I heard on a podcast ( I think it was vital, but may have been one of the Mathes ones) that Jcoop might be out at Star next year (which would make sense, moving up Deegan and keeping Webb). With that being said, where are some logical spots he could end up?

Without too much investment, I think he'd slide over to Monster Energy Kawasaki. Provided Garrett doesn't meet their expectations, it could be an easy way for Jcoop to stay on factory equipment.

Triumph would be a great fit in my opinion.

My first thought: Is Marchbanks on a 1 or 2 year contract?

I believe it's a 1 year deal.

I thought the talk was a 2 year deal because he did not want to risk everything on a 1 and done 450 deal.

I like Cooper Webb but if his sx season don't go as well as Justin, would he not be the better option to keep since he is pretty good outdoors?

Kitchen or Macadoo to Kawasaki 450 before anyone else.

Marchbanks talked about it on Steve matthes pod before season started. Doesn't sound like rock solid on second year but can be earned easy enough, was kinda vague about it.

Makes sense considering old Star Yamaha guy Jeremy Coker is there now

Coop is riding very well to start this season. He's just had shit luck. He was leading A1 when the red flag came out and he certainly looked primed for a top 5 at least in SD until Chase took him out. Coop looks lean and they let him race the same bike he had last year. I think Coop is a contender to repeat again this year.

It would suck for Jcoop to leave the team he has been with 10 years or more, bad move in my opinion for them to let him go at this point. Webb is likely on his way out after 2027 (I would think?) All signs point to Kawi bringing up Kitchen in a year or two, so he might end up like Savatgy for AC if he goes Kawi. Triumph would be a great fit and be the "A" rider there.

Justin is the better bet in the long term than Webb, especially for outdoors. I happen to think that Justin will finish ahead of Webb indoors too. For Webb I get the feeling that is is hard to get up at 5 am to do roadwork when you're sleeping in satin sheets.......he is a bad ass no doubt but if he doesn't start to get up there, like this weekend, the climb is going to get real steep.

They both need to win a title or be dominate in the 250 class before they even think of moving up much less to a factory 450.

Jcoop is the better bet outdoors. He's the only rider that made every race last year and rode his balls off for Team USA on short notice too.

Cooper Webb rode his balls off on a 250 the year before to get us on the podium. He also is an outdoor champ and has a win outdoors. Maybe JCoop will pass that, but you can't say JCoop has a better outdoor career at this point.

Regardless, JCoop, right now is a second rider on a factory team. He could keep rising, but he is a great second rider. The only way I see him staying at Star is if Cooper goes SX only in 2027. Which I still think could happen and then everyone is happy. Deegs is Rider 1, JCoop rider 2 and Webb gets to stack a few more years of SX only money and ride WSX. Other than Max, what other rider could Star bring up to a 450 in the next 2 years? Other than JCoop, what current 450 rider would take his place in the next 2 years?

I heard the expectations to get the 2nd year on the deal is hard, doable but hard. I thought I had heard that Mitch would take him back if he doesn’t get a 2nd year at factory Kawi and that that was a big reason he did it. Correct me if I’m wrong.

They would still have to hire another guy tho cuz there’s no way Webb keeps doing outdoors

How long is webb signed for? They really going to pay him big money to go SX only and finish 8th? Jcoop as the second guy that stays healthy and is fine with living in Deegan shadow might be better fit overall.

I've never understood kitchen being penciled in as factory 450 guy. He's had a very Shane Mcelrath like 250 career and see him having similar 450 career as well.

makes more sense to keep webb who is a 450 winner.

justin cooper is already 28 so it's not like keeping webb is losing the potential of a young dude on the rise.

Didn’t the red flag come out on the first lap?

J Coop to Triumph is a match made in heaven. They don’t even need to develop the bike for skimming whoops (I joke). But seriously, he would be so good in that spot.

Webb may go the SX only route in 2027 aswell which means they could possibly keep J Coop there
