I noticed a while ago that Ferry’s old place in Dade City seemed to be abandoned. Sad to see, as it was once an awesome setup tucked in the woods not far from Dade City MX.
A quick search on the throne shows that they sold it to an investor/developer (Quill 115 LLC) back in 2022, which explains the condition it is in today. Quill filed bankruptcy last year. I have no clue how all this stuff works, but maybe an opp for someone in the moto world to pick it up on the cheap and restore it to its former glory?

Looks like lots of neighbors at the top of the photo. I wonder how they felt about the track/s.
A nice modern build sitting empty growing weeds like that is a big bummer!
It's a fair question and others like Reed and Rattray have had noise issues with neighbors. Those houses have been there for a long while and are likely used to the noise, as they are sandwiched in between Dade City MX and Ferry's place (lower left). That's not to say they like it, but quite possibly aren't able to do anything about it.
Never discount new neighbors moving in and raising holy hell about anything and everything. See GA airports int he US, Laguna Seca etc etc etc

They sold it back in 22, it was supposed to be flattened and the neighborhood they were building on the other side of their driveway was supposed to expand and take over all of the houses and where the track was, but everything went upside down when the developers went bankrupt so it all just sits there abandoned now. RedDog and Evie always had that place perfect. Was honored to spend many years there back in the day working with riders like RJ and a bunch of FL kids. Lucky for me now RedDog lives about 45 minutes from me and just finished up a new place up here. The Ferry Family is one of the best. Honored to be able to call them friends.
Having neighbours who choose to move in while a track is active is one thing, but try starting it up again after a few years of being abandoned and you can just about guarantee all hell will break loose.
YEP, PEOPLE WILL COMPLAIN ABOUT ANYTHING. IVE ANSWERED NOISE COMPLAINTS ABOUT TRACTOR TRAILORS RUNNING ALL NIGHT AT OUR STATE OWNED FARMERS MARKET. AND THEN THEY COMPLAINED ON ME AFTER I TOLD THEM THAT WAS THE REASON THE PRICE THEY PAID FOR THEIR HOUE WASNT TRIPLE WHAT THEY PAID!
WELL OF COURSE YOU’RE GOING TO GET NOISE COMPLAINTS IF YOU’RE ALWAYS YELLING
Motocross tracks are rarely highest and best use of a piece of property unless it is built in a flood plane or something like that that limits possibilities.
I suspect that is especially true in florida.
Just because it is sitting empty and owners are in bankruptcy does not mean you are going to get it at a deal.
Reality
The only track that I know of that withstood noise ordinance/complaints/lawsuits etc. was StartWest in Southern CA.
The track was there long before the tract-housing showed up across the street & for a very long time the track one of the few sources of revenue for the town.... When the neighbors started complaining after moving in LITERALLY across the street, the city straight up told them they knew what they were buying & had no grounds to demand anything.
I do miss that place. One of the few tracks that did Saturday night racing that had you in the gate at 4:00PM, on the track at 5:00PM for practice, and back in the truck by 8:00PM heading home with a smile.
I rode there in 1993 and had a blast! They actually had whoops! I hope it reopens at some point.
I doubt that'll ever happen the city doesn't need the money anymore they allowed it to be overcome by Mega warehouses!
Lot of great memories there riding with my kid!
Definitely agree that's by and large usually the case.
Which is why a lotta folks here in central Ohio were genuinely shocked to see Honda Hills opening back up a few years ago after being closed for about 15 years. This is even after new homes had been built close to the track while it was closed.
