I’m the opposite I’d be singing like a canary telling everyone about my injury so they wouldn’t think they are beating the best version of myself haha

I hadn’t thought of that angle.😉

Its one of 4 things.

He just doesn't like tight rutty tracks with the ktm thats a complete possibility most his bad nights have been on tracks like this.

Hes hurt and hes recovering and trying to limit the damage.

Hes sick and recovering from something thats more long term.

The bike is or has been doing something thats got him rattled. Could there be some issues that chase, vialle and plessenger had with the shock or anything else happening again.

You can see it in his riding, somethings not right. He doesn't have the snap into and out of corners he had before. I always would talk about this with Reed. You could tell the night he was gonna have by how he was able to snap out of corners. Also the nose down reedy style. But the fluid snap elis known for is not there

Prado is having an amazing sx season. But tomac still should even on his bad nights be ahead of him yet Prado held tough for 4th.

Definitely not an age thing. Something has changed and I don’t think it’s the bike.
He has to be injured or going through something.
I know when your personal life has big issues it affects everything you do. Divorce, separation, kids or wife super sick. I know this stuff really messes with your head and can’t imagine having to be the best at something going through stuff like that and not have it your effect your performance.
I allways wonder about the riders that are not married and going through the games of chicks and how it messes with you mentally.
Hopefully it gets better for the ultimate finish to the year.

Flame me if you want and it’s just what I see he looks scared. He starts off looking good first lap or so then he will miss a sections or case or over jump something and all the sudden looks like he just said ok enough of this shit, I want to leave here walking.

There's no way you go from the first 8 rounds looking like he did, to tip toeing around the track because he's "scared"

The age stuff is simply stupid. I don’t know why another thread is needed on this but the only thing possible is an injury or an ailment. The bike didn’t magically break. He didn’t forget how to ride. He’s not mad over money. He’s not missing his Porsche. He’s not upset about his brother. Stop it lmao.

No limp. Is that possible? I don’t know.

Also if injured now would he skip outdoors? That would suck!

Yes you can walk around with no acl and no major limp.  I've done it with a mcl and seen several friends with acls.  No acl makes the knee super weak side to side but you can walk fine, especially with a knee brace.

THIS IS MY BIGGEST ISSUE WITH MX/SX AND A LOT OF ITS OUR FAULT. IF A RIDER SAYS HES INJURED OR SICK, HES JUST MAKING EXCUSES.. AND GOD FORBID HE SAYS SOMETHING ABOUT THE BIKE. ELI IS A GROWN ASS MAN WITH A TON OF EXPERIENCE AND IM SURE HES WORKING HISS ASS OFF AS I TYPE THIS TO FIX THE ISSUE. BUT HOW MANY OF YALL WOULD LIKE TO SEE EVERY TEAM PUT OUT A WEEKLY INJURY REPORT LIKE THE STICK AND BALL SPORTS?

Yup.

Looks to me like he’s running out of energy/getting fatigued.

Could simply be a flu/virus that’s lingering.

Et3 swears he isn't hurt and it's not the bike.... so.... is it 1. He's just a headcase.... plenty of evidence for this over the years.... or 2. He's riding to a script....

Do you think anyone with championship hopes is not smelling blood watching him ride the last few weeks?

Understood. I just think doing what these guys do every week, maybe 8 “good” races is all he has in it. At some point, riding at the edge required to win takes a backseat to “I want to drive my GT3 without pain.”

He will have some good rides outdoors, no doubt. Supercross is just brutal.

Randy Couture was like 45 when he won a UFC championship. Tom Brady was 43 when he won his last Super Bowl. Bernard Hopkins was 49 when he won a championship in boxing. Johan Clarey was 41 when he won an Olympic gold medal in skiing. Cadel Evans was in his mid 30s when he won the Tour De France.

Stop with the age nonsense. 33 is not THAT old. He looked fantastic earlier in the season. Something is clearly wrong, he didn’t go from being awesome to being a 6th place rider in the span of a couple weeks.

No, but I’m saying that would be fuel to the fire if he just put it out there.

Cool. Well you don’t know anymore than I do, so whatever you want to believe. I’m sure none of it is age related.

Vital, where no one believes it’s (eventually just) job for these guys.

In the UK typically we do the opposite.

“I’ve been sick- I’m not pushing today”

“I have a bad (enter body part) so today won’t be the real me..

“My training has been disastrous- I need to turn a corner before you’ll see what I can really do..

And then we put in our biggest fucking effort to put everyone else in pain!

We take glee in telling our competitors how unprepared we are- If our competitors think we are only 70% fit and they consider themselves 100% fit yet they’re still suffering, we hope they’ll feel demoralised and give up next week.

Completely the opposite to what Americans seem to do.

i wouldnt be surprised if hes got a groin injury he rides like he cant squeeze the bike like normal. and hes leading or in the points so hes tryin to ride thru it and stay in the hunt.  no need to tell everyone what injury it is. its not going to change anything. hes riding for the title and thats it. hes playin points game and doin best he can. sitting out to heal is not an option right now.

KTM ran out of money from the restructuring and cut his pay, so he said less dough, less go.

actually, ACL is for front/back stability. I snapped right 1 in 1976 and never was a candidate for repair (full knee blown up) and quit riding a couple years after. Once advanced braces became common, I got a custom fit orthopedic brace and could ride again. Had TKA on that leg in 2016 and fine since. I snapped Left 1 in 2000 and had ACL graft repair on that one. Rode on it for many years including racing VMX. Had TKA on that leg 9 months ago. Could ride now but can't find time and my riding buddies are always busy too.

Riders cover up injuries and illnesses in the sport, I get it..

RC started it because he said Chad was such a mental competitor that he couldn’t give him any edge coming to the gate.. makes sense to me.

Eli is a few weeks in to riding around in 6th place but stays with the “I’m fine, just a little off” narrative.

What does he have to gain from this, I understand not wanting to give the competition edge, but at this point, they are probably not even worrying about Eli as soon as they see him in the heat or qualifying.

Does denying there is an issue give an advantage over explaining what it is?
Like if Eli says, my bike was a little off but we will get it dialled, the competition would expect the old Eli back next week.

Or I’m a little banged up, but it’s not serious, so I’ll be good to go next week.. does this really give Hunter an edge?

I’m a Tomac Superfan, but this is frustrating because clearly something is up, and it would be great to know what it is, and I really see no advantage for keeping it secret.

eli is trash Ryan dungy pushed him to his edge m go be a scum farmer seeking handouts from real men boy tomac

Initially he had something to prove and went all out. Since had a few crashes/close calls, maybe scary practice crash and ET and family want him to back it down walk away healthy
