always annoyed me that in modern times with Access to YouTube, 3d Printing and other handy niche skills. We don't see bike builds any more... Just bolt on kits.
I think DocWob is one of the few people i see doing builds and using the access to modern technology to create cool one off  "factory" parts.

personally id love to do a modern bike build drawing influence from all the cool factory parts we have seen over the years.. like carbon wing scoops on JS259's KX125 for example. Heck i just want to play with carbon and titanium.

I actually created a thread years ago about Cool parts. I still look back through for inspiration haha

I'd like to do a build, but the bikes that interest me are going to be a parts nightmare. And I would want to ride them.

2008 Husaberg FE 550 is bike I'd like to build. Honda XR-650. KTM 950 SuperEnduro.

I enjoy finding a bike that's mechanically sound but cosmetically beat up and refurbing it. So far I've broke even on those projects. I enjoy the process.

Got 2 'bergs in build at present including a 550. You are correct, the pre-94 ones especially are a complete parts nightmare !

Honda fit and finish is another level... but 8 rockers on a single cylinder? And they weigh more than a Buick.

I've been following this Denecke Racing Technologies YZ400 two stroke build for a while and it's pretty interesting. He is using a cylinder off of a snowmobile, with quite a few mods. I believe he is the guy that started Apex, the cylinder head guys. He doesn't do really flashy or polished videos but the project is pretty damn interesting. It would be great to see someone ride the bike at some big races.

However much anyone hates Rutledge Wood, it's not enough.

Jay Clark is still using an angle grinder for a chain breaker, toilet bowl acids for bike cleaner,  and Chinese pot metal for parts, all with gleeful enthusiasm and a "you can TOO" attitude, if any of that interests you.

If he couldn’t make himself even more unlikeable. God I just imagine that douche wearing some corny looking helmet riding down a boardwalk with that stupid grin that makes you want to smack him on his face.

“BUT WHAT IF IT DOES” or whatever he was yelling at DV lol

100% a Bell Custom 500 with some sort of bubble shield.  Stamp it.

But have you not seen the 5 axis machined moon rock engine mounts EVERY WEEK on pit bits?

Designers have just gone stagnant for a while now. People flip out over a dumb ass colored tweed Carbon Fiber end cap on a muffler thats been out for 20 years... "Ooooh oooh!! That red one is SO FIRE!"

Agree. Yawn...

That would be cool to see some of the new bikes built up. A lot of those build articles/vids sometimes end up just seeming like an advertisement for parts though. It can be entertaining but a lot of them, just lack substance and just talk about what is on the bike. I used to really like those types of write-ups but now I have sort of gotten interested in things like Keefer does where he addresses a complaint or area of a bike with a possible solution. Even if I don't have the bike, I just like reading about ways to make a Honda chassis more compliant or getting the Kawi engine to perk up etc. Stuff like like that is interesting and feels more real-world. I did like MXAs built YZ250f and YZ250 2stroke, not long ago, however. And I wouldn't mind seeing a full-mod Ducati test, if it was done with some substance and not just a parts catalog ad.

most magazine builds are an ad for twisted nowadays

I think it was on vital where the guy was testing engine mounts and said it helped smooth the power character 😂

Where is the fire breathing full mod Ducati 450?

Where is a race tuned beta 350 2 stroke shooting for 60-70hp?

How about a full mod triumph 450 or 250?

Nothing seems to have been done with any of the “new” and unique offerings.

Yawn.

This is exactly where i want to build my business to.

No media bias, not paid, just build bikes and unlock all the potential, use different motor guys, suspension guys ect and give non biased reviews.

Currently I am building and restoring older bikes and putting them on my You tube channel, this is just the start, I use this model above for my builds and let the customer decide what suspension guy he wants to use, motor guys ect as we are paying for everything and not just looking for the deals/cheapest.

The best way to help support people like myself is to subscribe and watch the vids, this leads to monetization and then we can do the builds we want.

Theres plenty of guys out there so pick you poison really, some sponsored and discount codes guys that use similar products each build, but also guys like myself that are building stuff with no support just customer funded.

Might have to give you a follow.

I’ve brought this up with Keefer. All his reviews are positive. He says he won’t publish unfavorable reviews because he’s worried about harming the business.

Sounds noble but also I dont think he has that much influence. Be real, post stuff that doesn’t work. It will help consumers and the business (if they care enough to change).
