What was his shit behavior? Do you mean his honest interviews? Because we don't know if he gave up, maybe the bike was so backwards, that you got arm pump and ran out of physical power after 10 minutes.

Explain what was his shitty behavior? And what about Kawasaki that leaked time after time again how much work Tickle was doing (Tickle was in his prime not fast enough, so how useful his test work is. I dunno). How much the engine builder was doing... (Dunno how much he did, I only know that he wasn't very professional on social media attacking a former rider that way.) I also see that the PC pipe is now totally different, build to give what Prado asked...

I'm by the way not emotional evolved, I followed Prado because he was always one of Jago Geerts competitors.

PS: You can't ignore the fact that a lot of people where claiming that Prado would never end higher than Marchbanks in Supercross. That Prado would never end up in the top X (some claims where more ridiculous as others). So don't be this surprised that fans but also European mx fans get even.

Only speaking to your test rider comment... Ryan Morias wasn't Dungey speed, but made invaluable contributions with testing.  The exact same can be said with Trey at his current level.

This drives me nuts as well. I never said he wasn't fast on a dirt bike. I knew that already. I piled on him for his behavior last year. I thought it was petty and childish - my bad I guess. Now there is all these eat crow threads and everyone saying "told ya" like people were pissed off and saying he sucked at riding. I will admit, there was a bit of that from some, but the overwhelming majority did not care where he was placing, just that he wasn't trying and that those shitty results might have been a bit better if he just grew up and became a man about it and tried. There is always a legit way out of a contract. That was not one of them.

I will also say, I like him a lot more this year when he is trying to be in the mix, but I still feel like him not addressing it is the pussy way out, and from what I saw last year, that will probably be the way he chooses to move forward.

Yeah I agree completely. Too many people seem to take criticisms of his attitude last summer as shitting on his abilities but they are two completely different things.

Do people really think if somebody is going to pass you, you should just pull over? You should make it difficult for them, shouldn't you?

Haha no. It's what I usually say to my friends after they say something condescending to me.

If Prado is doing this well in supercross on the bike he had to be on, I think outdoors is going to be special. I question if Jett is going to dominate starting at Pala.

Depends what Jett is at Pala. I know this was a nasty injury. Nobody can touch a full strength Jett outdoors. Nobody

In the end of the day, Prado made all the pundits look like absolute idiots. The consensus from them was that he wasn't gonna make it, at the very best his ceiling was a 5th to 10th place rider. Well he became a 3rd to 10th place rider in his 6th through 10th ever supercross race.

None of these people have admitted that they have completely fucked up their assessment and revised what happened last year. Prados very aggressive defensive riding is an other thing, well known for anyone that has followed him the last decade. So it's easy to latch onto his defensive riding.

You keep using the term ‘apologist’ like he has something to apologise for. He is not the first rider to go to a team and it not work out, he’s not even the first rider to go to Kawi and it not work out, and he probably won’t be the last. You might not like the interviews he gave, but if you and look at what he actually said, there was nothing there that a team of that stature shouldn’t be able to handle, he was honest, as he always has been throughout his career, and so far he is backing up what he said.

Nobody at Kawi would front up to the media, if a similar situation was unfolding at Honda (not that it would) or KTM, Lars or Ian Harrison would front up and explain what is going on and what they are doing to fix it, or at least try to. The way someone in a position of leadership should do. Kawi used their friends in the media to make sure the narrative was in favour of them and all the heat was on Prado. Prado had all the incentive in the world for the Kawi ride to work out, and it only took him about 7 races to realise it wasn’t going to work. He gave up probably in the region of $6-8M by leaving Kawi and the narrative some would try and have you believe is that he did that purely because he couldn’t be bothered. Which is absolutely nonsensical. Prado had a video ready to go to explain everything from his side and Kawi wouldn’t allow him to release it, so they can continue to write the narrative and he can’t do anything about it other than perform, which he is doing.

By the way, they managed to find 20% out of that bike that was so great last year, changed basically everything, and even with that, Sexton has one podium in 4 races, that’s worse than every season he’s had in 450SX apart from his rookie season

The issue is that most of the people that are critical towards him and last year completely disregard the other part of the story with Kawasaki not doing "everything they could" for him etc. Kawasaki failed Prado just as much as Prado failed them.

As half of the people in the US voted for Xenophobia I assume it's a factor in everything that happens in the US. If we can assume that every European will receive hate of half of the american people. Than perhaps that fact has become mixed up with the real story.

Nah I've been defending the guy this whole time and still think there's MUCH more to the Kawi issues than we know.
But the cross jumping is not cool. There's no excuse for it. He'll either learn to hold his line quickly or he'll find out the hard way.

If you watch the latest LvK  with Ben Watson, he says that all he was allowed to change was gearing when he was at Factory Kawasaki.

It became obvious to Prado he was never getting what he needed.

You are also disregarding the fact that Kawi never publicly said anything dispariging about Prado and continued to put 100% effort into trying to get the bike to his liking (whether they are capable or not doesn't matter). while at the same time Prado was complaining publicly about the team and bike....the final straw was his attempt to purposely not qualify.... I get it, he didn't gel with the bike and was never comfortable on it and wanted out of his contract....but there are way better ways to do that behind the scenes, out of the public eye without damaging either party...but he chose to make it public, he chose to try to not qualify...he chose the path it went down and that is why I lost respect for him although I consider him to be one of the elites when it comes to talent on a motorcycle his charachter  is what is questionable....

We are working, the team is working, no doubt. I can’t blame the team for no effort because they are putting in maximum effort and trying their best’

‘I’m racing with Monster Energy Kawasaki and we try to be the best we can every weekend and we keep testing and we try to get better, so that’s our goal’

Direct quotes from his press day interviews at Washougal and Unadilla. Not exactly publicly complaining about the teams efforts. Did he complain about his feeling on the bike? Of course, but what are we even doing here if a rider cannot be honest about that? He said he would be better if he had more comfort on the bike. He now has more comfort, looks way better and is way better, so he wasn’t lying.

99% of riders in MXGP give interviews like he did last year and everyone gets on with their jobs and nobody gets butt hurt about it.

Yet everything you hear about both teams is the same.

Ben didnt complain because that isnt how he works, but its safe to say that a guy who led races on the Yamaha, and won the MX1 class at the MXoN was way better than the bike allowed him to be, and he deffo quiet quit, when you cant even get the basics changed to suit your style, why should you stick your neck out to make up for it.

And Ben's complaint about the Kawasaki was the same as Prado, no bottom end at all, you cant ride it on the throttle in tall gears.  That is not hard to fix.

We knew at the time what a shit show it was, but you cant say, same as all the other one year wonders on the green bikes, in MXGP, or the likes of Weimer etc in the US.

It will be interesting to see how Marchbanks does for the rest of the year, Sexton will Sexton no matter what bike he is on.

I’m just pointing out that the narrative that he was publicly criticising the teams effort is not true. Whether or not they were doing enough behind the scenes is another story. As I said previously, he gave up $6M+ to walk away from this deal, whilst he isn’t short of money, he doesn’t have nearly enough to give that kind of money up lightly

You may question his effort on the track, but this is a dangerous sport. He looked about as uncomfortable as I have ever seen a rider look, relative to their normal performance, and I don’t blame him for not riding over the limit and risking injury trying to push for a level of performance that simply wasn’t there. He still did enough to finish 6th in points btw

It is not about his results on Kawi....why is that so hard for people to understand...The below is his Insta post that pissed off the Kawi mechanic that responded calling him out for quitting and his lack of effort....

P-6 Overall in the @promotocross standings.

It was a very tough season to say the least.
Cruising around every single race was heartbreaking for me, especially knowing my capabilities…
Never felt comfortable on the bike, not even a bit! This builds to an unsafe feeling on it.
Didn’t expect this year to go this way at all.

Happy to be in one piece and fit.
Hopefully we’re back where we belong soon 🫡

Do you actually think that Prado instantly went public with the complaints? You really don't think he urged the team to make changes, do stuff internally for weeks or even months before going public? It's obvious that he did it and saw next to zero results, so he got fed up and went public with it.

We're in complete agreement that him trying to not qualify was a joke, he should've done what Vialle did and parked the bike. But Prados behaviour was a culmination of internal issues that were just as much Kawasakis fault as Prados.

Btw Chase Sexton is the latest source of proof that Kawasaki has had internal issues with bike development (interviews done by Lewis). These things are on record, same with Weimer and the Tomac family.
Fortunately for Sexton and Kawasaki, it seems like they have finally realized that they need to change. Thus the PC input etc.

Ah yes, a post where he states the complete obvious that everyone in the world can see, and yet again, does not criticise the effort of the team.

Taking the stance that the team is completely blameless is a far more ridiculous position to take than any of those taken by people you would label ‘Prado apologists’

Taking the stance that the team is completely blameless is a far more ridiculous position to take than any of those taken by people you would label ‘Prado apologists’

You’ll never convince them just give up lol

If Prado had lied, and gave everyone canned , generic answers, nobody would care. Americans cannot handle euro style honesty and blunt delivery.

If he got on the camera and said, we’re gonna go to work, we’re working on things since my injury, new team, new bike, new tracks, we’ll keep working, and thanks monster energy Kawasaki,

Everyone would be fine with him, but he’d still be on a bike and team he hated. He did exactly what he needed to do…

So he stuck his fingers in his ears and stomped his feet while screaming like a petulant child until he got what he wanted. I can see why you're such a big fan, you must be so proud.

Riders should be more open and honest... Rider being honest... What a brat!

Another rider faking an injury so he doesn't have to race his KTM with unreliable rear shock. COMPLETE SILENCE. Same rider being very critical on Honda, KTM and after his first race with Kawasaki... also COMPLETE SILENCE FROM THOSE FANS!

Now it's an American thing because we can't understand European bluntness...but yet we are the ones being blunt and not making excuses like these clowns....the dude quit, he put it all on the team and bike as we all know there is no possible way Jorge has any fault "especially knowing his capabilities" I'm out enjoy the fight with these 🤡 🤡

And according to you there is no possible way that the team has any fault, despite a rider being willing to give up $6M+ to get off the team and the long history of riders struggling on Kawi world wide and the massive changes made to the bike from last year to this year.

Mind blowing stubbornness and stupidity

I’m not sticking up for him, but he wanted a change so bad that he gave up 3 million a year from Kawasaki, and 1 million a year from Fox.

There must of been some reason for it.
