelligence doesn’t line up with what Bibi was saying… but trump listened to Israel anyway.

So you're willing to give diplomacy 40+ years of failure and keep doing the same thing but less than 2 months in, you know what's best. Maybe climb out of the basement and get some sun, explore the world around you. there's more going on than the dem narrative.

The right may not like it but they are also following a narrative. From no more wars, stay focused on home soil to we had to go into Iran is a head scratcher.   Trump literally said Biden would go to war with Iran because he has no ability to negotiate. Now he’s done exactly went he said the previous guy would do and the right is eating it up.

And now it appears he was full of shit when he said the straight is fully open.

Damn dude, we’re just debating and I’m not a democrat. I took your first response as passive aggressive and guess I did the same so I apologize. You just made it personal so now I’m Bowing out of this conversation. Going to watch some racing today then riding my dirt bike tomorrow. Have a nice day.

You are absolutely correct. Both sides put out a narrative. Trump's position on Iran has been for many years. Well before his presidency he talked about going after Kharg Island if Iran did not stop what they were doing. So far, you have to admit that a Biden war would be substantially different than a Trump thumping. How many years did NK blow off missiles and the US would give them big $$s to stop, then again a few years later, rinse and repeat. Trump came in and said, we're doing things differently now. When they realized the gravy train was stuck at the station, diplomacy with Trump happened. All these little countries are misbehaving little kids because no one ever dished out discipline. Iran is an example for the world that discipline will happen. There's more to this than Iran, this also has caused China to reassess their position as they get a LOT of oil from Iran, and cheap. This maneuver has helped slow down China's ambition of dominance. Couple that with Venezuela, and you just put a big hurt on China and OPEC. So when people say we haven't gotten anything, one has to wonder what they are focused on. Many times it's just the dem talking points. How "about I wish he'd listen to his advisors"? That's just another way of saying "I wish he'd do what I wanted". More of what hasn't worked. So let's see what next week brings. Iran knows they are done, these things are just so they think they can negotiate vs sit there and be told how it is. In reality, they'll have to sit there and listen to how it is. Maybe Monday, maybe Thursday? But they are done. Let's revisit this 1 week from now and see where we are.

Yes let’s wait and see but everything Trump admin has said since last June just feels like a lot of hot air and posturing to his base so far. Hes claimed victory probably a half dozen times so far.

Iran isn’t some ‘little’ country and I think the admin has been using a ready fire aim approach since it all began.

Why act surprised when anything happening doesn’t mirror what any politician says?

Cautious optimism is one thing. Getting roped in, hook, line and, sinker is another.

Trump has said Iran has "agreed to everything".

Iran’s lead negotiator, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, has said they are "far from agreement".

They can't both be true, one side has to be lying!

“They can't both be true, one side has to be lying”

So, why is everyone surprised when a person in some form of government lies?

Read up on that so called "great deal" put together by the Obama admin. It's a joke. All it did was kick the proverbial can down the road for the next guy to deal with. And placed a lot of trust in Iran hold up their end by letting in inspectors. Sure, I trust Iran completely....🙄

Read up on the deal that is rumored to be what the Trump admin is putting together.   Not a lot different.

Iran will still be able to enrich Uranium , they just have to promise to not do it underground and stay under a certain level of enrichment.  And the deal has a built in expiration date. US is asking for 20 to 27 years, Iran asking for 5 years.  Some reporting is saying 20 years is agreed on.  Which could end up being a shorter term deal than the one Trump pulled out of.

If the reports are accurate its not alot different except  gas prices shot up, 13 US service members lost their lives and  its costing billions of dollars , many of the countries that have been longtime US allies are unhappy with the attack, It could also trigger food shortages due to fertilizer shortages.

Until the deal is done, we will not know how similar or different it is. Going off the rumors which is all we have right now, it sounds like its very similar to the deal Trump pulled out of.  I hope they make a deal that stops the war, whatever it is.

You need to find more accurate sources of news.

The Touska was not seized in the Strait of Hormoz, it was seized 300 miles away as it entered the Gulf of Oman, on it's way to the container port of Chabahar.

It would be interesting to compare the IAEA’s access in Iran to their access in Israel….
