Probably has death threats.
And now the Republicans toss their own creep under the bus. Gonzales. He's been hanging on by a thread. They couldn't afford to lose a seat until the Dem's dropped a seat so they held on to him until Swalwell resigned. Sort of a prisoner swap.
You do make an interesting observation. 💯
Yeah. It sort of tells you where their priorities are. Shocker!

A woman held a press conference this morning saying Swallwell drugged and raped her. The dude could be looking at prison time.
Good to see that both sides here are in agreement that sexual assault allegations should represent automatic disqualification for political office.
It's easy to say that at a press conference. Why hasn't she said it in court?
While I do agree with you, there are distinct differences in the 2 scenarios.
Gonzales had a consensual affair with a subordinate who ended up killing herself a year after the affair ended. No one knows if her suicide had anything to do with the affair, but they mention it every time the subject comes up.
In Swallwell's case, he was known as someone you didn't let young staffers around. He's been accused of either taking advantage of an overserved staffer, or actually drugged her. A long history of elicit affairs including a long on with a Chinese spy. After all this, they only asked him to leave the Governor's race, not leave Congress because, well, they might lose a seat. Eventually he resigned.
Both not worthy of serving, but definitely not the same.
I dont agree with that at all. "Allegations" are just that, allegations. Ive seen too many women make up all manner of shit, for all manner of reasons, to tank a mans reputation, his career, and get kids or money. I think every allegation should be treated serious and ran thru the proper channels of justice. But innocent until PROVEN guilty.
I dont GAF whatsoever about this Swalwell clown, but I believe in due process.
While I don't doubt the allegations.
I think the bigger story is, the very convenient way that all of this knowledge of his bullshit, sat festering until he was no longer their useful idiot.
Much like their former puppet 'n chief.
You can't tell me that everyone from pelosi on down were oblivious to his perversions.
It sounds like it’s headed in that direction.
Well, when some redneck from Texas knows, you have to know everyone inside the beltway did too.
Well, that hope dwindled rather quickly.

They want to pass a bill that punishes journalist for exposing fraud? Who are they protecting here?
Damn, beat me to it.
It's almost mafioso the way things are being run out there.
Obviously he's over the target.
And then there's this...
Back to swalwell,
Sounds like this idiot actually went back, making contact with these woman, before he entered the governor's race, to see if they were going to remain silent.
Thus opening his own pandora's box.
I heard that…. Unbelievable! Fang Fang I’m sure, is laughing ,whenever she is.
Pit Row
A lot of politicians have a bizarre combination of narcissistic personality disorder traits, combined with massive amounts of hubris. They believe that they are above the potential for scandal or that they can't truly be held to the 'normal' standard that the rest of us would be. Unfortunately, they are sometimes correct.......
Don't you almost feel sorry for Fang Fang? What do you think went through her head when they told her she had to be Swallowell's girl?
Haahaa! Oh man….🤦♂️
I cannot slap my head hard enough.
In essence, the California Legislature just voted in a bill that would allow criminal fraudsters to sue reporters who exposed their crime. The bill would also allow for up to 2 years in prison for the whistleblower. In other words, "We'd rather violate your 1st amendment rights than allow you to catch crooks or even provide evidence."
EDIT: Sorry; it's "only" one year in jail.
"sexual assault allegations should represent automatic disqualification"
See Trevor Andrew Bauer. NFM
Rather ironic that the bill was proposed by the wife of the State Attorney General. It'll be interesting to see how it goes when a journalist s prosecuted for it, and appeals on 1st amendment grounds.
I guess they think that independent journalists are fair game.
Anyone they figure doesn't have deep pockets is fair game to them...
