Not everyone obviously, but this recent drama in our media really makes us all look stupid and unprofessional as a sport.
The new thing seems to be to shit on Matthes for clicks and views. That comment about hopper asking AP about Eli to KTM wasn’t even a big deal, he even prefaced it with “I like Johnny but..”
These dudes saw it as an opportunity for sensationalism and views and suddenly there is podcasts, reels, clips, everything appearing on the topic, let’s just stick to the moto stuff and not bash someone for their opinion on something you did/said.
Gypsy jumped on the opportunity doing endless mentions and short videos about it, and don’t even get me started on cooksey..
Now with Ping and GL going after Steve and Lewis is getting ridiculous.. Are these guys that starved for attention turning to beefing with the other media for views?
Lewis’ questions to Prado was one of the most raw and honest interviews I have heard in a long time, Steve has been putting out solid content consistently for like 20 years now, why are these guys trying to tear them down?
He is obviously respected by the majority of the pits as they have pretty much all been on pulp at some stage.. maybe not Anderson or deegs anytime soon though haha.
Dissapointed in Ping for going off on Lewis for likely no reason other than jealousy.
GL airing his dirty laundry on social media like a drunken 16 year old, posting pictures of Steve with his wife is just sad for a guy that was a champion in our sport.
I work in a similar industry and there is an unspoken rule that we don’t shit on each other publicly, it’s a shame there isn’t more professionalism here.

No need to worry about our sport looking unprofessional, other than core moto fans exactly zero people know about this drama.
Its a lot to get the head around and why there is so much ego driven crap involved, for such a small sport their is some drama involved.
The personal cheap shots are absolutely wild that's for sure, everyone is doing it for clicks it seems like these days.
Views and likes are the cool thing to have these days. Social media sucks.

I use to listen to it all. This beef does nothing but push me more towards Lewis and Pulp. Now instead of gypsy pod or whiskey I listen to LVK. Pulp talks politics too much for me but his moto content is superior to everyone else and he seems like a good dude. Lewis is the best journalist by far and I listen to all his stuff(minus mxgp pod).
The funny thing is my politics align much more with ping and GL but they have pushed me away with how they behave.
GL and Ping are the guys who peaked in high school and continue to bully. We get it ping and GL, you all won homecoming and were prom king. Keep bulling the most successful "nerds" ( steve, lewis ect) at the age of 50. SICK look brooo
Moto Media??? are those the same guys who reported what was in Milsaps Kawi locker in 2015? oh wait, we still dont know ten years later thanks to our great moto media.
Small sport = small pie ($) = lots of people wanting a job in the “media” = tearing each other apart for a slice of that small pie
They want to make you feel like you have to choose sides and only watch their channel, similar to what main stream media does. This is why Brian Deegan called Racer X “fake news”, why Cooksey is constantly attacking Racer X and Davey, etc…
Maybe they think there are more people out there that dislike the Matthes group than like them. I think they’re wrong.
I like how JT and Weege, who are aligned with Pulp, stay professional enough and out of this high school drama. I'm sure they could unload gossip and dirt but fly above the drama sort of. Perhaps that is something some may not like about them, too PC?
It's hard because they all have to rely on sucking off the same teet. Make momma mad and you get cut off.
