Is he intentionally manufacturing evidence towards a war crime charge?

Or does he truly not understand the meaning of the term?

Discuss.

He spent 93 Billion tax payer money on ribeye steak, lobster and king crab in one month.  Seems like a solid dude.

I believe this was for "staff meals" for military personnel shipping out for combat in the Middle East. If their are itemized reciepts, I dont have a problem with it - but if I'm proven wrong, I'll own it. Your spin on the part of the story you left out is quite flimsy.

Ice cream machines and donuts, while simultaneously telling everyone they're too fat. Also a $100k piano that went to someone's house.

It's the same wasteful spending that Dems complain about when Reps are in charge, as it is the same wasteful spending that Reps complain about when Dems are in charge. The inconsistency is how we know that nobody actually cares about spending, and it's also why nothing changes. Each half of the country doesn't truly care about what they other half does, they just don't like them. However, everyone loves having an enemy as a scapegoat to dismiss their own low quality behavior.

93 Billion in one month? I think you might be off by about 92.98 Billion.

"n September 2025, the U.S. Department of Defense spent over $22 million on high-end food, including approximately $15.1 million on ribeye steaks and $6.9 million on lobster tails.

There are about 450,000 people just in the Army alone, and about a million total in all branches (not including reserves). Not sure who all was fed as part of the program, but when you are talking hundreds of thousands of troops $22 million is not too crazy.

And the "Turf and Surf" meal for the troops is a long standing tradition for deployments. But it is only bad when Trump does it.

motorick5052,

Non Moto has had thousands of threads criticizing politicians and media personalities.

But criticism of Hegseth is where the effort to shut down the thread shows up?

Why is that?

Go back through EVERY thread on Vital…you won’t find a single occasion where I argue/debate/defend ANY of our corrupt politicians (regardless of which side of the aisle they slithered out from!) for what they have done/said/swindled etc and I won’t start now…I truly don’t care what you have to say about Hegseth or any of them for that matter! RAIL-AWAY at all of them if it makes you feel better!
I was merely pointing out that your non-stop complaining about EVERY single inane situation/circumstance is just oh so tiresome and it really seems like a break from it all would probably do you some good!

You yourself posted the best response I could possibly give regarding the observation about your incessant political posting … “Non-Moto has had thousands of threads criticizing”… so … what’s one more right? 🥵
A DRZ ride seemed like a WAY better use of a Saturday afternoon, but I digress…You do you Aplman! 👍❗️

Amen. Any situation where somebody is spending others money...it get's wasted. From a kid with mom's credit card to the local church to school boards to the federal government, when somebody gets control over someone else's money - lookout.

You say you don’t care what people say about Hegseth.

But you still popped into the thread to tell someone to stop talking about him.

That’s an interesting definition of ‘not caring’.

Something about this must have triggered your response, since you’ve had thousands of other opportunities to suggest that critical posts shouldn’t be posted in Non-Moto

Honest question, do you think that it’s bizarre that Hegseth has basically declared that the US has or will commit war crimes?  ‘No quarter’ is a very specific term.  And it isn’t something paraphrased from what he said.  Why did this thread trigger you enough to try to suggest that it should be ignored?

Every now and then, on the carrier…you get a REALLY good meal (especially during the 1st few weeks of a deployment or when the COD had room for a food stash..or, sometimes…other ac are configured to bring gifts)  …after an op or successful mission…it wasn’t unusual to have a nice meal. Sometimes…a REALLY nice meal. Onetime we were able to take linguica back to the boat from the Azores. But, nevertheless…we’ve got the “Oh, my! Look! That Hegseth! He’s spending money!”

Then there’s the story we have here…and the usual suspects going off on their usual lib-led-media misguided bullshit…but, no worries. You go ahead and bitch about the troops getting a good meal and those of us that actually read the details in the articles will continue to laugh at you.

I'm gonna take motoricks words for what he said he means and echo them to an extent.   I agree with a lot of what You post , and agree that giving no quarter is a problem.

But for Your mental health a break and good ride would help You relax and then come back with fresh perspectives.

I myself help my mother who has Alzheimer's so this place is sometimes my break. But I have a mile trail/track on my property that I try and get out and ride  something on it every so often to get a fresh shot of endorphins .

I can not believe that the world is real right now. So much of it feels like a bad movie plot come to life. I keep thinking I'll wake up and be in a hospital and told I was in a coma and dreamed all of this. But everyday I wake up to more news that is just so insane.

Carrier food was good on our week long voyage. I'm not sure I'd say REALLY good 😄 But it certainly wasn't bad.  Having said that, any money spent on the troops I'm good with. I mean fuck, out of all the money they spend on other BS.... I'd make a list but I only have a few hours to waste.

You are 100% correct…on an entirely different point, but correct none-the-less!
After a restful night of sleep and further reflection, I DEEPLY regret my decision to respond to the post…

I asked myself WHY in the HELL am allowing someone or something that exists ONLY in the realm of the internet, to annoy me or have a negative impact on my otherwise happy, fulfilled & contented existence?
WHY am I note practicing what I preach, putting the STUPID internet aside and going for a ride?

You have EVERY bit as much right to post whatever you feel compelled to post about and it’s NOT for me to moderate or oppose your perspective. I should have ignored like I usually do, and I desperately regret spending the few minutes it took to respond then and now frankly!
I don’t care what Hegseth or any of the others are doing as I cannot change it, I don’t believe any amount of obsessing/ranting/bitching about it will have any effect on anything beyond an adverse impact on me, so I choose to let it go, exactly what I should have done here!    (AND…only YOU get to decide for you!)

It’s too bad you moved back to the pacific NW…when you were in north Texas, you were just down the road from me here in the land 0’ the redneck that is Oklahoma, for as far as I am concerned…”Anyone that owns a Suzuki DRZ, is OK by ME!” I would much rather we meet up for a fun dual-sport ride along the Red River basin & then lunch with a cold drink of choice, than continue any sort of internet based dispute.
It’s very likely that if we crossed paths at a trailhead or a bike shop, we’d have a friendly/fun chat about DRZ’s & our shared/common two-wheeled interests! I’d prefer to focus on that than any other endeavor.

I sincerely apologize for my ill-advised comment and I am headed out the door to go practice what I preach and/or shoulda been doing all along anyway…putting the internet aside & going for a ride!
Respectfully! 😎 👍❗️

Didn’t intend for the thread to become a catch-all for criticism of Hegseth, just the specific topic of his ‘no quarter’ comment.

As for the spending issue, the food expenditures appear to be somewhat of a red herring for many people. I don’t think it’s an issue worth spending a lot of energy on. The overall spending splurge by the DoD might be seen differently, obviously. Especially when so many were so vocally sold on the ‘DOGE’ charade not that long ago.

But that’s a different topic for a different thread.

What’s your take on his ‘no quarter’ comments?  Are you comfortable with a senior official publicly talking about ignoring international war-crime standards, or do you think that kind of rhetoric is a problem?

That’s very gracious of you. I actually did get out for a short ride on the Harley yesterday, but I can’t say that it changed my opinion on this issue at all!  I still believe that rhetoric encouraging and in effect sanctioning war crimes is a problem that needs to be talked about, not swept under the carpet.

Hope you have a fun and safe ride!

If you watch any Trump rally, it's literally 99% complaining. Complaining has been an extremely effective strategy.

I’m from a military family. I support no expenses spared to take care of the guys and gals that decided to take a job doing shitty things. It’s not their fault and I’d rather they get taken care of.  But little Pete is just another dork reality tv idiot like little Donnie. How did this happen in the USA? Fucking baffles me that there are this many idiots in our country and these dip shits somehow made it thru the checks and balances. But then I remember it’s all about money, Russia has a lot of money. I think It’s pretty obvious since somebody just decided to take the tariffs against Russian oil and toss them in the garbage. It makes a lot of sense.

Little Pete is a buffoon.

‘Hey news media don’t report on the war unless you’re reporting exactly what we want. ‘

I thought we had free speech.
