God damnit. This will be my last Kawasaki, I can't afford to destroy a 450 in 60 hours. If this was a KTM I wouldn't be needing anything at 60 hours, much less a complete rebuild plus new clutch basket.

What ended up being wrong with it?

Are you asking Hinson for a 21’-26’ belleville setup, or the 2019/2020 traditional 5-spring design? You can put the older style in the newer bikes, but not the other way around. Those who are harder on clutches should go with the 19’-20’, in my experience: Fibers are more durable and it’s easy to mix/match stiffer springs for desired feel/actuation. Same for Kawi 250F owners as well, going back to the previous spring design compared to the single-belleville unit…

Kawi copied the KTM belleville setup, but one part they forgot was the preload adjustment the KTM has.  On the Kawi, you can only adjust the preload by mixing and matching different thickness plates that they sell to get the correct stack height.  Ideally, you need to check this and adjust as the plates wear.  Of course most guys are not doing this and heavy clutch abusers can have their stack height out of spec pretty quick.

I want the Belleville OEM design, I'm not hard on the clutch, but my basket it really notched. I get a Hinson discount, so that's why I'm disappointed they are out of stock.

I'm 99 percent sure I have a bad rod bearing.

300 for a set of Dunlop's? What in the actual fuck?

Really, 300 for a set of fuckin dirt bike tires. God damn would they like my left testicle too?

I will say, whoever decided on exactly 1L for an oil change is a gentleman and a scholar.

Also installed the Twin Air setup, expensive but very nice.

Currently at 3.5 hours and so far so good! Last Japanese bike I raced was a 99 RM125 and I’ve been on euro bikes since 2005

It's 0.9L with a filter change. This is straight from the manual

I've only got about an hour and a half on the setup, and 3.5 on the bike as it sits so still breaking it in but it appears he nailed the valving. I did the DIY kit without the pro perches and 2 clicks out on comp front and rear and 1/4 turn out on high speed comp it feels nice and plush for older fatter A offroad racer.

Waiting on my Luxon Nexus bar mounts and I think it will be a phenomenal bike (and still cheaper when its done then buying another stock Beta)

Putting on a desert race this weekend so should have 6+ more hours on it after this weekend and should have a better idea.

I’m putting an engine back in my 24 and don’t have a service book. Does anyone have the engine mount torque specs?

engine hangars are 37 ft lbs on the big one & 22 ft lbs on the smaller 2.

lower engine mounts are the same. FCP mounts go down a little i believe. but i'm assuming you have stock mounts?

Curious what setting you went with on the valving? Interested in using JBI kit as well.

For the drop downs i went Offroad Desert - B class, hes also from my area originally so hes very familiar with my terrain which varies from massive sand whoops to slow rock crawling.

Give him a call, hes awesome to deal with. When it comes to suspension always be honest, A lot of negative suspension reviews are people overestimating their speed and ability. I do race the A class but anymore I'm more of a B rider. Let him know what you like, don't like, terrain you ride. In the order notes its good to describe all that information as well.

Like all the practice pros on Vital that swear they are B class speed but haven’t raced in 10 years if ever. 😂

Logged 9 engine hours over the weekend. The race course was slower and very rocky and the JBI set up worked great. My only gripes I have I think are due to the rigidity of the aluminum frame which I'm not used to coming from Beta/Pre-2016 KTM frames. Luxon Nexus bar mounts were delivered while I was at the race are are a work of art. I've run KTM/XTRIG HDPS bar mounts on every bike I've raced for the last 15 years.

Learned chain slack is very important on these bikes, just a little bit loose and sounds and feels like the whole bike is coming apart lol.

Try the “softer” OEM engine hangers.  It will help with the rigidity you feel.

Anyone found any luck with used subframes? Mine is cracked to the point it needs replacing. Rm has them for $556 and the only used one I can find is not reasonable priced:

I have noticed on Chases military appreciation bike he had a black airbox (which i realize may be a factory kawi part) And the MX6 team it was all white under there (that green really pops out when changing to different colored plastic) Anyone know of someone making a cover for this?
