Bayle. Who else wins titles and then says I don't care anymore? I want to know what he was thinking.
I read in an interview that he had achieved everything he set out to do in MX and wanted to move on to road racing and win in that discipline

The whole crew at Wheelsmith Maico for dabbling in long travel suspension. My pick would be Gunnar Linstrom or Eyvend Boysen, Feets Minert.

If by "interesting", you mean someone you'd like to sit and talk moto with, I'd have to say Eric Johnson. The guy is an encyclopedia of motocross history.

Roger D

mainly because i didn't get to watch them race, i was born in 1985 and it would have been great to be at an age where i could truly appreciate what they were doing when they were in their prime....in short - they re the most interesting because i missed out on their era

And the rider that gets my total admiration to this day is Doug Henry, he had some tough times and always found a way to make it back. They don't make them like Doug anymore!

Joel Robert ( pronounced jo-EL ro-BEAR ). When he was born his father said "we will make a rider out of him". At the age of 21 he was able to take the chain off his bike, link by link. American rider Jim Pomeroy marveled at Robert’s natural strength as he was able to lift a Volkswagen completely off the ground, while smoking a cigarette and drinking a beer. Robert once won a 250cc World Championship, in one day. Yes, Joel Robert gets my vote as the most interesting man in MX...

Actually had the honor of hanging with Joel for a few days in the early 90's somewhere near Charlerois (sp?). Hit all the tourist stuff then a few bars and a couple back alleys. Where ever we went he was treated like a king. Some great sories, strange beer and horrible hangovers.

I certainly hope it's not me. I like to report news, not be the news.

Easy, Tony Alessi.

No one else generates the amount of intrigue and conversation on this board than he does.

I'll bet that was a trip hanging out with Robert for a couple of days! The dude's a legend in so many ways...
