I live in CA, high gas prices are just what we live with. It's tiring complaining about the same damn thing year after year after year. Absent the Iran issue, we'd still have high gas prices. Apparently we like abuse in CA.

Right? Gas prices going up 50 to 75 cents is kind of like what just happens when they switch to summer blend.

For those of you who don't live in California and don't get the "summer blend" reference, that's when the state requires refiners to add chemicals to reduce gasoline volatility and improve air quality. Think of it as "Extra-" Magic Gas, instead of the regular old Magic Gas that we already pay $1.50 more for than you do.
I sure am glad that the Magic Gas never runs out, allows my car to fly, and cures Cancer. Oh, wait, it doesn't do any of those things....

The summer bled is national wide not just Cal.

Our gas went up another 50 cents Thursday night so seeing it ranging from $3.60 - $3.80 and one already $3.99

I am in Eastern Washington,  planting season is upon us and asparagus harvest will begin in a few weeks, not a great time for higher prices.  I don't blame all of this on Trump, this started for Washington state by the stupid Carbon tax and the high gas tax.

Life long Washington resident on the Westside. You’re correct and it’s just the tip of the iceberg. We’ve been taxed to death. Used to be a great place to live, not so much anymore. I’m out once my inlaws have passed.

Not a bit.

Road tripped to our place in N.Carolina for three days of the banff mt film festival.

Always a good time with friends from across the S.E.

Nobody bailed due to the price per gallon.

In a couple of weeks we're driving up to Bardstown KY for a tour of bourbon distilleries.

Then next month off to N.California for a friend's wedding and a road trip up the coast.

Life goes on. And there's no time sit around.

Fill up and go.

Then it was all

Rain and thunder
And lightning crumbling
Buildings falling
Hurricanes Earth shattering
Membranes scattering
Insane happening
Souls keeps burning
And the sky keeps plummeting down

You’re correct, despite the claims otherwise.

Been paying 21-25 pesos per liter since 3/13 (cheaper in northern Baja/more expensive in southern Baja).

I am not happy about the fuel / gas prices, but I know it’s just temporary…We are at $3.60 or so here for 87. Filled up our diesel Yukon today at $4.50 a gallon (but that thing gets ~29-30 mpg)..

Unlike ~12 years ago or so when we were paying $4+ for regular unleaded and I was making a fraction of what I do now..And still lower than under Biden in 2022..

I was getting used to the low prices under Trump…so it’ll takes some adjustment to Democrat type prices here for a bit..

Pesos not worth much, liters not very voluminous. Did that help?

Just filled up my truck. I can still fill the tank on my card. During Obama years, pump would shut off because too many $$s charged. Had to drive away with partially filled tank. What a pain in the ass. Made for 2 trips per week to the gas station.

In another thread chance1216 posted about gas prices being high in 2022 so what caused that price jump?

Not sure if this is sarcastic, but RU sanctions and the Ukraine invasion were a primary factor.

lol all you had to do was ask the employee to up the limit. Some stations here have $75 limit unless you talk to the cashier to up it

Correct You bet me to it.

Pumps had a built in $100 stop till they were reprogrammed to go higher.

I remember when the pumps could not go over 99 cents and we had to pay per 1/2 gallon till pumps were changed.

That might be true if you get fuel from "Bob's Fast Gas" but I try to fill up at Costco once a week while we are there buying groceries. They do not have the flexibility to change their limits.

For years now, spanning the course of numerous administrations, you take a Benjamin to the gas station, fill up, take your change and move on down the road.

We've all seen how anything happening on the world stage will bump the price at the pump overnight, whether the price per barrel rises or not.

It's all in the hands of speculators.

That's all well and good my friend, but the amount of Biden "I did that" stickers stuck on fuel pumps that were posted here as meme's say's otherwise. For some reason that senile turd got all the blame, especially around here, yet when it comes to Trump it's just a world stage thing and speculators. Dude literally started bombing a country half a world away directly causing this spike, yet for you it's all good in the hood and the cost of doing business.

If anything, at least try and be consistent in your convictions.

To be fair good sir, Biden did it with "the intent" to raise carbon fuel (gas) prices. Trump has been trying to make energy cheaper. The higher gas prices are a by product, not the focused intent.

Taxed to death?  I live in WA state, but as far from Seattle as humanly possible and my tax burden is crumbs.  No state income tax, property taxes are reasonable, no tax on food or medicine, no Seattle sound tax and I have the option to drive 5 miles to Idaho and save $1/gal on gas.  I can also drive to OR or MT to make tax free purchases on big ticket items.  After living in CA, IL and OR.... Washington is a damn tax haven!
