Hello everyone.. my name is Mike Williams I'm the local race Marshall for the Oklahoma state championship series.. a rider on our team ,scotti had a major injury. I met Scotti 7 months ago when he joined our team Maxie's Motorsports in Oklahoma City.. he moved here from New Jersey and is a real character with a love for Motocross..we gelled,(let's give him thanks for serving our country in Somalia) the last couple months have been very hard for him he lost his wife out of nowhere, then two weeks later during a round of the series at Robbie Smith MX track he went down and completely destroyed his left arm and wrist. Free surgeries later he still cannot have any function in his left arm or wrist. He's unable to work his wife walked out on him he has no family at all in Oklahoma and he's in a bad way. Like I said he's a real character and it was a breath of fresh air to have him on the team he recently had to sell his bike just to pay bills I really want to help him out when I started to GoFundMe if anyone can contribute or even give him words of encouragement that would be great he's a vet MX racer who never wants to give up and is determined to get back on the bike eventually. I'm leaving the link right here so if anyone can help that would be greatly appreciated thank you everyone.appreciated https://gofund.me/f7040ceb

I’ll vouch for Mike. I don’t know him well, just in passing. He’s a good guy that would go out of his way to help another rider any chance he could.
Did his wife pass, or did she walk out on him ?
Donated. I hope he fully recovers, and makes a smart decision on whether to continue riding, one way or the other.
I see donations coming in and thank you guys it's greatly appreciated

I honestly would like to double the goal for him. He is unable to work and is facing a long recovery but he's keeping a happy face on... Being new to Oklahoma and being alone now and facing what he's facing has to be super tough and this guy eats sleeps and dreams Motocross. We are tight-knit community let's help this guy out and show him that he's not alone
any reason he can't move back to New Jersey with familiar surroundings and maybe a better support system (family, friends, etc.) ? When I was down on my luck in my 20's I had to move back in with my parents for a Summer to regroup. Wasn't fun and more than a little humbling after being on my own for years but it was best of my bad options at the time.
I'm so old I remember when men would never beg for money from strangers....
you probably could buy a house for 8,000 dollars then too. Ass.
He has zero family. He moved here to better his life. Not working out as planned. When I mean no family,no family.
That was a harsh response. We are a tight nip group. I would hope if you were down on your luck, your MX family would be there. Wish you well
And if you want to ask about his character ask Chase Marquir, Trey canard, or anyone in the Oklahoma Motocross community. The fact that he served our country for 4 years in Somalia we should help him..He gelled with us pretty quick and we're just trying to help him out
Donated. GWS moto brother.
done. Get well soon wishes and keep your chin up Scotti. Life will take a turn for the good soon enough. Hopefully the moto community shows you that light at the end of the darkness you currently face. God bless.
It sounds more like his new found friends trying to help him out rather than him "Begging for money"🙄. I get it, no one sent me any cash when I got hurt, but I was lucky and had a supportive family and 2 employees to keep the ship afloat. Solo with a recently bailed wife ? Yeah I'd of been fucked. You do know you can just not donate without giving the guy an extra kick in the ribs right ?
Thank you for this post. Yeah he's a great guy he moved here from New Jersey for his job by himself when he came into the community of motocross here he gelled with everyone. And to be honest within 3 weeks he lost his wife had the accident lost his job and only has use of one arm right now so we're all trying to help him any way we can thank you again for that post
Bump
So Scotty had another appointment with the orthopedic yesterday. His wrist is healing and it's calcified so he's lucky to have 10% movement in it the doctor is suggesting rebreaking it opening it up taking out the shattered bones and putting another external fixator on it so he's in a bad way right now if anyone can help let's help a motor brother out who's a breath or fresh air here in Oklahoma. She's always so jolly whenever he's at the races but he's super depressed now since he has no family here or anything so let's help this guy out he served our country I think that's the least we could do
Pit Row
Pls refrain from the negative comments... There's no need for it thanks everyone.
You didn't need to start another thread. I deleted it.
Why stop at only deleting the other one?
Why should this one be deleted? You think he's the first to make a post about an injured rider and GoFundMe?
Should the Jerry Robin thread be deleted?
Apples to oranges… Jerry was a professional racer. Sounds like this guy should have been at home taking care of his marriage and not out racing. Especially if that is going to be used as leverage for begging.
Thank You
You have no idea as to the situation. Please refrain from making assumptions. Thanks
You’re right, I can only go off your narrative.
Respectfully, if Mike wants to come on here to help a fellow rider/friend and vital is allowing it, who are you to judge the situation. If you don't want to help, dont help. If you don't want to see this thread, don't read it. Sometimes its just not necessary to leave a comment on something. Have a good day.
Maybe take your own advice. This is an open forum… no? I have every write to call it as I see it, just as you do. Don’t like my post… don’t comment
Respectfully
I think the issue isn't as much about the injured rider as it is about mwilliams828 and his constant bumping of the thread and starting duplicate threads as his first posts from a new member at vital. I think its great if he wants to help just don't go overboard trying to sell it to everyone.
