It’s a thing. I don’t think he will ever fully trust it again .

Looked like he clipped the jump off the table and had no drive up the next.

Roczen said the track was sketchy and he hoped they would clean it up. Eli was pushing hard.

Reminded me of chases wreck during motocross last year, like a false neutral but maybe got clocked back into gear during the crash

No Roczen said “if the dog wouldn’t of stopped for a poop he would of caught the rabbit” 😂😂

Not a shock fade dude. Eli just said he stomped the brake in the transition.

Nothing like creating a thread with zero data. Scratch Eli’s off the list. If it was fade, how did he look so good after, and all the other time tonight?

Wait... isn't that mandatory on here? 🤔

Why would anyone believe Tomac over Tyler D who is so core that he wears his O'Neal jersey when he goes to the local SX race.

You don't know whos in my pfp?

Roger is the godfather. Remember when Marvin lied about holding up (ironically) tomac so dungey could win?

If the rebound damping failed, you'd see a bottom out to pogo stick, with the rider going over the bars and feeling loss of drive at the rear wheel, like hitting the rear brake or coming up short on a jump out of a corner.

That's entirely different than Plessinger's and Tomac's crashes, They had an inexplicable loss of drive on a jump out of a corner and a rear brake endo.

its not a binary thing, you can have a loss of damping without total failure. this was a known issue during sexton's time on the team. if the case here, it doesn't take much to throw a rider off, figuratively and literally speaking. someone please correct me if i'm wrong, but noone else is using a twin tube design in their rear shocks, a la the stillborn Showa BFRC. fancy poppet valves that allow high-speed rebound adjustments are cool and all, but the shape of the damping curves will be different. once the valve opens, i think you have less control over the damping force versus a shimmed mid-valve in a monotube. it's possible they are much more susceptible to changes in oil viscosity as a result, and perhaps lack the instant damping control from VERY high--shaft-speed events... like a 3rd gear g-out completely bottoming out a supercross spring rate set up for 75kg+ monsters like sexton and tomac.

this may be part of the reason why no one uses an Ohlins TTX for supercross either when they dominate on road...

from WPs ad copy for this stuff:

Functionality: The TXN adjuster operates by adjusting a high-speed rebound tube inside the shock, which affects the damping characteristics during fast rebound scenarios (e.g., hitting multiple bumps rapidly).

Controlled Rebound: Closing the TXN adjuster increases high-speed rebound damping, while opening it decreases it, providing precise control over the rear wheel's behavior.

The latest technology delivers a significant benefit: a smoother, more confident and comfortable ride with less physical strain. The rider also senses more grip traction on the rear wheel and can accelerate faster. This WP-generated innovation represents linked damping system technology with TXN adjuster, which guarantees more controlled rebound damping. For the first time in a serial production rear suspension unit, and in addition to the well-known, state-of-the-art rebound adjustment, the rebound characteristics can also be adjusted in highspeed damping situations.

This is the newest generation WP works shock, which is present on all three of Red Bull KTM's 450s, and as of San Diego, it also popped up on Hampshire's bike. Most will assume, somewhat correctly, that this shock was built to eliminate some of the fade or other mystery shock problem that has plagued KTM over the past couple of years. While the team denies that's the main reason, we've seen a few. However, the main design elements are based around the "Best of" the numerous amounts of WP shocks that the teams have tried over the past five years or so. WP put in a large amount of effort this off-season to take feedback from all their programs and came up with this unit, bringing the best attributes of production, kit, and works units.

I don't get how Herlings big ass isn't getting shock fade but Sexton is.

Tom talked about it in his interview on the main page that the GP guys are not having the same problem it's only here in the US and he can't really talk more about it without getting in trouble seems like they know what the problem is and just aren't willing to fix it!
