It was in 1k see the race ? How far back he was then the huge lead. New Olympic record . He’s not done winning either...

Has anybody else here seen that the ski jumpers are injecting their penis's  to get extra size . They were saying that an extra couple  MM can make an impact on how far they fly. Crotch gate , not just for Camron McAdoo anymore.

There is info on it if You watch the video or search on google. I thought it was funny that such a small increase in size helped with how far they jump.   The sizeing of the suits and how tight they are  is in the rules. And a bigger suit gives more lift. According to what they were saying.  The skiers are only allowed a certain amount of slack in the crotch ( I think they said You are allowed 2-3 MM of space in the crotch area).. And that gets measured by somebody  who enforces the rules.

Haha!

Yeah, you left off the part about increasing the crotch material in your first, so I was scratching my head. I didn't know how they determined how much one could have.

thats understandable.  Its hard to see the differences unless you've spent a lifetime viewing and or participating in the sport.  It'd be like a layman watching two of the top SX riders on a hot lap and asking him what differences he saw.

Its one of those rules that's funny it has to be a rule.   Who knew that bigger balls ( the entire area of the suit) would literally make  difference in how big of a jump Your able to do.

Turns out  there might be some science to  the saying " It takes big balls to hit that jump".

Exactly!

These aren't bunny runs on rented 130s. I'm watching the women's Super G right now. Super flat light makes bumps going into turns dissappear... at 65 MPH.

A ski flying jump in the UP of Mi. Had its 139th yr of competion.., since 1887.  The ski hill pics of me jumping big air was the 700 ft land part of the jump.  My dad knew the guy who jumped it 1st.  In wooden skis of course.  In 99 I tried to join the ski flying club in the UP.  You start on smaller jumps & work up. Sucked that the club was temporarily shut down .   I found a wooden pair of skis on the farm in the 70,s.  I started on small hill 1 run then hit big hills.  Leather straps to hold your regular boots. Pretty difficult to turn good but it was a blast .

Boardercross! 😃

Is what we watched last night. Good stuff, but.....when the American executed a perfect block pass on a Euro, ...IT WAS TEXTBOOK PERFECT...the Euro fell. So they black flagged the American after the race.

I guess there is no contact in boardercross. I suppose looking at the sport it would just turn into roller derby if they did.

Does anybody else have a wife who has never heard of the Paul brothers or the Tate brothers....or has never heard of Onlyfans?

My wife.

Sucked that the club was temporarily shut down .   I found a wooden pair of skis on the farm in the 70,s.  I started on small hill 1 run then hit big hills.  Leather straps to hold your regular boots. Pretty difficult to turn good but it was a blast .

As a kid I took my moms old cross country skis that were wood. And my feet were already a size 14 at 14 and I couldn't find any shoes/boots in my size back then. So I took an old pair o sneakers and some big washers and screwed the shoes to the skis. I went out in the woods for hours everyday.  They worked great .

Then some buddies got some downhill skis and we had a big storm that dumped close to 4 feet followed by freezing rain a few days later.  That turned the woods into small ski hills and paved like areas. We built small jumps  and spent days out there. All the bushes and smaller trees were covered in snow so it made it possible to go all over.  Jumping and going down even the smaller hills was tough on the old cross country skis. No metal edges. all wood!

We also rode our bikes on the snow. It was frozen enough that the bushes and swamps were big pump tracks and it was like the woods were paved. The only bad thing was that after a couple days soft spots started showing up so we would randomly fall into the deep snow. And big endos were common followed by trying to get out of a drift after flipping over the bars and breaking through the ice crust into the deep powder . Or sometimes we got even less lucky and instead of going through the crust into a pillow of deep soft snow. We would hit a hard spot that was still like concrete. But it was so much fun riding places that were impossible to walk in the summer. It was worth the crashing.

We were able to ski the small hills most of the winter. The skis kept us from falling through. Then I got a pair of downhill skis with boots that didn't fit. I tried using my regular boots and the bindings held ok, but not great. So I made a sled out of them. with angle iron for brakes and turning. I just put some boards into the bindings and a couple to connect with a piece of foam for a seat. We hooked it up to a buddies XR350 and we went all around town. The police pulled us over about 300 feet after we left my house in the center of town.  But let us go and we spent the day ripping around the back roads on the packed snow. Then sections started to be bare pavement and  the edges would leave a shower of sparks as we went across them.  We got pulled over 3 times that day and just told to be careful and not get killed. We managed.  That sled was one of the most fun things I made as a kid. we got going 60MPH according to the speedometer on the old XR.

Women's Snowboard Cross on now. Saw 1 run, pretty cool. I didn't know it was in the Olympics, thought it was an X games thing

It's been an Olympic sport since 2006.

Too bad that US guy tanked in mens figure skating. He was pretty classy in his interview and actually admitted that he was over confident.

I thought the same thing! Pretty bold to self anoint yourself the “Quad god” then skate like the quad-tard at the Olympics…Otherwise known as THE biggest stage for your event!
At least the kid showed good sportsmanship and class by sincerely congratulating the competitor that won the event, AND had the courage & humility to do an interview right off the ice and admit he was overconfident coming in and in his words “blew it”!
He seemed like a good kid and I bet he will likely learn from this experience and be back for the next Olympics skating with humble humility in the future! 🤪 👍❗️

How about Jorrit Bergsma from the Netherlands? Old man power for the bronze in mens 10,000m. Guy is 40 years old and won the bronze. Oldest speed skating medalist ever.

The last down hill men’s race was Incredibly competitive.  They showed the racers getting ready, Very intense.   I got out X country skiing .  Conditions where horrible constant save it from slide outs. People walk ovr the track & it was slick.  It was a blast though.  Bay beach wild life sanctuary 1 side of the st they hv deer, turkeys , etc not sure what kind of wolf but there huge & white 5 where playing chasing each other. It warmed up so the animals where having fun.  It’s close to the Bay c pic the bay is ovr my shoulder. Free skiing a few buildings with animals & stuff free also.  A lot of water didn’t check it out thousands of geese , ducks in warm weather.  IMG 5287 1

Haven’t been able to watch for a couple days but … If I keep watch hockey I am going to need some good gummies to mellow me out! Some crazy Intense action!

Was watching a down hill slalom this morning and the #1 guy messed up and started throwing his poles and walked without his ski’s over to the edge of the woods kicking his own ass

Haven’t seen what the medal count is
