I think that many people see him trying to block the release of files that may or may not contain info that shows he is a pedofile and make the connection that he is either protecting pedifiles or is one. And in many people's eyes protecting them is as bad as being one.
WIth his public 180 on blocking the files and publicly asking Republicans to vote for the release, it will be interesting to see what happens next.

I hadn't heard that part yet. It really shouldn't matter which party You are a part of. That's not the part that matters to me. And I'm sure most people would want to know if somebody they voted for or are considering voting for is connected to a giant pedifile ring.

In just a few hours today going through the proper government channels both house and congress have voted and green lighted so its sitting on trumps desk tonight.

The investigation into Epsteins co-conspirators was dropped and the DOJ released a statement to say that a 'systematic review revealed no incriminating “client list.” There was also no credible evidence found that Epstein blackmailed prominent individuals as part of his actions. We did not uncover evidence that could predicate an investigation against uncharged third parties'.
In August (just a month after it was revealed Trump had penned a suggestive 50th birthday message to Epstein alluding to secrets they shared) US Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche twice met privately with Ghislaine Maxwell and she was inexplicably transferred to a cushy low-security prison in Florida, against normal Bureau of Prisons policy.
For what it's worth I don't believe Trump is a pedophile. It's pretty obvious that he and Epstein were close for a period of time and that they both enjoyed the company of younger women - they were millionaire play boys! - but I would be shocked to learn that he was involved with anyone under age (knowingly anyway). Whether or not these Epstein files contain anything damaging to Trump, who knows, but his behaviour and actions over the past year naturally raises suspicion.
