My experience was not a good one. Rod snapped and took out the cases. I have used Hot Rods cranks with no issues though.

PC - You dont think they both come down the same production line in China?

I have a Wiseco crank in my 250 smoker.....in fact it came from Privateer Connection!

I guess it depends on the application. The one I had fail was in a yz85 and it was ridden very hard and the rod snapped on the third ride.

I had a wiseco crank for a KX 85 that had the keyway cut in the wrong spot. Had me scratchin my head on that one for a bit when it wouldn't run. I didn't measure it but lets say when the keyway should be at the 12:00 position, this one was at about 2:00. I cant believe this was a one off problem crank, they probably had a whole batch like that.

I have a complete Wiseco bottom and top end installed in a 2005 RMZ450 have about 20 hrs on it now and the knock from the OEM parts is gone. I don't plan on keeping the bike much longer but the parts were the most affordable i could find and did the job.

There was a post on this board awhile back that showed the problem with the wiseco crank. Fly wheels were over sized and crashed when over heated. Hot rods suck. Have the crank redone by the shop with stock parts.Doesn't cost any more and is better. If you can't find a place to do it,I can recommend an excellent shop for you.

Holy crap.. glad I threw down the extra 150 bucks for an OEM rebuild. I was seriously considering the full rebuild kit. I knew it wouldn't be as good, but I only wanna install Windows on my computer.. not my cases.

Both, I raced the bike about a dozen times a year and rode once too twice a week. The bike had a total of 135 hours on it. When the crank was installed the rebuild also included a new cylinder and piston kit. The valves and head were fine, but I did shim two valves.

I got really lucky when the motor let go, it happened over a small table top in the air. Pulled the clutch in and landed with a thud. If it had been a corner later, it would have been bad news as the next straight has the fastest and largest table tops on the track.

Despite the engine letting go that day, it was one of the most fun days of riding that I've ever had. Cool fall day, ample moisture in the dirt, hanging with you buddies at the track and a beer before you all go home.

I was planning to trade for a new bikes 2 weeks later which was a bitch. I didn't contact Wiseco, guess I figured they wouldn't do anything. I sold the bike to a buddy of mine who rebuild it and still rides the bike today.

Well good to hear the bike is still in use. i has the run out checked before i installed with v blocks and a dial and all was good. Hate to say but i hope my luck was better than yours with this product but i only hope to get a track day or two out of it then it's on to craiglist for sale. thanks for the input Saw

For shits sake I will have the runout checked on this crank before I decide to send it back.
Seems like an overwhelming number of catastrophic failures with these cranks, between here and posts at TT!

I wont buy any wisco products!

the only thing bad about them is that they are always on backorder through Parts or Tucker or WPS. That means they are selling though
