From Matthes on TWMX:

My sources say that Kyle Regal is flying at the Yamaha test track and will be a top ten guy “for sure” and when I asked about top five, the source who is a guy that knows things, said “possibly.”

Top 5 thats awesome, so he is quicker than everyone but

Reed,
Stewart
Dunge
Villipoto

and faster than

Windum
Millsaps
Short
Canard
Metty
Grant
Weimer
Brayton
Alessi

That would be cool if we can add Regal to the list of guys running top 5 this year, the top 5 list this year has to be the longest list ever in AMA history, can only mean one thing....

The only reason I still come to Vital and check up on things is because I can see all the results before the races even happen. It is amazing! The cool thing is though, this year is absolutely stacked with wildcards. Basically 1st-20th in the main are wildcards, even though the guy who goes the fastest, and doesn't crash, is still going to win!

Doesn't it seem like every year we hear out of the blue camp that "XXXXX is really hauling, fastest lap times and will be a dark horse surprise?"

If he can nail some good starts, there is no reason why he couldn't be top 10 or better.
The kid is talented.
I'm really looking forward to following his results and I hope he stays healthy for the entire season.
Also props to L&M for taking this kid under their wing.

i could see regal being the josh hill of the other year, at the beginning of the year anyways when JHill was riding so solid.

Regal is honestly so strong, probably one of the most fit out there, not to mention how much more drive he has from growing up as an underdog. that fight doesnt go away and on lap 16+ when other riders are pacing them selves regal will click another gear and podium!

We hear that from every camp Dave. They ALL seem to be hauling ass at this time of year.....and they are! Only difference is....some of them are hauling ass just a tad bit more.

He looks good and can definitely get in between some of the big names this coming year. Man, I can't wait for Anaheim.

Put # 30 on your list, he is going to be up there this year.
That's the way he rolls!

If the nationals are anything to go by he might just do that.

everyone looks fast in practice videos. I think he'll be top 10 most of the time, maybe... but a top 5 would be a stretch I think. Nationals, yes, but I think there are much stronger riders in supercross. I think behind (and sometimes with) the big 4 guys you'll mainly see Canard, Short, Windham, and maybe Weimer.

All those guys are fast, one day you could be top 5, the next outdside the top 10... and you could be riding just as good.

Regal will be quick - so will 15 other podium contenders... it is going to be a great season!

This seems right to me.

Everyone should have their bike dialed in this year. Training has become top priority again. No reason to think there won't be 20 guys on the gate every week that can put in 20 good laps.

In the video he definitely looked fast. I dont think he will be a top 5 guy but definitely a top ten.

Top 10?? maybe

Top 5? No Way!!!

I wonder if his bike will get the same goodies as Stewart's does. Won't matter too much I guess as he killed it as a privateer outdoors. Every little bit helps though. A trick bike brings better performance technically and mentally imo.

Btw - a podium is not out of the question for this guy. Not consistantly, but a real possibility.

Everyone always talks about the same riders every year. They arent that great. SHort has to be the most over rated rider in history along with Tedesco. Time for the young kid to shine and it will happen.

Gotta agree. Top ten would be a huge accomplishment for him the way this year is stacked. Podium? I think not.

Thats just dumb. Short the most overrated rider IN HISTORY?! Shorty is what he is, rock solid consistent and finishes every series in the top four. Nobody ever picks him to win the title so how is he overrated? As far as IT goes though, I agree. If he finishes top ten he should be happy. He will always be a National champ though.

I think top 5s are possible. Cmon, 17 rounds, on L&M yamaha, + injuries, Kyle Regal is talented, he'll find a way into the top 5 atleast 2x.

Yeah you're right, a top five or two isn't that crazy when you put it that way. I still think a podium is a big stretch.
