PS4 & PS5 Game Recommendations

I recently bought ARC Raiders. I switched from Xbox to PS5 a few years ago because I wanted more single-player titles vs online, so I lost that urge to play with friends online for a bit. I don't game much anymore, but this game pulled me back in, and allows you to go out solo or in squads.

I play nothing but GranTourismo;  this only started 2 months ago when my sons asked for a Sim (racing) Rig.  I slapped together some 2x4's and hit the floor running with a PS4/GT7.   FB market place for the wheel/pedals and TV.     I def kept me occupied during snowy Jan/Feb and I may take the plunge and build a real one and dive into iRacing.  Anyone else into GT7 or Sim Racing in general?  Any iRacing guys here?

Super fun to build cars and mock up graphics kits.  I've imported my own logos for my power washing LLC; I know super nerd but f-it.  It's bitchn to me.

I'm still running street cars but just purchased first GR3 car.  Super fun.

I play GT7 but online only. I’m just a pad player, I’d love a rig but I don’t have the space for one unfortunately. You definitely need to get yourself a PS5 Pro for a better graphical & smoothness experience.

I picked up a PS5 Pro a few days ago just because the price was about to jump $150 on them. Is there a noticeable difference?

I'm going to keep an eye out for PS5 Pro and the VR2 (hear good things compared to VR1).   Sadly, I bought a 145K mile driven, Scion FR-S and been dumping funds there, like I would in GT7 tuner shop.   Next up wheels/tires and coilovers.  Confirmed three local tracks have autocross/track days, next one in a few weeks.  Kinda knew I'd go in this direction after first 15 minutes in the sim rig.  *shaking head*

Brake pads, rotors, shift linkage bushings (rear carrier, retention) stiffer springs, VLAND head and tail lights, front lip, rear diffuser, couple LED bulbs, floor mats, vinyl roof wrap, spoiler, black badging, RedLine engine oil, RedLine gear oil, RedLine diff oil and a obligatory duck-bill paint matched spoiler.  Could be the most balance vehicle I've had the pleasure of ripping around in.

I wouldn’t say a massive difference because the game looks amazing but more QoL improvements, more ray tracing & better fps. Ideally you need a tv to support it, OLED with 120hz & VRR.

I’d say it depends on what you play.
Bought a Pro about a month ago and before that I had almost 230 hours in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 on the base model. And now it is almost like playing an entirely new game. Same for battlefield 6, definitely worth it for me who isn’t a PC gamer. Apparently Cyberpunk 2077 got a new Pro PSSR 2 upgrade this week which is reviewed as really impressive. So if you have the money and time to use the console I’d say it’s worth the upgrade. I can’t see a PS6 releasing the next couple of years, and if it does the PS5 Pro will still be able to run the same games the first few years anyways. The 2TB storage is also a great addition, if you bought it separately to use in the base model the total price would almost be the same as the Pro too

as there is announced a price spike for PS, you could possibly sell the base model for a higher price in the next few weeks also

I’ve already got a Pro, I got one on release day. The latest PSSR update has really made the Pro shine. Cyberpunk might be the next game I play. I’m currently working my way through Ratchet & Clank, my god does that game look good.

do it, bro.

i've played through Cyberpunk 4-5 times now. i fuckin' love it. one of my favorite games of all time.

i've played as the guy and as the chick, and i'm not sure which one i like more. both characters have great line delivery. Reeves is awesome in it. just a masterclass of a videogame. it's really too bad it was so shitty when it released.

I played through cyberpunk when it came out but I hear its like a different game with all the updates now and will definitely play again but I have not even started Ghosts of Yōtei yet. I started trading funded accounts and its like a video game that pays you. Good times.

Oh yes, it even looked great on the base model. Tested it on Pro and was blown away.

Next game I will try to compare is Death Stranding 2. that looked insane on the base model (especially one area, if you know you know) Pro is definitely one of the better purchases I’ve made the last few years

It’s very different. First time I completed it it had a totally different skill tree both visually and perks etc. never seen anyone go so all in on fixing a broken game! Most of the time they just tweak settings and the current content. CD Project Red are amazing!

Sounds like Ubisoft will reveal a new Ghost Recon game sometime this summer. Reportedly going to be set in Vietnam and making the switch from third person to first person.

Edit:

Game will apparently be shifting to more of a hardcore, tactical military sim type, and with a darker more grounded story. More focused on squad based realism rather than big open world sandbox like Wildlands.

Possibly going to be released later in the year or early 2027.

give me another Wildlands any day over a 1st person shooter. Breakpoint sucked.

looking forward to Black Flag, will definitely be getting that one.

i've been playing the 2K PGA 25, about as good as it gets for golf games.

I'd prefer Ghost Recon to stay a third person shooter, but I'm interested in seeing where they take the story. IMO, more tactical and slower gameplay is great. That said, I hope it doesn't become just another first person shooter.

Black Flag is one of my favorite Assassin's Creed. Between this remake, a new Ghost Recon, and a new Assassin's Creed coming out next year, it looks like Ubisoft are starting to take things seriously again. As a fan of the company, this is great news.

I think the last golf game I played religiously was PGA Tour '04 or '05. I remember playing that game with my brother and a buddy all night and trying to get the lowest round score possible. think the lowest round I ever played was something like 53. 😄 It was something completely ridiculous.

4/28/2026 8:40am Edited Date/Time 4/28/2026 8:41am

Iv'e a PS3 copy of Black Flag (was going to mess around with it on RPCS3) and a PS4 copy already (and a Steam copy) - that said I think i'll end up getting this one too, not so much for the visuals, nice though they are, but mostly for the lack of loading screens. Games like this are always so much more immersive imo when the world is seemless. Never liked having to load everytime I went to and from the ocean.

Not a huge fan of the AC series (it's OK...) but Black Flag has something special about it. Ubisoft (whatever you think of them) need a win desperately.

Awesome. It might be the only one I missed. I've played most of the Assasins Creed games but remember thinking I needed to go back and do Black Flag. I could be mistaken. I'm going to look in my history. Im so hooked on these prop firm accounts, it feels like a casino.

I hope that's something they build on more, it was fun but quick to 'finish' that part of the game.

I have 5 Assasins Creed titles but not that one. I'm excited that I get another great one to play.
