Kawi local contingency cut

FYI, kawi greatly decreased their contingency for local Mx and Offroad events for 26.

I’ve got a few buddies that rode them mainly for local contingency.

Last year, local 30+ A class hare scrambles were paying $300 for first, now it’s $150.

Sprint enduro was $1000 for first in 30+ A and paid back 5 spots, now it’s $400 for first and only paying top 3.

Claim his bike got stolen again, rip more people up, then buys a new bike.

Then magically the stolen one appears and then its for sale

Yesss NGPC went down from $1,000 to $750 to win A classes but B classes went down $500 to $150 to win. Ooof.

Local series went down $300 to $150.

The one I’m bummed on is WORCS. it’s a pretty competitive series & rumor was Kawi bucks were going up but they also cut from $300 to $150.

I don’t believe NGPC or WORCS pro class was cut at all  but not 100% certain on that one

Their payouts got alot of people on green in our local racing series, so mission accomplished there, but I was wondering how long the big payouts would last. Now let’s see if kawi can keep their new customers. I’d wager they don’t.

It was good while it lasted!

Honda did the same thing a few years ago, 2020? had a big payout then the well dried up.

Probably gonna see a lot of '24-'25 KX's for sale.

Fewer number of races paid as well.

From what I saw locally, the big payouts caused a lot of sandbagging last year.

They used a lot of the 26 budget for cuntingency on the new 2st marketing campaign

thats probably where a lot of it went. I remember in an interview a lot of the Amatuer funding for Suzuki was diverted to RC4's contract since its in the overall racing budget.

Contingency i feel is one of the biggest drivers for those paying for bikes and racing at all levels. I know many guys who changed brands to help offset costs.

Though Kawi still pays more than other brands. I think Honda or yamaha is the worst, paying $75 for local event wins, KTM might be right there also

It makes a bit of sense from a business standpoint. Lower the rewards/contingency until you see it effecting sales then go up till you find the sweet spot. Sales were up 13% last year for Kawasaki and they have a ton around me locally.

Ktm is 150 store credit for a win in lower classes. It may be technically parts credit but our local shop lets you use it for anything they sell. Ktm covers a lot of off-road series. Which around here means you can get contingency in almost every series. I think they pay cash for pro classes.

They will be extremely cheap, considering how cheap the ‘26’s are selling for

Idk why people who try and advertise their business also put out political statements on the same forum. Do you think more people are going to buy?

They are hard to get as well.  They told us we had "too many races" last year but gave our sister district contingency and they had almost double the races we did.

You think that's bad. You should've seen what he said about Charlie Kirk. I'm surprised he's still posting.

You are not a motorcycle insider are you.

You guys can down vote it all you want but it is the truth.

I deal with all the local dealers who you guys walk in the front door of and they ALL tell me about all the price increases that have gone on inside the motorcycle industry due to tariffs. I would suggest that you Go talk to your local dealer about it. When the motorcycle industry talks about it you should listen.

BTW my prices have only increased 1 time in the last 25 years since I stopped being your local motorcycle dealership mechanic and owning a suspension company.  And it was due to shipping costs not tariffs .

So because I am a motorcycle business owner and have ridden dirt bikes and raced since the 1970’s that I should stop paying VitalMX every month for advertising and keeping this place going???

As for Charlie Kirk I do not have time to follow any talk show hosts so I knew nothing about him other than he was a talk show host that was assented. I have NEVER commented about him till right now.
