Hey everyone, I've teased that I've been building this site in a few threads in the past month or so and I'm happy to say that it is launched! I'm beyond excited to share this site with the moto world. I would like to believe it's the best and most in depth motocross stats site out there. Here is a little walkthrough and description of what each page has to offer. smxmuse.com
Rider Profiles:
The rider profiles have three tabs: Career Stats, Career Results, and Points Standings.
Season Dashboard:
The season dashboard page allows you to filter any year, any discipline, any class.
Race Results:
This one is pretty self explanatory. Toggle a discipline, pick a year from any decade, and then pick any race!
All Time Leaderboards:
Toggle a discipline, pick a class, and check out all-time leaders! Also, when you click on a riders' row, it auto scrolls and brings up that rider in the rest of the tables.
Venue Leaderboards:
Venue pages are accessible via the search bar, type in any track, and click to go that track's page!
Rider List:
There are multiple ways to look for riders on the site. You can use the search bar or go to the riders tab. It shows a featured list of who has been guessed the most recently in my grid game (now at grids.smxmuse.com) and a sorted alphabetical list. You can also select the Countries tab and look through lists of riders from each Country that has had riders race in AMA SX or MX!
Comparison Tool:
I hope this will take bench racing to the next level. Pick two riders, a discipline, and a class to see how they match up with each other! The share button creates an image that copies to your clipboard on desktop and is savable on mobile.
If you decide to check out the site, feel free to click around and explore! Everything is linked to their respective page, rider names, track names, dates, years, etc.. I would love to hear feedback on what everyone thinks. If you don't want to reply here, you can email feedback@smxmuse.com or dm me on any of my socials @ smxmuse. There are still some things I am planning to add, like SMX Playoff data. I have it in my database but I wanted to focus on nailing down SX/MX first. I have many more ideas to add in the future that I already have in my db, so we are truly only scratching the surface here!
As mentioned earlier, with this site being smxmuse.com, the grid game that was previously there, is now at grids.smxmuse.com. If you had an account for the grid game, just sign in and all of your progress and past grids will be restored.
Thank you all and I hope you enjoy! smxmuse.com

Very cool stuff! I’m a dork and love to geek out over this stuff. Appreciate your hard work!
Thank you I appreciate it! I’m a huge stats nerd myself so this was a lot of fun for me to bring to life
This is amazing, especially for people like myself who are fans of stick & ball sports (I've always been a big baseball guy) where there are tons of analytics at your fingertips.
This is great, one thing I would recommend is to have a filter for active riders and include age for active riders.
Great website!

Yes! That is a big reason behind why I did this. I'm a big traditional sports fan as well and I use the sports-reference sites all the time. Those sites were a big inspiration for this
Thanks! Those are good notes. I do have most of the riders' DOBs so that's something I could definitely pull off
I really think at the top of each riders profile should be some cool artwork and graphics indicating titles won, etc.
Like, 1 450mx title, 2 regional sx titles, etc.
I agree! Eventually I was thinking about having career accolades and number plates for each number they wore throughout their career. Similar to sports-reference below
Yeah, that's a good start. I think eventually it could be sick to be more visual than that, but that is 100% the way to go for a first implementation.
This is spectacular! Thanks!
This is so cool. As a stat nerd that spends a lot of time on baseball/football reference pages, I love this. Is there any way you can add the total combined points for the season, so I can see who's on track for a career number? Obviously that will really take shape in the outdoors but I love monitoring that throughout the year.
This is so cool! Thanks for creating this it's great
Finally got around to adding the SMX results/data to the website!
Awesome, just should not have named it SMX, someday that BS is over…
Added laptime and segment data for each moto/main event.
Click on a rider in the moto/main event results and a drop down comes down showing their average lap time, best lap time, consistency score, best time in each segment, average time in each segment, and laptime for each lap. It also highlights gold, silver, and bronze for riders who are best, second best, and third best for that specific data point. The line graph is only on desktop browsers for now but that highlights how the riders' lap times rank each lap throughout the moto/main event. https://smxmuse.com/results
The data for Supercross goes all the way back to 2014. For motocross, it is just this season. I will work to backdate a lot of that data for MX and SMX.
Bookmarked and will visit repeatedly for years to come. Great work, kudos to you for making this available to everyone.
Few requests:
- add championships to the all time leaderboard
- For the season stats, it would be nice to have a column for how many points off the leader each rider is. Like how they present the points on TV, we dont see how many second place actually has, just the deficit
Thanks for the bookmark and kind feedback! Both of your suggestions are definitely feasible. Adding champions and a few other different leaderboard categories are on my to-do list.
Very VERY good job.👏👏👏
I might feel useless from now on.😆

Thank you! I see your work on here often and enjoy it. The more stats/data out there on the sport the better!
Put out another update last night. Redesigned the header for the race result page to include the weather. I also added a notes tab where you can read my pre race notes and race recaps rather than via Instagram if that is what some prefer.
Nice work Seth! What you had was already awesome and you just keep making it better. Appreciate your determination and effort!
Just went live with a pretty big update to the site. I added rider numbers and accolade banners to rider profiles. You can now see what numbers riders have used in their careers. If you hover over a number plate, it shows the years the number was used. I have virtually all double and triple digit numbers from 1997-present. From 1980-1996 I have all double digit numbers and triple digits scattered here and there. Pre 1980 I have a handful of rider numbers added. If anyone notices any numbers missing for a rider, please let me know, I would love to get them added!
Lots of work!!! Nice job.
Moving forward you could list the pre- 2000 classes as 125cc, 250cc, and 500cc instead of trying to format them as 250 and 450.
Love the update! Also love that you can see moto finishes for us old guys. Can't do that in the vault.
