Time for a new lid.
Anyone got any links for helmet shootouts or reviews? Yes, I looked over the stuff in the products section here.
I already know there are die-hard Shoei or Arai folks but I see there are a lot more choices these days. LIGHT weight is good. Removable liner / pads is good. A sale price is always good.
My dad is very happy with his carbon fibre Thor helmet, might wanna check them out.

I have quite a large head (not a egotistical 'big' head, but physically a large head), so I
was a little reluctant to buy one not knowing what to expect. I absolutely love it. It's very
comfortable, very lightweight, and has great airflow when riding. It has removeable liner and I bought it on clearance from Motosport (It was the Black and Gold Lechien replica). Most helmets I noticed will start going on clearance here in the next couple of months,
because of next years models coming out. Keep your eyes open and you can find a good deal.
I am shopping for a new helmet myself and was also impressed with the new Fox V3 and the new Fly Formula.
If I can't find a deal on the new V3 or the Fly Formula, I will get another Bell Moto 8.
Sounds good if you got the money.
It's a great helmet, but I liked the TLD better. It seemed to fit me better.
I'll be going back to a new TLD SE3 as soon as they're available.

But what I'm really looking for are any mag reviews, etc. They often turn up stuff one might not have thought about. Any helmet shootout or review links?
I've owned Arai, Shoei and Bell, and this easily stacks right up there with the Shoei and Arai.
The new Bell 8s are horrible (for me - just terribly uncomfortable and 'seemed really cheap for the price range).
Also note though - those that say you must spend the money on an Arai to be "safe" is totally wrong. They ARE great helmets, but there is no standard of measure to truly prove an Arai is safer than a Troy Lee for example.
