AT SELECT ROUNDS!

"We are working on getting some kind of “futures” race off the ground for a couple of selected rounds of the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championships for 19-and-under riders on 125cc two-strokes, and likely Super-Minis so all brands can be involved. We even have a temporary working name for the project: The Mad Skills Motocross Cup at the High Point National, and maybe even Hangtown. If it comes together, it could give us a better understanding of what the real demand for this kind of racing is out there, and also give some fast young riders a chance to check out the outdoor nationals before they join them for real one day. Anyone who wants to get involved or has some other ideas, contact me at: DC@mxsports.com In the meantime, I will put my helmet and chest pro on and get ready for some roosting and flaming...."

I haven't been to an amateur national in quite a while, but I hear the 125 schoolboy class is always extremely exciting to watch, with the close racing. I'm sure some of you can attest to that.

I would love to see some of the young guys "double class it" like Roczen, wilson barcia etc....
The amateur talent is deep in America, so I'm curious if my hypothesis will be correct: the racing will be closer, with less of a spread between the top 10 riders, since everyone will be running those suckers wide open! You know the skill level is beyond those bikes, considering the kids run 250f, so I'm inclined to believe racing 125 will be like NASCAR's restrictor-plate racing for today's crop of highly skilled riders.
Anyways, I'm stoked and hope to see at least one of the motos online at racer X or either MadSkillsMotocross.com!
Pit Row
Where is this.
It's refreshing to have somebody in charge of the sport who actually listens to the fans and riders. Hope it all works out and, being from Australia, I hope those chainsaws get some TV time
