Listening to one of Ben's interviews, it really was shocking, but a man can make his own choices and i respect his honesty...

He was pretty much saying "home is where the heart is" and that he is not interested in Supercross, sounds to me like he wants to inch closer and closer to home, he's got a new kid in his life etc, i don't blame him, he along with everyone else has to do what they feel is best for their family. He gives 100 percent when on the track and as a fan we can't ask for anything more....hope he does well in Europe....

Bens proven on the GP tracks so theres no question hes gonna be a threat and yet another one to keep AC on his toes. Come to think of it, I think theres more than 20 former GP winners in MX1 next year has that ever happened before? pretty neat

I always got the impression he'd rather be racing the nationals from his interviews.. thought doing the GPs were more of a last resort for him. I'd prefer to see him race the Nats!

Quite a missed opportunity for some US factory teams... does anyone honestly believe that guys like Weimer, Metcalfe or Grant, as great as they are, would be a better investment than BT?

You realise Europe is 12 hours further away from home (New Zealand) than the United States is?

Think it shows the emphasis the factories put on SX.

yes, sorry to sound confusing....

I was just saying that he seems to be saying that he wants to spend more and more time at home. Not sure where Europe fits into that equation.....but from the sounds of the interview i heard, it just seems like he wants to go back home to New Zealand sooner than we think, or at least thats kind of what i thought he was saying

Yes. Ben has won one regional championship over here if I'm not mistaken - and it's not like he was a rookie when he did that either. Since then he's either been injured or trying to re-injure himself.

BT is a fast and talented rider, but he makes too many mistakes and throws races away a lot. He will steal some moto wins and a couple overalls from Cairoli, but Cairoli's consistantcy will score him the title again.

He is a dirt magnet for sure, but his resume and and recent results are better than other guys landing factory rides.

You sure he is going to Kawasaki? I thought he had a huge Martin Honda offer not so long ago that he was seriously considering, and all his promotions here in NZ in SX have been on a Honda, given that he normally rides Kawasakis here then to see him still on a Honda makes me think that he wont be in CLS team (Kawasaki already have two very strong riders, mind you I guess that doesnt mean much).

Kind of ironic he's not into SX, his only title in the U.S. He was a much better 250 rider here, giving the fasted dude, Villo, a really good run for his money. Fast on a 450 when he was not on the ground, the number of times he crashed on the big bike was ridiculous.

I believe all those guys are better investments thn BT101. They all have as much of a chance outdoors as BT101 and they have way more upside for the other half of the season in SX. He reminds me alot of Josh Grant, has the speed but not sure he can put it together for a full season. Either way thats a nice pull for the GP's.

Strong team Mitch has in GPs next year... hopefully Ben can stay healthy.. title contender for sure on speed and talent.
Maybe in Europe, but not in America. Guess that is why he is going back. Sucks for sure. He was fun to watch.

A yeah! Didn't Metcalfe beat Townley most of the time this year outdoors? Grant is every bit as fast and races supercross. Weimer, who knows for sure.

They are Monster Pro Circuit CLS Kawasaki. They run PC bikes, team CLS providing the team structure and Kawi backing them (even before PC came along). I don't doubt either Searle or Anstie end up over here on Mitch's team in a year or two.

I agree. Since Monster is the new title sponsor of the series, they need someone to compete with AC and the RedBull KTM.

I'd say that's right on the money, and Cairoli would relish any big challenge,he's probably looking forward to the day maybe Dungey comes alongGrinning

Good luck to bt, though in terms of consistency I think a healthy bt with a clean preseason training run will surprise the people who think he's inconsistent.
