Is Pourcel Racing??

Edited Date/Time 1/27/2012 5:11pm
If he is not, that is just a shame. He is without question as talented as any rider in the 450 class. I know I read that he was supposedly looking for a ton of money, but honestly who is his agent and why did they not get a deal done? The industry should be ashamed, along with him and his agent. Why is PC so cheap to not put him on a PC 450? He has won titles for them. Maybe I am wrong and he is racing.

He overpriced himself, and PC does not have a 450 team! Injuries and health could be a reason also.

PC isn't being cheap

I'm pretty sure Kawasaki has said no to them running a 450 team.

He wants to much for someone unproven on 450's

hopefully by outdoors he mans up and comes racing

Well that is a shame. I would bet on him top 5 at A1 without question. I do understand the no PC 450 team. Just saying he is a lot faster than tons of guys racing, so that sucks for us fans.

I reckon he'd do o.k. on a 350.

I don't get that at all - Kawasaki squashing it. Seriously, what single bit of upside would there be for Kawasaki to do that?

1) Don't know what PC gets from Kawasaki, they make their race parts in house.
2) It would be more publicity for Kawasaki

That doesn't make any sense, I call BS.

Serious, it has been in magazines and even Mitch has talked about it

1. Serious you can't work out what PC gets from Kawasaki....How about funding and bikes.

2. It could be more publicity, but what if the 450 PC team starts beating the factory team, factory team doesn't look so good any more does it

3.so you can run and tell that, homeboy

Sounds like BS to me.

Look @ a team like Yamaha, they completely supported San Manuel, even before they cancelled their factory team. Honda supports Windham on Geico. When Stewart beat Hill or Windham beat Short, did it look bad for Yamaha & Honda. Kawasaki's main competition with other Kawasaki's, it's the other brands. I think PC had a deal set-up like that for Hansen in the past. homeboy.

If Pourcel does not show up to A1 (and we havn't seen any riding video's have we) he will be completely forgotten by round 3. This is the worst move that I can remember in recent history.

Coulda had an A ride for decent money but will end up with a C ride for even less money. Man ,this is a deal gone all wrong.

He is racing Lites here in the States again this year.
However, he did race the 450 @ X Games in the past and also Down Under.

Maybe CP is gonna follow in JMB's footsteps and go race road bikes or whatever he did???

That way, we can always talk about how he was the GREATEST THAT NEVER WAS!

Don't know why people keep suggesting this? Reed has gotten a really late start on bike testing ... and now has all the headaches of managing and funding the team, shopping for sponsors, etc.

About the last thing he needs right now is the further distraction of adding another rider who is even farther behind in testing.

BTW - has Ozzy snuck in any posts here since he joined the 22 team?

Ask GuyB i'm sure he'll know what the go is.

But I have read an interview and Mitch basically says that kawasaki said no to a 450 team, and he was saying how much he wanted on so he could keep the talent with him.

Yeah they had a deal set up for Hanny, but it wasn't a 450 team was it. It was for X games and Super X.

Easy there guys. He's not doing too bad for a pinscher.
Those paws aren't made for typing, you know.

Only kidding, mate. I couldn't resist - unfortunately.

I wonder if Adidas is coming up with enough coin to get Pourcel onto a TLD 450...

Interesting theory, That'd be cool to see. If they were negotiating with 22, Then they can probably get something together for 377.

You guys need to listen to some podcasts from the guys in your sport and you'd hear it from the horses mouth. Mitch has said on multiple occasions Kawi doesn't want a direct competitor running and possibly beating their factory effort. It's one thing to give bikes to a team like H&H or TiLube, but having a mirror almost-factory team would be bad business if say it had Pourcel and he was consistently beating Weimer/RV. It makes the factory look a little silly and say more for PC than it does the brand.
