Of their personality. You guys are turning moto into golf. It’s sad to see. The interviews are boring, the racing is boring, the podium interviews are boring. God forbid one of these guys says something funny or makes a block pass. It just blows up on vital hate threads. You guys are silencing the field into thanking my sponsors and dipping. Some of these guys are teenagers… I’m sure you were way more cringy as a teenager.
I miss the big personalities and fun to watch riding: jlaw, Hansen, izzi, Anderson before he was tamed for being himself, now deegan. Let’s keep moto a rad action sport and not turn it into a bunch of robots in a collared shirt that are afraid to show any personality without 60 vital threads and 20 YouTube clips just dogging them.

Apparently you missed the 8 years of Dungey and Villopoto interviews. Things are getting spicier not more plain.
These riders are on Tik Tok and Insta. They don't even know what Vital is, much less care about a bunch of guys comparing them to Bob Hannah and Ricky Johnson.
Hey golf has the same issue, Bryson Dechambeau came up with a bit of personality and a unique approach. He was chastised by the senile crowd for years. He turned the tide though and is as popular as ever. His personality also brought out personality in other golfers. The deegs has done exactly the same, some day the vitaltards will realize they were wrong and the deegs was a gift from god himself.
And why is it spicier Kage? Come on, give him credit. Say his name lol

I’m sure it is vital that’s doing it.
Not the seven day a week grind, constant training, travel, massive amount of money on the line, being under the microscope 24/7, etc., etc.
If you want better racing don’t let these riders look at a bike until Saturday, limit physical training to one hour per day 2x a week, and have a different track builder every week.
OK, I get it, you miss brainless little thugs. Lucky you, Haiden is around. Well, not this week since he did thug things, but he'll soon be back for you.
😉
I’m not saying just vital. It’s vital, social media, YouTube, moto media. Think of you at 18. Probably lame as shit looking back and now imagine if you were on camera and had your words recorded for the world to see. Let an 18 year old be an 18 year old. Who cares if it’s a little cringy.
You don’t think these riders read the vital threads, the constant social media bs, moto media just trashing them? That absolutely is going to make you be like “alright f this I’m not saying shit anymore”.
Same with the riding. And this isn’t talking about Vegas, that was different and the finale with a lot of money on the line. That was for sure a little over the line, But even regular season edgy block passes are fined by ama and then riders getting smoked online about it. All of this is making the racing and personalities in the sport crumble.
“They don't even know what Vital is”
Oh… most of them all know what Vital is. (Not always in a good way) Many don’t bother to post, but they definitely keep an eye on posts over here.
You think so? Maybe some of the older privateers. But, I don't think the top guys and younger pros. I think they'd see one thread about how good the 08 Honda was or the time Brad Lackey won the 500cc world championship and just be disgusted. But, maybe not.
*Deegan acts like a dickhead*
“Wow, he’s kinda being a dickhead”
“DO YOU GUYS ONLY WANT COOKIE CUTTER INTERVIEWS???”
Except it’s not a guy saying “wow deegan is being a dickhead”. It’s 600 threads, social media blowout shit talking a teenager.
Do you remember Jett eating a donut and the world exploding that it was unprofessional? And that’s Mr perfect Jett just eating a fucking donut. These guys can’t be themselves and that’s my point. The weight of thousands of people trashing you for a split second decision you made on the track or what you said in an interview is heavy dude. If you can’t understand how that’d mute personalities then idk man.
I remember some people saying that but I don't think it was the majority. Here's a thread from this year when Jett was eating a corndog during the press conference and how it was recieved.
People want these guys to be authentic, that's it. We do see a lot of personalities now but not everyone is outgoing like that, it's just nature. This thread is clearly created based on Deegan and I think people just find him to be an annoying, inauthentic TikTok-acting teenager and so when he acts like that, people call him out. And yeah, I'll say it myself. Cut the WWE act, shit's corny.
Its a new era
Welcome to the Dong Show!
Izzi absolutely did not have a big personality when he was racing. Are you confusing having a personality with doing lots of drugs?
At 18, I understood riding dirt bikes was a privilege and to appreciate every minute of it. Didn’t grow up with a lot of money and was grateful for the sacrifices my parents made for me to chase the dream of being a pro rider one day. Wasn’t perfect by any means but I was raised to treat other people with respect.
This is not a matter of someone facing overzealous backlash for an honest mistake, but a repeat offender who is deliberately choosing to be an asshole and create drama at other people’s expense, having his karmic debt catch up with him. I don’t speak for everyone, but Vital has a negative consensus of the Deegan family for rather concrete reasons; Vital is one of the oldest motocross message boards on the internet, filled with engineers, doctors, lawyers, business owners, mechanics, servicemen, tradesmen, industry professionals, etc, people who worked hard to earn their success. Said people are tired of watching a spoiled rotten brat, setting an extremely poor example for the youth of our sport, tarnishing the public’s perception of pro racing by making it into a circus, continuously get away with being a piece of shit and having his cult fanbase harass anyone on social media who they see as a threat to their success.
Yes, Haiden is a damn good rider and has incredible work ethic, but these qualities don’t grant him exemption from moral etiquette or following rules. We reap what we sow and actions have consequences. Ironically 90 percent of his problems would vanish if he just shut his mouth, rode his ass off, show some humility and tell his fans to chill out. Instead, he chooses to embellish a slight temperature change into a lopsided beef against anyone he deems an inconvenience to him, broadcast his entire life on YT and chirp people on instagram.
Wild how you name dropped two riders with criminal records in your OP, one of which who’s been in and out of prison. Yea, I don’t want those kinds of people associated with the sport, especially a thief who’s facing domestic assault charges.
Its just revisionist history. People who make these threads are just trying to use a narrative to try and justify the Deegan bullshit.
2011-2018 was such a boring era. I LOVE villopoto but him and dungey gave us NOTHING. Like seriously, this dude trying to act like we are "killing" the personalities now must NOT have been around in those years.
Pit Row
Personally I thought that summer that Eli and Chase just duked it out the whole time was one of the best. Good, clean, hard, racing the whole summer. That was awesome.
I don't really get the whole fascination with the podium interviews or post-race interviews and stuff like that. I never watch those. Though that summer Ping had Chase and Eli on together at the same time after the series and that was a great little piece to watch.
Pay dirt, the supercross movie, watch it, come back and post your response
If Deegan used the constant foul language and insults people on here say about him and his family. Vital would be beyond angry…
Brian, why does your post count not increase each time you post?
True story, I saw it happen - at 2023 Honda CR press intro, they did those retro / throwback models with the gold wheels. It was at a winery in Temecula. Anyway, Honda had a bunch of old race bikes out there and a bunch of old racers, including RJ. They also had RJ’s 86 cr250 that he won the SX championship on. RJ was standing with the bike taking pictures. Jett walked by and RJ pulled him in for a photo opp. Jett said something and it was clear he had no idea who RJ was, nor whose bike he was standing with nor that it won a championship. At that moment, I felt old and also felt bad for RJ.
That sounds like a good time.
And, yeah can't blame Jett, but that does suck a little. Hopefully he got schooled up and somebody showed him clips of RJ battling Wardy in the Astrodome or something.
