Where does it go from here?
Of course it’s such early days, last night could just be a blip and he is just as likely to win next week.
I, for one would prefer to see him challenge the podium than do what he did last night.
But, let’s hear your predictions about how this develops between now and May.
On another note- his crash in the heat was plain weird. I saw a video from behind and I can’t make out exactly what happen and why- does anyone have any other video of that crash?
My guess he is doing his own program by outdoors, similiar to what Reed did with 22 Motorsports
Let’s see, set fastest time of the day. Was riding well during the heat, crashed in a rough section and finished where about where Webb did. Had a couple issues in the main and didn’t finish where he was expected to. Not a great start but definitely could be worse. Pretty sure he’s going to line up next week and give it 💯 again
WP Forks showing up by round 3.
You appear to have misunderstood the point of the thread..
we all know how it went last night- this thread is about predictions on how it’ll develop from here.
All angles are of interest to me. This isn’t a sexton bashing thread, which I assume you think it is..

Give CS a few races to adjust, he’s gonna be good. And maybe the horrible optics of A1 will help motivate Corporate Kawasaki to double down and support their new (expensive) star rider so they both get a good return on their investment.
I still think CS will be top 3 at the end of the indoor season.
next race is key for him. Do NOT let this go like the outdoors where he lost his goggles, fell apart, and dropped out. If he comes out next weekend with a podium, he'll be fine. If he gets 7th, Kawi has a real problem. That bike setup looked horrible last night and Marchbanks not even making the main is not the best look while Prado is on the podium.
I think it’ll go like seasons past. He’ll get some wins, he’ll get some podiums, and he’ll have lots of his signature choke out moves. How bad will they be? Who knows.
Chase is going to have boneheaded crashes no matter the brand.
The bike is absolutely fine. Chase has always been laser focused on finding the "perfect setup"! Guess what Chase, there's no such thing, the track changes too much on race day! The 2 best racers to ever do it , RC and RV, have said many times that they would just get the bike in the ballpark and not touch it after that, and then they would figure out how to ride it. Chase needs to hire DV once and for all, end of story!!!
My predictions are Sexton will go on to win races and #1 plates and make millions of dollars.;;
Anybody else remember around 2018 or 2019 when Roczen was coming back from two really bad injuries - Honda HRC renewed his contract and the vitards were callling for KROC to retire
It was one race, he showed his speed but simply had a rough race. Starts didn’t help him either.
Prediction? Podiums and wins throughout the season.
He will have some success at Kawi, there is no doubt about that, he will win some races, but I’m not sure he’ll win a title and that is his aim. Long term I’m not sure a rider as picky as him and the most stubborn, inflexible team in the paddock is the best match
Setup. They'll get it closer in the next couple races and he'll win eventually.
Chase being chase. Been this way his whole 450 career on different brand/teams and people expect it to change?
Everyone is focused on Prado/Sexton but few have mentioned Jason A's ride to 5th. Kawasaki has to be a bit freaked.
That said, Sexton will win a few this year. He's too good not to.
Increase torque on the loose screws inside the helmet
ya'll are frickin amazing armchair analysis
He did look pretty bad, very rigid and untamed. I think he was freaking out and made him ride worse. He took a pretty hard hit too and that didn’t help
Looked like he landed going into the up-face of the bridge on the front tire, and it washed out pitching him with his forward momentum while the ass end was still off the ground
Pit Row
BOOM!
And let’s be honest, Sexton’s gonna Sexton. That’s just part of The Sexton Way. Same as it ever was.
He’s gonna be a threat to this championship; because, he’s Chase F’ING Sexton.
I still think he will win the championship. But looked like crap last night.
It was headcase Eli on Vital as he won races and lost championships to Dungey.
Chase will work this out. Even with those crashes he still salvaged a ln 8th with all those mistakes one position behind Webb. Neither him nor Webb can have many more finishes like that and be in title contention with though.
Death. Taxes. Chase tucks the front.
@LewisPhillips you have your work cut out for you this week with your bestest bro. Defining moment of your journalistic career at Vital to get the inside scoop before Matthes.
my personal opinion , all bikes goona have their weaknesses & strengths on any given track , their motorcycles after all BUT….. last night was very evident tht it was never fully Honda , never fully KTM & now we on kawi in the yr of 2026 and he’s still doing the same shit , ma fucka it ain’t the bike , ITS YOU‼️ chase keep making the same mistakes over and over whether he himself don’t kno how to setup a bike or he’s just in his own head , now hes goona bounce back as expected cause hes a beast but all this bike bike bike shit gotta stop & just adjust to wtf “YOU” doing wrong
Its only one race. Right when he crashed in the heat race I sent my buddy a text " Sexton just sign with Star Yamaha " .
But really there have been worse first rounds by all timers . I think he will be better on the Kawasaki than he was on the KTM . He was really gelling with the Honda after he signed with KTM before his contract ended with Honda. They had the bike working amazing for him before he left. And I think the Kawasaki will be better for him and is better for him.
I had picked Kenny or Hunter to win last night. It looks like Tomac fixed the issues I saw him having at the WSX rounds. I thought he may need more time to get comfortable. Webb really surprised me with his aggression. I think that next week Chase will be leading laps in the Main and on the podium if not winning the main. I'm not sure that Chase will be dramatically different on the Kawai than any of the other bikes. So I kinda expect rounds like last night followed by rounds that he is untouchable at.
You can't win the title at the first round, but You can lose it. Hes healthy as far as I know, the first rounds in the recent past have not really been indicators of who would win the titles. With Barcia grabbing a bunch of A1 wins.A rider like Chase that very often ends up crashing or winning having a bad round and a crash is not really a surprise or sign of how his entire season will go.
Anderson's ride to 5th was great but he did get 3rd last year on the Kawasaki.
Sexton will be fine as will Marchbanks.
I spoke to him. All coming up on the podcasts.
So, did he say when he was quitting Kawasaki?
😂
