"...“It started out bad, and the second race was still a little rough. Then it came around and was going all good, and for it to end like this is pretty bad, I think. I mean, the last four races he hasn’t been able to match my lap times or anything. I guess he had to do it one way or the other.”..."

From Vital MX's interview with both riders.

Obviously RV isn't thinking it was clean. He's been known to push riders around. I guess we'll see if this turns into bad blood in the outdoors. Man, I hope so.Evil

I'm sure he's bummed. But Canard was behind him and caught up and passed him and won. I'm sure RV assumed he'd win the title, and I assumed he would, too. That's why the run the races.

Too much confidence and he leaves the door wide open. The good thing about being young is that he might learn, but from the sound of that interview the lesson is still sinking in.

after TC's upset win, it should really motivate RV..... we'll see of course... but RV has to be ticked he lost that 125E title to a rookie.... RV might very well pwn the crap out of everyone outdoors because of it...

Considering the surgery he had on his wrist, I think we were lucky to see RV out there at all. Coming into the season, there were rumors of him possibly missing a round or two.

Canard's pass was cleaner than RV's on Alessi at Budds a couple years ago.

I don't care what anyone say's, thinks, or does. Trey Canard is a BUM! Totally undesrving of the crown and should have been penalized for Saturday night AND his riding in Detroit when he was not obeying the blue flags that lappers are suppose to.

I am not a huge fan of either rider. I just know there are rules, and they should be for EVERYONE not everyone but the top 5 guys.

There were 2 instances that this very same pass were made in 2002 and 2003 and both riders were fined AND dropped 1 postion in the race. Exact same scenerio. It's BS and I hope they strip that punk of his title that he doesn't deserve.

When a rider winds up holding a scafold in his hands instead od his bike, it is anything but a CLEAN pass nimrod! I was at the race. It was anything but clean.

TC's back came out and hit him on accident, it was a racing incident, if RV thinks anything otherwise he needs to review some clips from his takeout moves, RV has that 125 Bubba takeout move mentality.

I'm probably a little biased towards RV, but to be honest the only really "wrong" think with the pass was the location on the track. If RV hadn't have hit the scaffolding, it'd have just been another "rubbin' is racin'" move. It's not like Canard was calculating the trajectory that he'd move RV in to hit the scaffolding....

I can imagine why RV would be upset, I think anyone would be in that situation, especially this close to the event. As time goes on, I think he'll probably realize it was simply a tough deal, not anything overly malicious.

The incident between him and MA really isn't relevant here. He and MA have had a history of clashes. He had plenty of opportunity to park TC, but didn't. I think if he is presented that opportunity in the future, he won't hesitate now that a precedent has been established.

I think when Canard says that RV would have done the same thing, he's defacto admitting he hit him on purpose, but contact in and of itself isn't really a bad thing. He didn't hit him that hard, it just happened to be on a bad section of the track to have it happen. But now that he's shown he is willing to bang it up, he's probably not going to get the kid's gloves treatment anymore.....

He definitely earned this title!

What a cry baby!

If I'm racing for a c-ship and the guy in front of me is my competition...I'm going to do anything to pass him. Less pussies = better racing.

Trey prayed harder than Ryan, that is why he won, God chose him, not RV, to win. I can't believe you all don't see that.

Ok if they did penalize Canard and drop him 1 postion he still ended up finishing in front of Villapoto and winning the championship so why would they take the #1 plate from him?

Watch it yourself. I was AT hte race. He pushed Villipota out so far he could do nothing except hit the scaffolding. It was completely dirty. Even the riders that did not qualify for the main were calling BS.

Not to mention Detroit where TC totally disregarded ALL the blue flags for the las 6 laps and didnt get out of anyones way. He is a total bum.

If you can not tell in that video that he left Ryan with only one option, your blind. If he really thought he was that much faster he should have made his move somewhere a little less risky than the face of a huge jump.

How is being AT the race going to be any more accurate than slow motion video?

I gather you did not watch it then in the video did you? Also if that was dirty what did you think about K.W's pass on D.V if you consider that dirty? As far as the pass R.V could have let off and saved it he decided to take a chance and hold it on it was his own fault.

It's the Pro's people. It gets rough sometimes. Trey's hard work is paying off. Hopefully some other young guys will see his results and kick it up a notch.

With that said, I think RV will smoke the field outdoors if he is 100% healthy.

It's pretty obvious that Trey's rear wheel lost some traction while trying to get the drive to make the pass on the inside like that. Fortunately for him, Villo was there to be the berm and help him out.

A Champion is the one that does what it takes to win at all costs.

Good on Trey for doing what he did. RV would have done the exact same thing, and for him to piss and moan about it shows what a bitch he is. Hell, Hannah would have put him over the berm, stopped, then pissed all over him before he lifted the #1 plate.

Love him or hate him, WordNerd had an excellent article in the new RacerX discussing this very thing. If you get a chance, read it.

Fuck the whiners, this year Trey was the man!

It is put out in rider meetings at every race about agressive passes on or near jumps. Especially the finish line jumps and both triples.

Tv shows in slow motion. You can't just back off the throttle while going up the face of a jump at 40 MPH. Whoever suggested that one is a complete bonehead.

Where is yours? Does it have a SX endoresment on it. That very staement from you tells me exactly what a joke you are. You have to earn at leat 100 points in AX to even attempt to race at an AMA SX race.
