Dear (huck),

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention and sharing your information with us.  We are sorry to hear that you did not have a good experience at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, AZ during Feld Motor Sports’ presentation of Supercross.  We are aware that some guests have experienced similar symptoms as you described.  Supercross has raced safely for the past seven years in this venue, and followed the same operational procedures this year.  We coordinate with the venue in advance to maximize ventilation for the event and did so this year as well.  We are therefore working closely with the venue to try to understand what may have contributed to your symptoms.

We do hope you and the guests in your party are feeling better.  In appreciation for your patronage, we would be happy to host you and your family at a future Feld Entertainment event in the Phoenix/Glendale area.

Please send us your Seat Geek tickets/confirmation email, or a photo or scanned copy of your tickets showing your seat location inside the Stadium.

Once we have that information, we can assist with a future tickets offer.

Sincerely,

Feld Entertainment, Inc.

I received a survey request from the Stadium.  Check your junk mail.

Yeah but I got my ticket from Mark.

I'm not going to have a feld history.

Yeah, my eyes are pretty screwed up again. Not nearly as bad as when I made this thread a few years ago, but my buddy and I both had red eyes and lots of irritation after last night. State Farm is a fantastic stadium for supercross but this is only place I’ve had this issue.

Oh boy. It’s Minneapolis all over again. Except isn’t it warm there? Why wouldn’t they be piping the air in and out?

It's as simple as they just needed to open the ef'ing roof further to let some of the shit in the air blow out and some fresh air in quickly - or reduce the pyrotechnics - it's not like they are anything special.  Do a laser light show or a drone show.  It definitely wasn't as bad as 2 years ago, but it still could have been MUCH better.  The weather was perfect outside.  Just open the ef'ing roof.  Probably didn't need to open it all the way, just more than it was.  I could feel the AC was on and they were trying to make it better than years past.

Found this thread after going to Glendale last night. Have all of the symptoms that people had in 23. I don’t think I have ever had irritated eyes from an SX race. My wife and I were in the industry section. Her symptoms not as bad but still congested and red eyes. Anyone have the issue this year?

They could just open the top. Or go to chase field… and open the top.

YUP. Sure do. Was wondering the same thing. I was also in the industry seating.

Edit: I’ve gone to this race probably 5 out of the last 7 years and it’s never been an issue for me.

Hope you guys feel better…. Not to be a Karen but after Minny last year and this situation this is a huge risk for Feld and staying in domes. You can’t have people (and especially kids) coming away sick from your events.

I think the new term the kids are using is a Jennifer. Karen is out.

Yep I agree with this.

The dummies that run that stadium need to have there IQ CHECKED! How hard is it to figure out if you run chinese pyrotechnics and do not ventilate the stadium PROPERLY along with toxic race fuel fumes that you're gonna have issues.

Why they only open the roof this much boggles the mind.

Edit: By the way I took this picture with the intent of showing how ridiculously small the gap in the roof is opened. Oh, and to show those lovely chinese fireworks fumes that everybody loves to breathe. 🙄

Everyone is free to use this picture to send to the idiots at the stadium.

Crazy that there is absolutely no reason to not have the roof opened 100% when weather conditions allow especially this race where there have been issues in the past.

I’ve been to many races over the years and not once have I had this issue before. I may be a Karen but no eye drops or medication have touched this pain.

It’s not healthy man. Breathing that stuff can’t be good for you. My best friend just passed away young from a neurological cancer. Makes me extra cautious, but I don’t want to breathe burnt lead.

We went with some friends of ours, my wife and I were fine (noticed the smoke and fumes but it's a SX race) but our friend said she woke up this morning with swollen burning eyes and throat. Her husband was fine. So I guess it just bothers some people and not others.

That they didn't open up the roof all the way, on a beautiful day, is shocking to me. I get that they kept it closed during the afternoon part (they probably didn't want it to get too warm inside and they would have to kick on the AC system).

But once the opening ceremonies started we kept waiting for them to open the roof, and nope. Really fucking stupid on their part.

Dudeee my girlfriend & I woke up feeling like a sack of dog shit. Fully congested. It’s been getting better but still feel under the weather. We were also there in 2023 & had the same symptoms.

It’s super frustrating for sure. Yeah the roof was open but you could visibly see the poor air stuck in the stadium. It wasn’t going out.

sucks cause I like going to Phoenix but definitely won’t be going back after 2x experiencing this. Not like they care considering they had a record turnout last night.

Are they trying to keep the noise down outside?

That opening should be enough but there needs to be an opening at the lowest level to create a natural convection to carry the smoke and fumes up and out.

Do you know how much power that roof uses to open? Aren’t we all liberals on here trying to cut down on pollution?

My friends and myself all have burning red eyes today and some slight congestion. I’ve been to a few other stadiums and never had this issue. Has happened multiple times over the years at State Farm though.

I posted this on the race thread and a couple other posters are experiencing similar symptoms; but is anyone else’s eyes screwed up right now? Since the end of the night, my eyes have been irritated beyond belief and my nose has been running non stop. This is my first experience in a stadium like State Farm and wondering if anyone else has had similar situations and what they did to help relieve the symptoms.

Holy cow yes! I posted in the night show thread about it as I hadn’t seen this post. Air quality was terrible. Roof was open about 20 yards all night. Way worse than any supercross I’ve been to.

I don’t think it had anything to do with the pyrotechnics. I walked into the stadium at 1:30 and the exhaust hit me like a brick. I’ve been to ~25 supercrosses and have never really been bothered by it. My eyes were fine and I didn’t have any of the symptoms others here have posted but the three guys I was with all did.
