Every year I get sucked into the SX hype and hold out the hope that this year will be awesome. However, come A1, I am left wanting.
Once again the guy that gets the Holeshot runs away and we are left watching battles for third, fourth and fifth. What do we need to do to see some EPIC racing? Well I will tell you.
We need to award Championship points for qualifying position, laps led, fastest lap and even the Holeshot. However, the gate positions will be reverse order. If you qualify 1st you will receive the most championship points for qualifying but receive last gate pick. By doing this we ensure that we see epic battles. The fastest guys will have to either pull miracle holeshots or work their way through the pack. Can you imagine seeing Stewart, Reed and Dungey have to work their way forward through the pack every race.

There should be points for fastest day qualifier (timed), win a night qualifier, holeshot main, fastest lap in main, most laps led in main, and "hard charger" for most riders passed in main.
Correct me if I am wrong but didn't Stewart and Reed both come from like 15th and finish near the front?

Kind of like how sprints and midgets invert the start based on qualifying. I also think they should stop doing the press days and letting the top guys ride the track before everyone else. It's only giving them more speed come race day... making it easier for them to check out.
... that's on top of the money they make, the parts they get, the flights they receive, unobtainable goods they use, etc... compared to the real privateer's. Oh and for the record, Reed isn't a privateer. It sucks that he's going to take the top privateer award this year.
I'm pretty sure if they were all on 250cc two-stokes the racing would be extremely close, because the top ten guys would be running the bikes wide open, aggressively, and it would be much like restrictor plate racing in Nascar. Some may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one... We all hear pros talk about how slow the two-stroke 250cc are after they ride them. Just imagine if the big five didn't have the extra horsepower that only they utilize in pulling huge gaps on the rest of the field?
If everyone stays healthy we will see great racing all year long-right thru the entire pack. I thought the racing was excellent in every way.
The only thing I hate is timed qualifying for the outdoors where you hold your gate pick for the 2nd moto regardless of how you finished the first moto. NOW, that sucks balls.

I'm not baggin on the guy btw. I actually gained a fair bit of respect for him with all this. But one thing I can tell you is that he did NOT pay for everything.
It's all about the connections... and Reed has some connections.
Especially now they seem to have started wearing helmet cams, which you can only assume helps them to learn the track layout!
Your theory is the opposite of reality.
I don't find excitbike very entertaining...
