Deegan has no commitment to feld. Thinking this is a shot is a weird angle.
100% the numbers are there. For me its the eye ball test. I dont see him having the flow and ability on a sx track that the greats had before him. His physical stature and ability to blitz whoops is also going to be a major problem. Now maybe how I'm judging him is flawed. Who gives a shit if he doesnt look as "pretty" and flow around a sx track if hes getting wins? Cooper Webb isnt flashy or very exciting to watch and we've seen his success. I dont think Haiden is anywhere close to the sx rider Webb is though. Go look at his 250 sx career and it was domination. I always preface my comments about Deegz sx ability with the qualification that I would love to be wrong! I want Jett to be challenged. I dont have irrational hate for Haiden. He's very exciting to watch especially outdoors and really thats all I care about. Sx is just a table setter for me. I'll criticize his mistakes but can move on and not want to see the kid strung up in the town square lol. I see Deegz having more trouble with the group of Hunter, Chase, Eli, Webb than ever actually getting close to Jett.
Yeah and when he has gone down they're relatively minor tip overs. I dont think of him as a crasher at all. He has a reputation as this WFO, just send it guy. But, in my opinion, its lost how good his technique is. Obviously not Lawrence or Chase good. But not everyone needs to be clones of those guys to have success. Hes also very strong and packs some muscle. His strength has saved him on some mistakes in rhythm sections that could have been bad crashes.
Like him or not Deegan’s first race on a 450 is bigger news and his debut race will draw a lot of attention. WSX will certainly capitalize on that publicity (as would Feld have). Just seems interesting he chooses to do this with WSX..Now Feld won’t have that “Deegan’s 450 sx debut” promotion. It’ll be old news by then…

I absolutely don’t want to see anyone get hurt, or crash for that matter. The question wasn’t whether he’d get hurt, just a big crash.
HD has taken some rough crashes on his 250, he’s just been incredibly tough/durable and hasn’t been substantially injured much. He’s a lot like RC in that regard and that’s an awesome trait for a racer. History shows that aggressive riders often/usually have a few big diggers before they fully adapt to 450. HD is the most aggressive rider I’ve seen in decades, that’s why I think he’s probably gonna hit the ground when he’s adapting to racing a 450. It’s just part of the sport..
HD has a habit of getting aggressive with other riders, when you add the other factors in with the completely unpredictable nature of tangled bikes at speed, crashes get worse.
So with all that in mind, I think he’s gonna do what most new 450 guys do sooner rather than later. I think HD is going to have a lot of success on a 450 and I love watching him ride. I just turn the volume down whenever he takes his helmet off and starts talking..
Finally, if I had the ability to “manifest” something into existence, I wouldn’t waste my superpower on messing with a motocross racer, there’s way better things to “manifest” into existence..
I honestly haven’t been this intrigued by a big bike debut since Stew in 2005. I wish Jett was on the gate too.
HD has taken some rough crashes, the helicopter at Thunder Valley was huge! He’s just really athletic/durable/tough and keeps going. Reminds me of RC, and we all know how his career went..
this has zero to do with liking or not liking deegan. Deegan doesn't care about Feld and saving his 450 cherry for them, lol. good for WSX to get him and even better he's racing a 450. Feld will still market it as his first SMX championship race so they'll still get their hype train going.
Deegan debuting in WSX makes way more sense then in our series. No pressure, see how you stack up against some other good riders.
He’s been one of the most if not thee most consistent guy period he’s not missed any rounds since he went pro. It’s the same story his entire amateur career. His career so far is plenty of proof there’s zero reason to speculate. There’s quite a few current 450 guys who have been in 50x more on track bar rubbing incidents than Haiden likely ever will. Given these facts saying otherwise is just strange behavior really.
Having a conversation and not just agreeing with your opinion is “strange behavior really”?
I think conversations about racing is entertaining, and I like hearing other fans opinions, ain’t nothing strange about it…
I’m all for racing discussion. However, saying he will get hurt on a 450 as others have done above is strange negativity. HD being one of the most consistent guys in motocross since the start of his amateur career isn’t my opinion. That’s just the facts, let’s speculate how he will stack up to the competition in the upcoming races instead of saying he’s going to get hurt.
?
He crashes a lot. Way more than average. The difference between him and everyone else though is that he bounces up immediately (except when he broke his collarbone with his bullshit he was trying to pull on Jo)
4 wins out of ten this year in SX
Yep he’s definitely not lining up for 2nd
These are the facts.
?? What are you talking about he just went an entire outdoor motocross season crashing only at red bud. Is your delusional average zero?
I am not a fan of his attitude, but I do love having a "villain" so I can hope others win. I hope he is at or close to the front and shit talks everyone and then gets put in his place, or wins. Either way will be awesome entertainment. Next year, I truly hope he can race at the front because I am not sure anyone else can and we need a competitor for Jett.
Deegans first AMA 450SX start will be a much bigger deal than an off season race.
I watched it on cable last year, not sure if it was live but all the races were on rcrhd channel. Hoping that's the case this year.
Pit Row
My guess is he lines up at a1 on a 450
What was confirmed was the top spot on the podium for Haiden Deegan. King Deegan is calling and the 450 class better pick it up.

Ever since I have been following the sport guys have made their big bike debuts at Bercy/Paris or other off season races. MX2 guys transitioning to MXGP do a handful of preseason races before the GPs start. Never once have I considered it to be an FU to their primary race series. Cooksey level logic.
I would assume that he's making some money from this race, but regardless, it's a smart move.
He gets race experience on the 450, and gets to see where he's at before A1, so he knows what to work on, both on his riding, and bike setup.
I don't see it as taking a shot at anyone. It's just plain a smart move all around.
These off season races mean nothing and will tell us nothing about his preparedness. A few years ago everyone was calling Mookie to be in the championship mix because he cleaned up a bunch of oversea MX. And that didn't come close to happening.
At best, it just gives Haiden some gate drops and makes him more comfortable on the bike.
These are actually not facts. You don’t win titles by crashing more than average.
Tell that to James Stewart.
Stew won 3 premier titles when he should have won at least 8.
He’s had some big ones, don’t know if it’s his build or luck but like RC it seems like he doesn’t really get injured from them. It is amazing how some riders can go multiple seasons with no major issues while others can’t go even one of the series without being hurt
Has missed the biggest race of the year three years in a row; is that the type of ‘injury free’ we’re talking about?
I certainly don't bear any ill will or animosity toward the kid. I've got eyes and can see he's a force. I just can't be a fan of the package.
I was a fan of Marty...not Bob so there ya go.
I asked a few people the over/under question today, everyone answered between 2 and 5. Nobody wanted to see him hurt, but the reality of pro racing is that crashes happen, especially in first season on a 450.
BTW, nobody was doing any kind of voodoo conjuring curses, we were just talking about racing..
