i dont understand why the drunk alcoholic take is coming from though when it seems grant is running a successful business and getting people into the sport.  who doesnt love a couple cold onesScreenshot 2025-07-29 at 9.59.33%E2%80%AFAM.png?VersionId=arbmg05RSeoyYjljjjzRJOUpF4

Which is as it should be. If that old lush was running the show they'd be nothing but old bottles and unwashed vomit on the floor of the showroom.

Hopefully Matthes and crew double down on playing some of the drops from when GL got absolutely hammered on the show.

I haven’t heard much about Grant Langston since he stepped away from commentating. I don’t really follow MX podcasts these days, so I’m out of the loop.

Some of the posts earlier in this thread don’t paint a great picture, and there seems to be an implied suggestion that he’s struggled with alcohol or substance abuse. Is that something people have actually heard on podcasts or interviews, or is it more just speculation that’s been repeated over time?

It seems to be pretty well accepted GL has an alcohol problem. He even admitted during one of Swap's deep throat sessions that he was always pissed while commentating.

I don't understand all the down votes, part of the game? valuable ones? Maybe I read that wrong.. I would never want to be in someones game and have a price on me, cannot imagine anyone wanting to be part of that.

GL, Ping, and Cooksey are 3 people who have made politics their entire personality. Brian Deegan is right there on the edge too and is trying to force it on to Haiden, but they havent gone completely off the deep end yet thank god. I wish GL and Ping would just keep their dumbass political opinions to themselves. Or if they really want to talk politics make a separate account for that. NOBODY is coming to them for their political opinions, we wanna hear about moto, and GL and Ping have a lot to offer in that regard. When GL shuts the hell up about politics he actually has a lot of great takes about moto.

Ppl watch and ride motorcycles to get away from all the bullcrap for a while and just have fun. The people who are trying to force politics into moto are trying to make it not fun. If I want political opinions Ill go get them from people who are much smarter and more informed than them. These days we have to hear about peoples stupid ass politics literally 24/7. At work, from family, on tv, on social media, on the radio….. If I wanted more politics I know where to find it, but I 1000000000000% do not come to moto for politics. The ppl who are going to the extremes on either side are literally proud of how much they are rotting their brains. Keep that shit out of moto please!

Well said.

I used to be a huge fan of Ping and Langston. This type of BS has soured me on it.

They are acting like a bunch of clowns IMO.

Absolutely not, when bull shit arises, you shovel it out and prepare for the next clown to come in and dump bullshit back in the spot where someone once did before… see that’s the difference in the powers that have the shovel…..

The bull shit always shows up but the shovel always shovels it out.

Here is a link to the LVK show with Kellon and Lewis. Kellon spoke on himself and Lewis's background in journalism. College educated in journalism which is something to be respected.

They speak on the subject at beginning of the show.

I think you’re forgetting to do the last part of your motto of “post a couple dumbass comments and dip out”

Dont worry, since you were too much of a dick to actually leave a serious comment I went and found it. Youre welcome.

You took that as me being a dick? Interesting, I was just doing the community a favor bringing dirtbiking to dirt biking interweb forum reply’s.

Not people sitting in front of a mic with their lips moving, your forgetting the criteria. Dick.

Oh ok, that whole part passed me by because as I said the last I knew if him was in the booth. Shame if it’s true.

Well I went and listened to the Whiskey Throttle show and I wish I could get that hour of my life back. It’s quite ironic listening to them say guys like Lewis have never done it, so they sit around and take a tiny bit of truth and speculate meanwhile speculating on everything with Anderson, Lawrence family, Prado etc. Listening to them try to make sense of tariffs and trade deals made me realize these guys don’t read anything but headlines. Never again.

With all due respect, this sport is largely made up of people who’ve devoted their lives to racing — living in training camps, skipping formal education, and as a result, not always the sharpest tools in the shed. The media types circling the sport often come from the same world, so let’s not expect Pulitzer-level conversation.

I remember hearing The Whiskey Throttle Show was a RacerX idea and Ping took it and ran with it.

I don’t even get why Ping has stayed relevant this long after his racing career. He had a good career, but it wasn’t like GLs, which i could see people still talking about. GL as a rider was awesome, as a person it seems like he’s fighting some demons.

In case I get clicked (again) for covid posts, Davey and Tim were 100% right to keep slowey out. We all love slowie but, people go to moto events to get wild, like vegas. Who wants a dude running around with a camera posting it?

I've been to moto events to race or to watch but never thought of it as a place to get wild.  I been doing it wrong.

He was never the fastest but stayed relevant by writing his columns for RacerX, doing some testing and reviews after racing and then being a regular on Pulp. Even had a short stint on Vital, so strange he has now gone off the deep end on many that helped him prolong his career in the industry after racing. Seemed to have a good thing going with Whiskey Throttle but I personally haven’t listened to to much of his stuff after his beef with Kenny and then his conspiracy theories. When I check his “library” I don’t really see the content that made his pods a must listen as his long form interviews, but maybe he just ran out of willing guests or is trying to go in a different direction 🤷‍♂️
