I don’t know if this has come up, but I hadn’t heard it until Roger told me Saturday right after the races…a few minutes before Lewis spoke to Ian. Roger was saying how frustrated he was with the results, especially given that “his guys” had gone 1-2-3 in the heat race. We were just talking and then he casually said that Tomac has been battling COVID, his second time getting it.
He went on to say that Eli doesn’t like to use medicines and is pretty stubborn about using holistic methods. He feels that could be a lingering factor, he’s not sure. I was caught off guard, because I hadn’t heard it and people have been theorizing about his results dropoff. Maybe it’s old news, but it seems pretty relevant.
I would never count Eli or Kenny out of this championship and I hope I wasn’t supposed to keep a lid on this info. Roger didn’t say it was off the record or hush hush, so I thought folks might want to know. Personally, I wouldn’t even count out Webb.
Ps. Got there weds night and Nashville is one crazy fucking town! My ears are still ringing!

Was this guy not credible at one point? Did someone hack his username?
Fake news until the Uptite(s) guys confirm
Yeah...I'd say he's credible.
Roger D coughing up his rider’s PHI? Seems dubious…
His wife has nose ring so she is 100% liberal, so he probably got all the jabs and now he is paying for it . Just saying.
Well I cant speak to the source or validity of the post but I've done a handful of build-peak-injury/illness-recovery-rebuild phases and that seems to be what's going on with eli.
He's gotten better every single week for 3 weeks. IF this is true information, then the timeline is right. This week we
got qualifying back and the heat back, although he didnt yard malcolm like usual. In the main, he seemed to have it at first, then not, then crashed. If there's been an illness keeping him from riding during the week that explains the discomfort on the motorcycle too.
Idk - at this point with zero information from them it seems to me that this is as equally likely as sports betting fraud or another broken leg that he's skimming whoops with.
Another example of how lame this forum can be.
whole reason tomac said himself since ,Daytona he said happy be healthy he is old and you do not want to take risks. He was max speed keeping up to 96 and KR. He is being smart pull back . KR is old he has more to prove . 3 has little to prove.
IF Eli had COVID for a couple weeks somebody would have posted a sneak picture of him wearing a mask by now. He was at all events instead of quarantined MIA during the infection period.
Doubt that’s the sole problem… if having Covid is factual.
I’ll throw my hat in the ring.
It’s a combination of:
1. Bike setup issues.
2. Crashes. Eli has had a couple big ones and a couple big near misses this year. It’s in his mind and he won’t push when not feeling it.
3. He’s in his own head. When he’s not feeling it or results aren’t there he seems to get pretty down on himself leading to a lack of…
4. Confidence - all of the above have waned on his confidence.
It’s like a big negative feedback loop. 3 and 4 directly affect 1 because he’s not riding at his limits which throws off his settings causing him to not feel comfortable on the bike… which destroys confidence and he gets even more in his head.
Throw in the pressure of seeing the title slip through your hands and there you have it.
lol no one is following any of those guidelines since like 2022. Certainly not Eli.
where was that guy that knew a guy that said it was "not physical", almost alluding to family issues that no man would want to admit?
'Cooked' Cooper Webb can be counted out...
As you can see he's already replacing the gym workouts with visits to McDonalds.
He wants to make sure he can get out of outdoors again...
Pit Row
Did someone say family issues?
Dude. Have you thought about AA? Or if you're really from down under " The Place" ? I mean seriously
I miss moderators
I miss when u made posts worth actually reading
and you know this how? I share your total disdain for the giant COVID hoax and power play foisted on the country by Dr "I AM Science!" Fauci. I haven't even taken a flu shot since my 1st 1 50 years ago. I can also tell you I live in Eli's corner of CO. There are 2 major hospital care systems here and I am still getting questioned before every appointment about travel outside the area, knowing anybody with COVID and all the other symptoms associated with Flu season. They still recommend COVID boosters every year. They even make employees wear masks or get a flu shot each year during flu season. I don't know the Tomacs personally but for family illnesses I would bet they seek treatment at 1 of the medical centers near them like regular people and people do gossip easily around here.
I miss when you had an epic meltdown, adopted the username SGoodman, got bent by mean magoofan words, pretended to commit suicide, and, most importantly, disappeared for a couple of years. I'll go back to posting stuff worth reading if you go back to disappearing for a couple of years. Deal?
You had me at hello!!! Stud
Mic drop !!
Pretty sure Bauer is credible when it comes to moto.
Wow, some of you are so caught up in your Vitarded skirmishes, politics and lack of moto knowledge that you don’t accept or even consider facts. The word covid triggered you guys like a bunch of flat earthers seeing their first globe. As I said, Roger DeCoster and I were talking about the day and he mentioned that Eli has been battling Covid recently, which pretty much fits his results arc. He didn’t say that was the reason, but anyone with a brain knows having the flu does not help. Also, anyone with a brain knows that I would not make shit up, FFS.
A couple other things come to mind from the week in Nashville:
Ian Harrison is truly a nice and honest guy.
Dungey seems happy and way more relaxed in retirement. You guys should try the happy part.
Jeremy’s Holeshot event was a jam packed deal.
722 is a treasure to the sport. He has a gift…and a bog.
If i was asked to pick one forum member I could trust to make a non BS post it would be Bauer. It makes sense:
For whatever reason some of you on here have issues with Steve, he is not going to come on here and post bullshit/made up talks with RD
If my memory serves me correctly, Bauer’s rep as a bonafide moto insider is matched by his rep as a hilarious shit-stirrer, so I naturally take some of his posts with that in mind.
That said, it’s interesting that Ian didn’t reveal this information during the course of his interview with a working journalist. Did the team want to keep Eli’s health situation private and Roger effed up?
