Had to have been RC’s final SX
Read some of the comments above your last post of people that saw it in person. I just remember seeing that photo for years before AI. I understand your skepticism because of all the AI stuff these days.
So I just googled. Think we were both kinda right. That photo in the original post is 100% AI, but it’s a remake of this photo, which is real. Compare the Honda logos and Unadilla part of the rear fender.
Thank you for taking the time to find this metz!
Half the shit you see on Facebook is AI, and it's often AI for absolutely no reason, because a real picture already exists of what they want to show.
Be careful out there guys.
First time im seen this picture. Good stuff and thats a enthusiastic flag dude.
What's going on there? You back in the good old days doing wild things???
Short version, Maico Break-O, the ramp got leaned on the seat, and you can guess the rest lol
I actually didn't know but I did some guesstimating googling and came up with Vegas 1997.. Unfortunately the camera is set up on the outside of the exit of that particular corner and the contact was hidden behind some tuff blocks but check it out here if ya still interested.. (at the 54ish minute)
Great race.
Weird they had the good angle and only replayed the aftermath.
I do like these two : Bob Hannah at Saddleback in '83 on an RC250. Hitting hard / coming up a bit short (?) on either Suicide Mountain / Banzai Hill (one and the same, or, names for the going up, and going down routes?) .
I've always wondered if the photographer you can see in the 'from LH view' pic, is the Photog that got the 'from RH side' pic, and, if it were taken roughly at the same time as the LH side :
Note the (very) different leg positions on the above pic!
AP Washougal 24 Kaaa...wump !
Pit Row
I knew I had seen that before AI was why I didn’t question it. It also has CRE on the seat instead of CR. Yeah kinda scary.
We recreated this one 50 years later. Rio Bravo in Houston. Same starting line, same trees. OG photo is from the 72 Trans AMA with Ake, Mikkola and Brad. Our photo is from the 22 AMA District 20 Championship Series. My son Ethan Hughes #27, me, nephew TJ Hughes and Landon Summerlin.
The Original Nac-Nac!!
Can I post one of my own? 😁 First turn action at Glen Helen '07. Shot on film, no digital trickery involved other than color correction and spotting of the scanned film. OG peeps like FTE or Diesel Bomber might know how it was done. It ran as full page in Dirt Rider back when.
This is Richie Owens KO'd in that sandwash section at Glen Helen in '06. It was sickening and such a HUGE relief when he eventually got up and walked (with help) off the track. Tech: Shot on film with a Pentax 67 (no kidding) and a self rigged tilt/shift lens. Ran as a full page in Dirt Rider.
Washougal 2007. James Stewart, the agony of defeat.
