I’m doing all sorts of mental gymnastics to justify a KTM Factory edition, when I did indeed spend the same on a mountain bike that I still need to pedal earlier this year. I suppose it’s just what the market will bear. I got a slight discount on parts (it was a custom build), and paid pretty much full freight on a mid-range gravel bike this summer, so either I’m a bad negotiator or the higher end of that market isn’t as impacted as the other segments.

I see what you're saying but a KTM factory edition is still less expensive than some of the really high end cycling offerings. When I was shopping for a road bike the guy at the store tried to sell me on the latest S-Works that was 10k+ and in my head I was thinking that I could get a new 450 for that price. The cycling world tries to up sell customers on carbon bling that does nil but in moto you do get what you pay for for the most part.

In MX the best way to not out spend yourself is to not constantly swap bikes. On one hand its good that we have a motivated sport that is willing to buy new bikes but you really don't need a new bike every 50 hours.

but you really don't need a new bike every 50 hours.

Hey, lower your fkn voice, my wife is in the room.

Fasstco is running a 20% off on their site. Picked up a new bar from them.

Is it me or are the discounts pretty low this year?

BF and CM are borderline irrelevant now.

That’s exactly how I feel. It’s not just moto either. There are a few good deals out there but most are pretty weak and not big enough to motivate you into spending money.

Theres just a lot of other opportunities to get things at a discount throughout the year. Seems every holiday has a major sale around it.

That is so true! I scored better deals throughout the year at random times compared to what is being offered for BF and CM.

For us, we have had multiple price increases over the year in our cost of goods. We haven’t raised our prices at all to our customers. We have just soaked up the increases which have obviously cut into our margins. We are doing everything we can to keep the cost to our customers as low as possible throughout the year. I can’t speak for other companies but for us 20% was what we could do to cover our operational costs and pass something down to our customers before the holidays. Hope this explanation helps a little. I think every moto company could use the support right now of our consumers. Happy Thanksgiving!

I think 20% is more than fair for your kind of product. Tools are not cheap. However, for graphics, clothes, etc, I think a 40% discount would entice a lot of people to place orders.

Then shipping kill’s you too. I went to order some graphics that were on sale, but they wanted $25 to ship them to me. I guess that’s why I shop rmatvmc a lot as it’s easy to reach the free shipping threshold pretty easily.

Bro this kills me because I shipped some flat documents in a mailer and it was so cheap. I have no clue how D’Cor needs $27 to ship what essentially is 20 sheets of paper to me.

keep in mind this is how companies make money. What they charge for shipping is not what they pay. That $25 bucks may only cost them $5 for example. Just anther way to get you. I went to dinner a couple times in the last week and both places have a small sign on the door saying they are going to add 5% to your bill to help against rising cost. But you can ask your server to remove it and they will. Sneeky shit!

I hate the current commerce culture/relationship. Every time I go to practically any business I feel like I’m getting taken advantage of. I just stay home. I know the proprietors and owners are facing costs as well but $21 pizzas and $5 black 12oz coffee is getting old.

Anyways, economy sucks, get off my lawn, yada yada🤣

I took my two year old son to get a burrito with me yesterday and they charged me $7 for a small side of beans. I was outraged 🤣

I couldn’t resist……..$472 bucks or so before tax for Ride Engineering 22 degree split triple clamp for my 24 KX450.  I wanted Luxon but for that price I couldn’t pass it up.  I didn’t buy a bar mount.  I need to go back to the Ride Engineering site and read about bar position.  Not sure if I need a bar mount or not.

Why is shipping for throttle syndicate $15 minimum? Seems a bit pricey for just a number plate. Also, why is there even an option for a tip?
