RC stated in his DMXS interview that has a lot of respect for Dungey, Poto, and Reed, but points out that James is still the favorite and man to beat.

RC like everyone that follows mx knows that James Stewart is still the fastest man on he planet... Anyone who doesn't think Bubba is the favorite is lying to themselves. That being said anything can happen come A1!

All the time JS has had off. I hope he manages to set his bike up for A1.

Nonsense! I read on internet that JS7 is all done. Too old , too rich, too famous, and that TV show is slowing down his bike.

Huge RC fan here but IMO he isn't gonna go on there and tell everybody Dungey is gonna kill everybody again this year (even though that's what he is probably thinking since he is Team Suzuki's Advisor) He has caught some heat in the past from a lot of rider's about kissing Dungey's ass during the TV telecast and Dungey having access to his Farm.

He mentioned James working with Johnny O and other changes that may help him bounce back from a difficult year.

I am not a fan of Stewart for a bunch of reasons but I agree that he is the favorite coming into this SX season. I'm only basing this on raw speed and technical ability. Mental stability has a lot to do with winning races so who knows where his head is. That aside, if we're talking raw speed and technical ability on a dirt bike, Stewart has got to be the favorite.

Ha ha. You sir are correct. That is why I started my post by saying that I'm no fan of Stewart. Landing on people and overall reckless riding really have no place in this sport. I understand that it's a part of the sport but Stewart seems to have stupid riding down to a science at this point, especially if he's not in the lead. The sad part is that I've been fortunate enough to watch him race an 85, 125, 250 2 stoke and 450 and the truth is that when he's on...he's really on.

RC ain't seen his feet in a year, but I sure like watching him race the Nascar. This year is up for grabs, I just hope everyone stays healthy.

He was also the man to beat at the national that he attended this last summer...and he was beat.

X1000 on that one buddy! I just re-watched one of the 2008 or 2007 SX races a couple weeks ago when Stewart was on that KX450F......I honestly forgot how fuggin' fast that guy can ride an SX track when he wants to. He actually looks like he riding slower now compared to then......but still fast enough to lay some wood!

I hope him , Reed , Dungey , RV and the rest of the gang are all healthy.....cause it's gonna be an EPIC SEASON!!

Until we see James compete and getting beat on the track, it would be silly to think he's not the favorite IMO.

But, I think Dungey will do fine. I will not be surprised if he wins the title this year, but, I wouldn't put money on any one rider at this point.

There's many years that start out with several guys that could win the title. Someone has to be the favorite. There will be some injuries and the guy who stays out of that trouble will be most likely to win the title IMO.

That is the biggest bunch of nonsense I have read since the motochick thread this morning!

RC doesn't give a rats ass what anyone thinks about what he says. Not you, me, Suzuki, or anyone else. He say's what he feels. His opinion is based off what he has seen with his own eyes.

James is going to have an edge on the competition, talent wise, obviously; however, statistically, he has a 50% chance of crashing out of the series based on his past record.

. If james rides like he did in 09, he is the favorite. Until someone beats him heads up, he is gonna be considered the fastest guy. The fastest guy doesnt aleays win. The guy that spends the least amount of time on the ground & stays healthy will win. RC also said in that interview that he lost alot of sleep worrying about how to beat stewie

He said that "on paper" Stewart is the one to beat. He also said that James needs to finish a series.

This should be an exciting year for sx. I'm superpumped for A1!

Ya know, usually the defending champion is considered the "favorite." But isn't Dungey training at RC's house? So either RC is saying that to fire Ryan up or maybe he knows something he can't say...?

or just maybe he's seen how fast James is and how hard it was to beat him and he's got Dungey at his track and comparing his lap times to his own laptimes when he was competing against James and they might not be that imprewssive what RC's were

I'll take the bet. 10 to 1 JS wins a moto or two, maybe an overall, no chance for a title. RV is really a wildcard. He may be the old RV and really scoot along, but I'd bet he's lost just enough bravery to not be able to hang in there. RD is predictable, and given the length of the series and his youth with lack of injury so far, he's the guy. Does Vegas post lines on this stuff? RC's comments are simply and purely a smokescreen to increase the pressure on JS even more - because he knows JS is weak mentally (anyone remember the JS outdoor race this year? Weak, very weak.).
