Local mtb trails in San Juan ? Looking like we're on limited time for those, new development of Horse property mansions going in, with a good portion of the trail network slated as equestrian trails. Plus angry residents sick of mtb's on "Their" hiking trails are leaving thumb tacks and nails on the trails, even though the mountain bikers made the trails, as well as maintain them.

Car registration ? Goes up instead of down every year. I'm paying more to register my 2005 truck than when I bought the fucking thing. Plus I have to get it to pass "Smog" now for 100 bucks, even though there's no smog on the stupid truck. They open the hood, go "Yeah it's still stock" close the hood 3 minutes later and charge me a C note. wtf...

Want to go race ? Out of the multiple tracks we used to have that held regular races we have what 3 tracks that still have races ? Perris, Glen Helen and Elsinore. Cahuilla and Pala make too much on practice days. I took the neighbors to speedway for their first time saturday night. The 7 year old buy was super into it. My 2023 Bronco went waaay up this year. The state says they’re using “real value calculations” instead of the old depreciation schedule. What’s funny is…their values are above market. Go figure. 🤣

It’s frustrating to have the finish line keep moving. I started collecting Social Security in January and tried to “semi” retire.
The way it’s working out so far is I have maybe a little more time, and a lot less money 😛 Both our kids and all four grandkids are within an hour of us so I don’t see us going anywhere unless they do, but if they do? We’ll be about 10 minutes behind them

Hey Kenny, I waited until the full 66 years and 10 months. Thats the age where you can make as much money as you want without it affecting your “Benefit” as they’re calling it now. I knew I wasn’t going to be able to live in South Orange County on my whopping $2209 a month Social Security check. My wife turns 62 in November so we’ve been weighing the options for her. The last I checked, you could make some ridiculously low amount of money for around here. I think it was 32,000 and something dollars a year without getting your Social Security dinged. After that, the penalties seemed fairly severe I thought don’t quote me, but I seem to remember it being for every 2 dollars you make over their target number, they take one dollar out of your Social Security check. Fuck I forgot to put that on my list of shit that pisses me off. Thanks for reminding me fucker.

I’ve been paying income taxes and SS longer than I can believe, tho…I did skip SS and most employment taxes from ‘95 to ‘03. If I hold out to 66-10 months…I’m looking at right around $4K. I was surprised by that.
