The bigger concern with me is how our adversaries responded to rhetoric. If the current 10 point plan is approved, I’m not sure we accomplished much. While I don’t agree with the start of war or at least unclear on the mission, I’m very appreciative of the president willing to negotiate rather than full on escalation. Was looking really bad yesterday. Calmer heads prevailed for the moment.
Agree it's reality, but I'll never stop saying it's shit, because if we all reduce the amount of resistance we give to low class behavior, the more we actually become a low class country. I can't even imagine what the next generation will be like if it's normal for everyone to start acting like a teenage girl endlessly lashing out, which is a fear/weakness btw.

I hope that we return to a time that we hold our leaders to a higher standard and stop cheering when they use language we wouldn't want our kids using. A leader that can lead by example and bring everybody together.
I wasn't trying to define right and wrong. But from my recollection, the standard has been. Civilian use, off limits. Military use, acceptable target. Dual use, acceptable target. Temporary is an ambiguous term, temporary can be 1 month or 1 year or who knows? Also, did we need to drop the 2nd bomb on Japan? There's always going to be discussion of what is too much. From what I read, we won the war in Vietnam, but then the dems slashed the aid to the South by 70%(ish) which allowed the North to regain strength and ultimately prevail. So maybe the lesson is finish the job?

You're sort of right. Civilian use - Supposedly off-limits. Military, acceptable (even if operated by civilians, factories etc are all legitimate targets). The bit where you're wrong is on dual use. The rule is 'must not cause undue harm to civilians', which is why temporary blackout strikes in Yugoslavia were deemed ok and same for comms in Iraq etc. Granted though, it's been an area which is grey enough that really everyone has kicked the arse out of it when it suits them since 1948 when this stuff was put to paper.
