I know this dead horse has been beat to oblivion but dangit I hate the new world order of starting grates, starting blocks and start devices. Does anyone remain unconvinced that more separation out of the gate yields fewer first turn melees? I know I sound like an old man shouting at clouds but I'm over 50 and that's what I do from time to time! LOL!

Yeah was bummed to see even the holeshot challenge at MXdN had grates, and none of those legends ever raced on them.
Someon posted a video of them cleaning up the ruts in front of the gate between motos at MXDN.
I mean this shit is ridiculous. They've just completely taken a whole skill set out of the spirt and for the most exciting part if the race.
You don’t need to get rid of them, the AMA can just regulate them. Make a max depth on start devices, max height on the blocks, don’t allow the blocks to be attached to the grates. What they are allowing now is ridiculous, especially what they are letting Deegan do.
the only sport I can think of with virtually zero regulation/rules regarding one of the most critical aspects of a race. If everybody uses avail tech = no advantage. They're all using the same equipment. Why not strike all of it and level the playing field back to "stock"?

I also agree. When will the gimmicks end? However, as one who is vertically challenged I like the start blocks!😁 I appreciated a good deep rut behind the gate. ''Back in the day'' it was the good 'ol milk crate.
No keep the grates we're developing a new product. Magnetic rim locks. Line up with rim lock at the bottom and it sucks the tire down for maximum traction. Also developing a spring loaded front wheel. Roll it backwards several turns to pre load the spring like a kids toy car. 2 wheel drive for the first 10 feet combined with our max trax magnetic rim locks guarantee you'll be starting at the front of the pack. 👍
