Been that way for a few years already.
When I was in high school 6 years ago we were not allowed to wear shorts... in Texas. The girls wore them to short so they wouldn't allow anyone to wear them (WTF?!). No facial hair, no colored hair, no piercing unless it was a girl with ear piercings and so on. Welcome to conservative Texas, we've been waitin for ya. Cool

I´ve seen countless bikers wear that helmet, without being nazi´s. In fact, the helmet was first introduced in 1916 during ww1 - in a time when the word "nazi" was unknown. The fact that it´s called a nazi symbol is down right stupid. It´s a German helmet - nothing more.
The SS was an elite division, some of the best soldiers the world has seen. And the individuals did not have to be nazi in oreder to be enrolled, they just had to make it through the gruelling training. To me the SS symbolizes skills, dedication, fear and obedience.
And runes are what? nazi symbols? LOL, tell that to my forefathers....
When I first saw the MM logo I thought it looked dumb and "hardcore", but in no way did I think of it as pro-nazi. They just wanted to stand out as a group of individuals without brains, intellience or common sence. To me they fall into the same category as rappers - full of shit but very little to back it up with.

No, the SS had to vow loyalty to the Nazi party, something the regular German army did not have to do.

"The Nazis regarded the SS as an elite unit, the party's "Praetorian Guard", with all SS personnel (originally) selected on the principles of racial purity and loyalty to the Nazi Party.[3][4] In the early days of the SS, officer candidates had to prove German ancestry to 1750. They also were required to prove that they had no Jewish ancestors. Later, when the requirements of the war made it impossible to confirm the ancestry of officer candidates, the proof of ancestry regulation was dropped."

Deegan's comments in the interview posted in this thread confirm that he used the Nazi symbolism on purpose, and meant it as a Nazi reference. That should be enough for rational people to steer clear of the message of hate.

Using it as "shock marketing" is not a valid excuse any more than putting out a line of clothing called "KKK Klothes" with a picture of a black man swinging from a noose would be.

wrong. This was not practiced, but it sounded good on paper and on Wikipedia. Read some books on the subject, preferably from former SS soldiers and you will forget these clishés. Early on - yes, it was a disired feature, but when time came for the SS to be a working force, this was not practiced. Many SS soldiers were recruited from occupied countries, and these men could not prove any ancestry to Germany.

Also, many did not now anything about nazi ideology. Many simply joined because of the Bolshevik threat from the east. The same threat the Allies "fought" from 1945. This matter is not all blacl and white. A bit OT in this thread though...

Are you saying all SS soldiers are/were guilty of the holocaust? Most SS soldiers were damn good, and arguably the best soldiers of the war. Many lost their lives in Russia and on the retreat back to Germany without necessarily fighting for a nazi ideology, just obeying orders like their enemy colleagues were. Few SS soldiers were dedicated or used for the holocaust. But hey, the victors write the history, right?

the ss were pure scum,no matter how much "they were only obeying their orders" and "not all were nazis" makes their crimes okay.

you´re not answering the questions, and you´re avoiding the points. I bet it messes it your perception of German soldiers. Like there was a "nazi chromosome" roaming Germany 70 years ago, but thanks to our awesome allied scientist, we got rid of it, and for that every German today is "cured".
And for the record, I´m not so sure you should blame the SS for the worst crimes committed in this world. You might want to look closer into ethnic cleansing and other war crimes in the history of man.

I disagree. They were the best soldiers of WW2, and they were not all nazis. The hundreds of thousands who died in Russia were not hand picked because they were nazis. Anyone could join saying they were. So young men tried to enlist in what was obviously the best forces due to the prestige it was to carry the SS emblem.
I think some people are confusing the SS and Gestapo

The SS and stuff is pretty interesting, but I think basically we've nailed down that the Metal Mulisha's shirts promote Nazi ism, and that kids can get kicked out of school for wearing them.

I don´t know what history you´ve read but it sounds like high school books. Pick up a few books by historians, some by the men themselves, and find out what really went on. Hell, even talk to a few and hear what they had to say! People have a crazy idea of what the German people was like 70 years ago. They were just like us, only they had been supressed for years because of a war they were dragged into. Like I said, there´s a big difference between being a national socialist (which many understandably were at the time), and a nazi in the context we (allied side) use i, when we usually think of the men as supporter of the holocaust and ethinic cleansing.

The fact that the troops were afraid of the SS was testament to the skills these troops possessed. And as the best troops Nazi Germany had, under a totalitarian regime - of course they had to be supporters of Hitler on the outside. But the reality was that not all were nazi´s, but the pride of being a part of the (at the time) best troops in the world by far outweighed the "nazi stamp". Being a part of Hitlers personal "guard" and the best troops can be compared to what people think of marines. Everyone wants to be a marine, they are the "tough guys", but not everyone is let in. Do you think boasting "I don´t approve of our armed international involvement", will get you anywhere in the marines?

I'm all for being a rebel and edgy, but I've never liked how far Degan and the MM have gone.
I don't know if they are Nazis. I wouldn't buy their shit either way, However The scumbag, skinhead, white supremists in the Riverside county area have embraced their clothing and Image. Thats a fact !! I guaranty the administrators aren't looking at the source of the clothing as much as who's wearing it in the schools

All of the SS were nazi's what are you talking about? Saying the people in the SS just wanted to be part of the elite is not a valid argument. They only took the best, ok fine, but that doesn't change their goal.

Many Nazi soldiers hated doing what they were doing, is this the point you are trying to make? That is common knowledge, and I don't think anyone here is arguing against a specific Nazi soldier, more so the nazi ideology and anyone who would support it in any way.

Now you are being to general. Like I said earlier, it´s not black or white. People are saying they where 110% nazi and the worst scum on earth, which is far from the truth! They were the best soldiers and contrary to populistic belief, their primary task in WW2 was not to carry out the holocaust, but to fight on the battlefield as the best Germany had. Of course it would be nice if they all fit the "arian ideology and nazi belief" but to get the best soldiers they had to choose the best, not the ones who suited their ideolgy. It´s down right wrong to say the SS was carrying out the holocaust and therefore they were scum. That´s what I´m arguing.

I have a problem with it. I'm pretty surprised none of you do.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schutzstaffel

The Schutzstaffel (German pronunciation: [ˈʃʊtsʃtafəl], Protection Squadron), abbreviated SS—or Runic with stylized "Armanen" Sig runes — was a major paramilitary organization under Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party. Built upon the Nazi ideology, the SS, under Heinrich Himmler's command, was responsible for many of the crimes against humanity during World War II (1939-1945). After 1945 the SS was banned in Germany along with the Nazi Party as a criminal organization.

They wore the skull on their hats as well.

You seem really educated on Nazi Germany so you must realize the leader of the SS, Himmler I think, was also the guy who came up with "the final solution". The SS had total authority over the concentration camps. The SS certainly started out as a protection service for Hitler, but they were the best and grew one of the largest military operations in Nazi Germany. So it is easy to see how different units of the SS could be on the battlefield, and in the concentration camps at the same time.

I think Nazi Ideology is scum, and anyone who actually agrees with it is scum. That doesn't mean that all SS were scum, but it's easy to see why people feel that way. Like it or not the SS was a major part of the Holocaust.

Back on topic, I can completely understand why MM gear is being banned from schools. It doesn't seem like a "free" country would ban something like that but nobody really believes we live in a free country do they?

MOTOXISTENCE, lighten the fuck up. Holy shit man, people bitching like you are the reason the world is populated with pussy political-correctness.

I rarely post in topics that are NONMOTO, which is where this pile of shit thread belongs, but I just had to after reading about so many peopole crying over the SS and the National Socialists.

Yeah, some Nazis and some SS members and leaders were responsible for THe Final Solution. SO what, that doesn't make all of them bad.

And I've had family who were both tortured AND hunted by the Nazis, but I don't get all fucking butthurt when a clothing company has things in their logo that LOOK SIMILAR TO nazi stuff.
