You got it all backwards man! We, the taxpayer at large, love paying for $7,500 EV credits so the middle-upper class can afford their $100k Teslas!
I found out just yesterday that Honda stopped making gas powered lawnmowers in 2023.
Honda vehicles are a step behind in styling.

Over in "non moto" they say it's Trumps fault?
From your page go to home and then try to find any gas mowers, they are gone. That must have been an old link.
Honda's downfall comes after they decide to stop building two strokes. Coincidence? I think not.
I have a Honda gas powered mower. It’s over 20 years old and have had zero issues with it. Still fires right up and runs perfect and does a great job.
They were awesome mowers. I worked for a Honda dealer years ago and we sold a ton of them. I have a Honda generator and Honda powered pressure washer still.
I’m in the lawn mower business. The gas powered push mower is not dead. But it’s on life support. I sell electric now. The few gas powered units left are not well made. Honda was ahead of the curve there. Not sure where Honda is on generators. The new ones coming out of China are very good and 1/4 the price of Honda’s. Kawasaki got out and I think Yamaha has also.
Hondas global downfall was already 15-20years ago when they stubbornly stayed with economy cars (Acura is economy+).
I'm not saying cars should be expensive but sometimes you gotta go with the flow.
20 years ago the Germans went with high strung turbos, fast double clutch boxes and (no not maybe reliability) and Honda/Acura stayed put. Well those who are old enough knows what status a Honda Accord, Prelude, CT, Legend had in the 90s (class leading). Fast forward to 2010, HondAcura was not really class leading any longer, but econo boxes styled to look like a German.
I didn't realize Honda produces 20 million motorcycles a year. Wow.
Motocross models comprise about 60,000 of those, or between .2 and .5 percent. Miniscule.
The sales of all motocross bikes for all brands combined isn’t anywhere near that big here in the US.
I’ve always thought that their cars were nice looking (most models), but at the same time I’ve always thought their interiors were very weird and ugly on most models.
Why is Honda losing money? They're missing the EV transition.
Sure you may not be in the market for an EV but that's really not the point. The fact is that the pie keeps getting smaller: globally, ICE market share is shrinking fast.
ICE market share in global car sales was 99.3% in 2015, 95.6% in 2020, 75% in 2025. By 2030 ICE share is projected to further shrink to 60% globally (20% in China, 40% in Europe, 80% in the US).
Any OEM failing to build attractive EV is stuck fighting for a share of an ever-shrinking ICE pie. Right now if your EV suck, you're cutting yourself of 1/4th of the market.
Industrial giants are taking a beating from companies that were much much smaller than them only a few years ago.
Take a look at Honda, Tesla and BYD car sales from 2015, 2020 and 2025.
Honda 2015 4.4M, 2020 4.8M, 2025 3.7M
Tesla 2015 0.05M, 2020 0.50M, 2025 1.6M
BYD 2015 0.45M, 2020 0.43M, 2025 4.6M
So in 2020, Honda was selling 10 and 11 times more cars than Tesla and BYD, respectively. Then last year, Honda "merely" sold 2.3 times as many cars as Tesla and even sold less cars than BYD.
Or to put it another way, from 2020 to 2025, Tesla tripled their sales, BYD multiplied their sales by 10, while Honda sales tanked by 20%.
EV account for 2% of Honda car sales. Their downgraded target for 2030 is to bring that to 20%.
I might buy a $20-25k EV that had a 300+ mile battery and a 10-15 minute to full charge time...might.
I would have bought one at with that price and range (don't care about 15 minute charging) when I worked for other people, but it was never offered. Thing is, if I'd been able to get into something like that, I'd drive it until it didn't drive any more.
