Also Vince’s rep precedes him so he doesn’t get the benefit of doubt imo.

Yep, and Vince should have taken up 0 ft because he was supposed to hold his line as he was going a lap down. Tomac had every right to take half the track. Vince is supposed to stay right in this situation.

Friese cross-jumped.  He didn't go all the way from right to left, but he did cross jump.

Tomac drifted right as well, about 1/3 as much as Friese cross jumped.

Technically, Tomac shouldn't have done that.

But, Friese was a lap down. He should have gotten out of the way, or at least held his line.

Overall, Friese has done less damage the last 2 seasons, but he's still dangerous.

IMO, there should be harsher penalties for this kind of crap, with penalties increasing for multiple offenses.

Friese should be suspended from racing for a few races or more.  Provide an incentive for him to learn how to change his ways.

Even if he wasn't a lap down, there's no excuse for cross jumping into another rider.

What? When did Deegan ignore a blue flag? Why even bring him into this conversation…he wasn’t even there…

Referring primarily to cross jumping. Reading comprehension homie.  I'd argue cross jumping with intent to inhibit a direct competitor is far worse.

First, I disagree. Being a lap down is infinitely worse.

2nd, Vince obviously thought Tomac was someone racing him for position, so that kills your argument anyway

I’m calling bullshit.  Vince was alone before the whoops and was absolutely NOT racing for position with anyone close.  Leaders came screaming up with speed.  Not 14th place all of the sudden is top tier speed and came from way back.  gmab.   He knew it was Cooper and Eli.  He even glances back in the whoops as Cooper was past him.  He just thinks he has the right to be there….but this ain’t Des Moines AX…and he doesn’t when getting lapped.

i think we expect too much of lappers and not enough of top pros. i get im in the minority, but i think JT$ demanding on air that lappers always give up the racing line is asking too much. part of racing is being good with alternate lines. pros are not entitled to their precious racing line, sorry. now, this is in the context of a maximum speed delta. i think it should be coupled with a 107 rule and riders should be pulled after 2 laps.

youre seriously arguing friese intentionally cross jumped tomac bc he thought he was a competitor and wanted to run him off the track?

It makes more sense than being a complete dipshit while getting put a lap down. But maybe he’s stupid

It makes more sense than the thing he's been known for his entire career? Really?

He's not stupid, either. He knows exactly what he's doing.

Sure but if you break the lane down into two halves, Vince has the right side 50% and Eli has the left side 50%. Eli stays within his half of the lane and Vince goes outside of his half of lane into Eli’s half. That’s not even to mention the fact he isn’t battling for a position and should be giving way to the leader. Since he’s getting lapped, it should be safe to assume that he would stay in his lane/hold his line, not cut across 75% of the track into the race leader trying to go by.

Except Vince started in about the middle of the track, not the far right.

I guess people have a bit of FDS.

I have watched that clip 10 times, and its a nothing burger for blame.  Its not great for either guy , but there is nothing there to apportion blame .

Its OK to say 'Eli got pitched by the rut' but not the same for Vince, who is also dealing with Moranz ( i think ) in front of him ending up off the track.

Friese is in the middle and goes left, Tomac is all the way to the left  ,and goes right. they meet in the middle. And Tomac went left from the previous jump, to the far left , and then came back.

If you cant see that , i cant help you.

Not saying there isnt a problem, but for that one, WTF do you expect the guy to do , when he is in the top 15?

This is hilarious, for the next 5-10 years, when a person has a complete shit take, their rebuttal will be "you have _DS". 😅

It’s as simple as Vince was on the right and Eli was on the left. Vince doesn’t have free rein of the track as a lapper. The bare minimum he needs to do is stay on his side of the track, which he failed to do.

Vince’s lack of awareness is not an excuse.
