Funny that the keyboard warriors who do not run a team give their opinion of why this won't work out, yet the people actually paying the bill are considering hiring him....maybe just maybe what we hear on the internet regarding burning bridges, hard to work with, not giving bikes back, no indoor skill etc isn't as true as perceived and is just internet gossip. Hope it works out for him. He has insane speed.

Matthes said that Mitch sent bike boxes to Ty to return the bikes and it took forever for them to be returned.

Apparently Ty goes missing every now and then and doesnt respond or inform the teams as per pulpshow

Who else does Star have that can get results? Davies and judging from the outdoors only Mosiman it seems. Deegan is gone and all the new next best things are not the new best things.

Ty is 1 of 7 riders to win a 250 MX moto straight up in the past 2 years. Say what you will about Bobby but it doesn't seem like he's real emotional about riders having left his team. J-Mart and Coop both bailed and he welcomed them back because he thought they could still win, seems as simple as that for him.

This isn’t coming from what we hear on the internet. This came from former team managers and conversations that team personnel have had with moto media. Ty and his father are difficult to work with and it’s unfortunately hurt his reputation.

But the person writing the check doesn't seem to mind if he is giving him a "try out" so I find it funny that Vital members are acting like they've invested in Star and don't approve the choice. Regardless of what people have heard or media members have said, the owner of a team is open to the possibility and wish Ty success.

It’s called having an opinion dude 🤦🏼. When someone shows you who they are believe them. Ty has shown over and over that he/they are difficult to work with, only want to do things ‘their way’ and don’t communicate well.

He’s talented at least outdoors.

Gotta remember too, The family has already lost one son to this sport, That maybe why they never want him to far from the home compound.

I understand that Sog. I remember how hard it was to continue racing after watching a fellow racer die in front of me at the Springfield Mile. Let alone my brother.

I get that. The trauma from being close to incidents like that is real. I have experience with it as well. I think in this sport and most action sports at the highest level you either need full commitment and acceptance. or hang it up.

I think masterpool will end up being a what if guy in the sport. What if he trained with the team, what if he left Texas, what if he started SX earlier…. A good talent that was never fully realized.  Was real fun to watch him as a privateer on the ktm in 2023, or maybe 22?

I agree on the full commitment part, That's why I was relieved when my kid said he just wanted to ride for fun.

they've got a couple rookies coming in right?  minear?, and one more I thought? didn't they poach that Kawi rider? Gordon, or Gibson cant remember which Landon it was.  Thrasher has gotten results before although fairly inconsistent.

Thrasher, Cole, and Antsie can run top 5 outdoors and maybe podium at any given time.

Ty can get you fastest qualifiers, battles for the lead and can almost always run near the front these days outdoors.

The only people for sure with Ty's pure outdoor top end speed potential or higher are Jo, Chance, and maybe Levi. Some rookies or younger guys will probably step up but just looking at the last two seasons that's probably the truth.

Star has plenty of guys who can win SX races and who have already but no one coming back who has won a 250 outdoor overall

Something wrong with our amateur system, I don't know what. Tripes, Lechien, RC, Stewart, etc., this sport always had plenty of fast teenagers coming up, some challenging for championships immediately. Now not so much. Seems like Australia, NZ have a few comimg up.

Done well at pc?? So he won a nat a couple years ago is doing well?? He was basically non existent in 2025... never been a title threat and rides like a Martin in sx.... then there's all the weird health issues... idk man...

Racing 3 times a year doesn’t quite hone your skills nor prepares you for a full season of racing

Outdoors only on a bonus heavy contract and move to the farm is the only way this has a chance of working, otherwise the best predictor of the future is the past. This will also work for the team, there will be a couple in sick bay by the end of indoors who can’t answer the bell for motocross

Love the guy, but it’s either do something like this or go all in on a title in Canada. The meat grinder of SX doesn’t work for Ty

Besides Max, he'd do no worse in SX than the rest of the Starr rider.

They all rode a lot of local races.

Tripes and Lechien both rode a lot of pro races at 15 years old and continued once they turned AMA pro.

Our amateurs race 6-7 times a year, Europe races year round. It’s sad, right now America has no real fast teenagers coming up, Europe has a few.

Is it possible riders like Tomac, Herlings, and all the other 30 somethings in the sport have extended careers because no new blood is arriving fast enough to dethrone them? I know medicine, training, etc., are better, but still it makes you wonder. Bradshaw won premier class SX in Japan at 16!

This is where things get twisted. Don’t know the guy or his program. But, from what I know he isn’t in breech of contract and the bikes were not due back/still aren’t due back. Never heard about him going missing either. So this is just skewed information as far as I know. But hey I’m only human.

If Masterpool is going to Star, it’s sounds like he might be willing to start training at other places other than his place in Texas. Maybe he’s loosening up a bit, and getting more of a team mindset, instead of lone wolfing it.

I think we’ve actually gotten smarter and it’s extending careers. There’s no reason to jump on a 450 as a teenager unless you’re THAT good and guys like that don’t come along every year or even every 5-10 years. Guys getting on 450’s later is extending careers imo.   That and the number of seats available. The amateur pipeline has a lot of riders to choose from, and there’s only about 40 coveted seats between both classes to put those riders in and only a few of those seats opening every year.  We are getting to a point where we could use another class.

Edit plus with the new age rule we’ll almost never see a teenager riding the premier class again (unless they come from Europe, Lucas Coenen) or are as good or better then Deegan/Jett.
