He's ahead of them in the championship because they either aren't there or they are back markers to begin with. The fact that you think this is a rebuttal to someone saying Prado is massively underperforming is hilarious. Y'all are really grasping at straws

I'll say again, if you put Marchbanks on that other factory 450 he would be kicking Prado's ass. One of the podcasts mentioned that Broc Tickle is going 4 seconds a lap faster than Prado in practice on the same bike 😂

So Prado’s “massively underperforming” even though he’s 7th in the 450 championship, in his rookie AMA season, on tracks he’s never raced—against one of the deepest 450 fields in years?

And your rebuttal is… Marchbanks? A 250 rider who isn’t even racing the same class? That’s not a comparison, that’s fan fiction.

As for Broc Tickle being faster in practice—cool. Let’s see that translate into actual race results under pressure, heat, and traffic. Fast laps in a controlled setting aren’t the same as a 30-minute moto.

The man is 7th in his first go at a championship

No ,when prado moved to 450 mxgp it took him few years to get endurance up, to where he could battle with herling and gajser the whole moto.

Think him coming of injury in supercross has put his fitness base back.

Nothing to do with ama vs mxgp b.s .

I.e remember when coldenhoff smashed everybody in mxon on usa soil ,tomac ect

Yes, he's massively underperforming and everyone in the industry agrees with that statement. 7th place is already disappointing without accounting for the fact that AP, Anderson, Webb, etc. are all out and guys like Barcia missed the start of the season.

No dude, fan fiction is you pretending that Prado isn't underperforming. Dude is getting his shit kicked in every week by RJ Hampshire, who is also a rookie and who never even won a 250 MX title

Broc Tickle is a retired test rider. I don't care if it's practice, he should not be 4 seconds a lap faster than a 2-time MXGP champion under any circumstances

Last year Anderson had an overall podium at Washougal, six top-5 overall finishes, and finished 5th in the final standings.

2023 Anderson only raced 7 races and had two overall podiums and four top-5 finishes.

2023 Cianciarulo had an overal podium, six top-5 finishes, and finished 5th in the final standings with one arm.

2022 Anderson won two overalls, had seven overall podiums, ten top-5 finishes, and finished 3rd in the final standings.

2021 Tomac won two overalls, had eight overall podiums, finished second in the final standings.

2020 Cianciarulo and Tomac finished 2nd and 3rd in the final standings.

I think when you factor in new format, new chassis style, new country, new tracks where Prado is currently at might be about what you’d expect ?

Next year with the data assuming he stays healthy I’d expect a levelled up in results forsure.

Sure if he was actually getting 5-8 and saying hey I’m not comfortable on the bike, it’s an adjustment  and I need to be better at setting it up. If he did that, some fans would be disappointed thinking he would have been better but the majority of fans would understand. Instead you get, straight up giving up and zero accountability. I like Prado and I think he’s a decent dude but this ain’t it.

Hopefully one day when he’s off Kawi we get both sides of the story and the details. I think it’s a little bit goofy Kawi hasn’t talked to the media when asked. I don’t think there is a good excuse for not talking with the media when you have Jorge railroading the bike every week. If we are going to be mad at riders for not giving information after a bad ride, the team should be held to the same standard. Just like in all professional sports.

Exactly. If he was giving max effort and getting top 10’s thats one thing. Hell if hes giving max effort but gets a 12th thats one thing. When he holeshots and then gets passed by a bunch of guys, then a bunch more guys, then completely gives up and gets 19th, thats another thing entirely. Everybody saw him throw in the towel, and theres been a few races now where he clearly gives up half way and the effort drops way off.

When hes throwing the team under the bus…guys who are staying late every day away from their families trying to get the bike right, and hes not even out there trying his hardest it looks real bad. He definitely deserves a lot of the blame here.

The biggest problem with American motocross is too many of you fans actually believe this.

I don’t believe so many of you can be this dumb, surely you’re just trolling?!

Alright I'm now convinced this is a Prado burner account because you are giving the most ridiculous excuses for his shitty performance

His last moto Prado's fastest lap was NINE SECONDS slower than Jett. Jett could ride a 150R and do better than that

People keep bringing this up as if Prado was pushing to the absolute limit and was 9 seconds slower than Jett, he wasn’t trying, he was absolutely trail riding out there

He probably didn’t forget how to ride but he forgot how to suffer. As the kids say, “the boy does NOT have the dawg in him”

It takes a smart rider to win a long championship, how many had Prado won ?

Yeah, total failure. Prado’s only 7th in the 450 championship during his rookie AMA season, on tracks he’s never raced, in one of the deepest fields in years. What a disgrace.

Marchbanks would apparently crush him… if he were in the same class. Which he’s not. But hey, don’t let that stop the fantasy.

And Tickle going faster in practice? Incredible. Let’s start handing out points for test track lap times while we’re at it. Maybe throw in a trophy for fastest warm-up lap too?

Is Prado struggling to find his form? Sure. But if that performance is “trash,” then half the field should pack it up.

You’re correct about most all of what you stated and 7th in the standings is good no doubt about it. Still the expectations were much higher than 7th and not even a sniff at a moto win. Because of his resume everyone expected much more than what he’s shown. Not only that he seems to have gotten worse rather than better as the season has went on.

Prado literally said he expected to fight for the title so he's underperforming even by his own words. He and everyone else can see it but you can't

You keep bringing up points but he's been nowhere near the top guys and is regularly finishing a minute+ behind each moto. If you think that's what anyone expected coming into this season then you're delusional.  Funny how you didn't respond to my point about the rookie RJ Hampshire beating his ass every weekend, lol

Half the field isn't being paid millions of dollars to ride factory equipment, dumbass. And the only one packing it up will be Prado when he runs back to MXGP with his tail between his legs

So you’ve just erased his career up until america ?

Interesting. Did you erase his performance at the 2018 nations aswell ?

Seems bizarre how wound up most Americans are over Prado’s first US season.

And now, a "...and get off my lawn" comment from an old, obsolete, nitwit - me: wayyyy back in the day, Maico factory riders Adolf Weil, Ake Johnson, Willi Bauer, and Hans Schmidt BUILT THEIR BIKES FROM SCRATCH in the Maico factory. They themselves made all the decisions about their engines' displacements, and they also developed revolutionary suspension changes using the shop's welders. My point: understanding what clickers and ECUs do and taking responsibility for refining them to your taste is NOT too much to ask of a spoiled rotten modern-day multi-millionaire Rolls-Royce driving factory rider, Prado included. Harrumph.

Prada’s not going back to MXGP, and this season hasn’t been as woefully bad as you entertain. Yes he’s getting beat by RJ, Hampshire is on a bike he’s on record liking and Prado is on a bike he’s on record hating, and up until this last week usually finished a position or two behind the 24 who’s been riding really well. Is your point Prado’s not good enough for AMA? It was just a one off but he beat Jett at Ernee so he definitely has elite, elite talent

Everyone seems to be on the band wagon that it is his fitness. I don't think it is that. A former champion just doesn't lose all that in a few months. From watching like everyone else, he just does not gel with that bike. Lets face it, he pretty much looks like a squid on it. Tip-toeing through corners like he is going to fall over. It is pretty bad.

Also, we are comparing him to Tickle who has been on that platform for how many years and developing the bike? And what do most of the manufacturers develope the bike for in the US market? Supercross. Prado most likely tested the bike for supercross without any consideration of the mx side. "Bike is fantastic." Ignorant in my mind and maybe a very large mistake on his part. Another comparison is Fevre. He has been on and developing that bike since 2020. Comparison goes out the window. Now look at Anderson. He has had a few flashes of brilliance since jumping off the Husky, but nothing like his championship years. I bet if Prado was on his GasaGas from last year everyone would be seeing a totally different racer.

Before he raced his first outdoor race, I figured he would run 4-7 during this year with an occasional 3rd in a moto.
Next year I figured he would be a 1-5 guy.
I was off.

Ah yes, the classic “he said he wanted to win, therefore he’s a failure” argument. By that logic, about 30 riders should apologize every weekend for not living up to press conference optimism.

No one’s denying Prado expected more — everyone did. But struggling in a debut season, while still sitting 7th overall, doesn’t suddenly erase his talent or turn him into some factory fraud.

RJ’s riding great — no one’s arguing that. But you keep bringing him up like it’s some mic-drop moment. Not every rookie takes the same path. Want to compare their full careers next?

And if you think only championship contenders deserve a factory ride, I’ve got some team rosters you should take a closer look at

If Prado goes back to MXGP, it won’t be with his “tail between his legs.” It’ll be with multiple world titles, AMA experience, and a whole lot more credibility than half the people throwing shade from their couches

What do you mean he wouldn’t be returning to Europe with his tail between his legs? He’s on record saying he’s going to come and win here so if he gets out of a 3 years deal and returns home, that’s going back with his tail between his legs. He gave up. He didn’t see it thru and put in maximum effort. If getting out of a 3 years deal deal and running back to Europe doesn’t include his tail between his legs, then I don’t know what does. Shit was too hard for him to overcome even tho guys like DV12, Tortelli, Langston, Albee, and more did it pre smart phone and pre internet which would’ve been wayyyyyyyyyyy harder to do IMO.

He hasn't won jackshit in America

So you’ve just erased his career up until america ?Interesting. Did you erase his performance at the 2018 nations aswell ? Seems bizarre how wound up most...

Seems bizarre how wound up most Americans are over Prado’s first US season.

You’re confusing “wound up “ with baffled. Euros thought he was gonna show the Boys over here a thing or two about a thing or two.

He’s a decorated World Champ not Ronnie Wingnut from Chicken licks raceway.  He shouldn’t be “trail riding” in 20th, when in his own words, “wants to win”.  On the contrary he looked pretty beat for “trail riding”….

Yeah lots of riders “want to win” but very few have wan at the highest level so depending on who’s mouth it comes from has different meanings.  Prado should have atleast battled for a podium this deep into the season.

Next year I figured he would be a 1-5 guy.
I was off.

I don’t believe you.

I'm not erasing anything, I said he hasn't won jackshit in America. Can you read?

He’s not even completed a season yet & came off surgery.

Why you so butt hurt over Prado ?

He’s an interesting stat. Since the 2023 MX season until now only two riders have won a 450 MX overall. Jett and Chase. I had to laugh at the talk of Prado winning races and battling for the championship preseason. Steel to aluminum frame, format changes, learning new tracks. I thought top 10’s by the end of the season. It’s a bad look when multiple industry people who are at the races say the fitness isn’t there, he’s not trying, and my favorite he put his hand up to block roost. At some point he needs to admit it’s not all the bike.

Come on in every 2 laps and make some adjustment shitty or not. Work on lap times under race conditions. Do something.

He got passed by 8 rides on the first lap, how is the bike beating him up?  🤣 The bike isn't the problem.

That’s simple.
To ride at race pace the bike is to sketchy for him to try and give 100%.

I really think it’s that simple.
He’s not comfortable he’s not going to do much on race day.
