Hey everyone. Sitting here in the hospital bed. Let me start by saying all the kind words mean sooo much. The moto community sure is something special. As for my progress... surgery went well. They realigned and fused me up right. The spinal cord is intacted but has some swelling. Every now and then my legs feel real tight. Almost as if there was weight being applied. Very weird feeling. Its a long road from here on recovery. Very scary. But thanks again for the support.

Still sending prayers your way.

How are you insurance wise? If you do not want to answer I understand.

Hey Stephen - best wishes on the recovery! Sorry I missed this thread earlier somehow but wanted to let you know that www.RiderDown.org was set up to help guys in exactly your current situation. We'd love to help, just need you or a family member to visit the site and fill out an injured rider form (click the tab near the top of every page on the forum that says "Injured, Need Help?") and we'll do what we can.

Stay strong and keep fighting!

back again... internet is crappy here and i dont always have my laptop, so thats why its been so long.
i still dont have feeling from the nipples down. but i did get reflexes in my feet and legs back and i have spasms all the time. so thats some good signs.
i have rods from t2 down to t8.
im set for discharge the day before thanksgiving. from there im going somewhere that has the same goals i have. which is to walk again. currently i have my mind set on sci step in cinncinnati, which i believe is where justin weeks is going. anyone know for sure?
as for the insurance question... i do have insurance, but it will most likely run out before my outpatient therapy is over. its all real questionable what they will cover once im out of here.
again thanks for the kind words and get well wishes. it puts a smile on my face to read so many.

Do you still get the "heavy feeling" in your legs? That sounds very very positive to me and so do the spasms. That must be pretty cool to see those kinds of things and show you lots of hope! Keep that positive attitude and the future will be brightSmile
