I still have Peacock on for some reason.
Duffey, very dramatically: “We have just had it confirmed that this is the closest this championship has ever been [Ricky: “Wow] amongst three riders after 12 rounds. Five points blanketing three riders with five rounds to go.”
These were the final standings in 2006 when Ricky himself won his last championship:
Did you miss the “after 12 rounds” part
That was after 16 rounds. 16 is after 12.
Thank you for confirming you didn’t understand the phrase
After 11 of 16 rounds in 2006 (5 races to go), this was the points standings:
1. Ricky Carmichael - 237
2. Chad Reed - 229
3. James Stewart - 214
23 point spread
After round 12 (4 races to go) it was:
1. Ricky Carmichael - 259
2. Chad Reed - 249
3. James Stewart - 239
20 point spread

16 is after 12? Yeah I gotta google that first. You're probably lying
You would say “through 12 rounds” if you literally meant the end of the 12th round. Or even “at the end of round 12”. “After 12 rounds” includes any round after round 12.
Your thread title is becoming more ironic by the moment.
After 12 rounds [have been completed]
Plenty of shit to pick on these guys for but you are wrong about this one.
Common core in action folks
I’m a 40 year old computer scientist.
Then you should feel even worse
I’m more offended by them saying they have a gravel setup
Is a Gravel title the only thing missing from Johnny T’s record?
I’ve never left here feeling better.
This is a hilarious thread. I mean, it’s technically correct that 16 is after 12. And of course, that’s the best kind of correct.
So if I’m leading after one lap, I’m the winner. Because the last lap is after the first lap.
Pit Row
Thats only cos there was no grav grav back then. BUT he did go proto Grav when he put drops on his bike and raced XC and DH
Technically if there was a way to "chose" which lap you wanted as the "last lap" then yes. However, in order for this paradox to exist you would have to get full cooperation from all other competitiors, which seems doubtful. It's the same as when looking for something it's always in "the last place you looked". Unless you elect to keep looking, which opens you up to additional scorn. Moral is don't trust 40yr old computer scientists.🤣
You have it perfectly backwards.
The only mistake was this post.
I literally spit out my coffee reading "...the best kind of correct." Thanks for that, I can't wait to use that at work next week.
That nonsense was 20 years ago and my investment in that ended 19.5 years ago. The more dumbest thing about them last night was Brayton telling his son he finished 4th which I think was qualifying and peacock showing it last night and Ricky saying he finished fourth because peacock showed Brayton showing his son 4 when getting off the track when two seconds later they showed the race results and Beckman finished 6th.
My wife says I’m wrong and to stop arguing with strangers on the internet it’s Easter god damnit.
Anything to complain.
